Oh bullshit. Get your fucking facts straight. At the RNC, there was one breakaway march, (not this crowd) that broke off from the main protest route and broke a few windows, trashed a cop car, and overturned some newstands and garbage dumpsters. A minor riot that could have very easily been contained, but the cops were too busy with the peaceful protesters and didn't even arrive in force to stop it until it had been going on for two hours. But the police didn't stop after that riot was contained

I'm not talking about the "innocent bystanders" that you focus on while you either forget or discount the tiny groups like the ones who walked forward behind a thin mattress in obvious provocation that is covered by the first few minutes of the vid that began our discussion.
Taking a broader view of the events chronicled here and the discussion surrounding it I think we probably agree on most points and are both baffled by the actions of a few.

The police are literally a military force compared to the protesters. There's no need for that type of force, even in a real riot. This was nowhere close to a riot at all.

This country has the most robust legal system for property protection in the world (for now). Second, since a lot of angel and early stage medical device funding goes through academic institutions, I would try to establish an alliance with a college or university.

I understand that these people want to protest but if the police feel threatened they can advance. It's just a good thing they used tear gas instead of mace, since mace hurts like hell and takes an hour to clear out of your eyes. By privatization I mean special interest laws that are made to monopolize a particular market by means of the legal system. I am for privately own companies under antitrust protection. The Patriot Act ended that. The China referance only points out that industrialization brings prosperity. In America we don't need to nationalize manufacturing we need to deregulate it. As for private investment I am all for it as long as it is money backed by a rare metal and barrowed with real collateral.

I'm not sure where you are getting your information from but I'm afraid you are again misinformed. True monopolies are rare and when they occur US government intervenes and breaks them up. The Patriot Act did not end legal protection for private companies; this is myth. Property rights and protections enable prosperity; industrialization is typically a high growth period, but not the root cause of prosperity. But most Chinese people still well under global poverty level ($1/day).

But I disagree that privatization eliminates competition. Quite the opposite, nationalization of industry eliminates competition. It's free flow of private capital that creates competition. Furthermore, government planned economies crowd out private investment which by definition eliminates competition. No need to apologize.

Virginia is commonwealth state. This means that the individual has no right to charge another individual. No matter how obvious the violation. Only the commonwealth attorney has that power. In this particular case it did not seem to mater how much evidence I had, the commonwealth refused to charge him and even give me a chance in court. Although, when I called him about the stolen property, he had no problem obtaining a charge on me by the commonwealth. I still have the summons.

I had an eyewitness that saw him stealing a necessary jig for production plus other tooling, I have invoices and other witnesses that saw the mold being build and tested here. This video has nothing to do with "free speech". It clearly shows a group of young adults preparing for an engagement with law enforcement. They put on tear gas protection (masks, goggles, bandannas over their mouths) and then hide behind a traditional anarchist red and black banner. The thugs then march into open traffic and encroach upon police to incite a response. It seems to me this is an ali-oop to the media who then publishes headlines like "Police Gas Peaceful Protesters". see zombietime

A protest is a group of people from a opposing view who feel the need to yell that view from a permited area.
Storming a building consists of stupid fucks with weapons, technology, and funding to deliberating trespass in a specified zone. Now, which definition is closer to what the protesters did that day? With the exception of the 'building' part, I would say that the police were more like 'STORMtroopers'.

It is obvious to me that this group of "kids" (to use the commentators words) is intentionally provoking a textbook (crowd control manual) response from our law enforcers. These "kids" look like adults to me; they have the reasoning capacity and freedom to choose to act like law abiding citizens but they choose not to. Bottom line, they are breaking the law and quite frankly acting like children. And acting like a child does not exonerate an adult from the repercussions of breaking the law.

I agree with you 100% - these people were not peaceful. if you get a permit to organize in a public place (a fee is associated with the permit) you have an area dedicated to you for your protest. look at images/videos of the kkk organizing at some public place. they are surrounded by police and usually fences. they went through the city to organize and protest. the police are protecting their right to do so. it is organized. this video shows and unorganized protest.

If people want to stage a protest, they can do so through the city by getting permits. If you organize your protest through the city the police will protect you during your demonstration. Most likely, the people who get flash grenades shot at them are staging a protest without a permit. That's pretty much what all these videos are.
