Well, I would want a lion for a pet, but of course, I wouldn't buy one. I would want to make them happy. I agree with you that they shouldn't be kept as pets, (that's why I have a large plushie tiger. :3 ) I think you guys who saved those lions are great! I'm sure the lions do too, they are probably much happier with you than an abusive breeder.
I'm against people having animals that don't belong here! Monkeys I guess. But a fuckin lion! Your a dumbass! Let then roam free! God put them in the wild for a fuckin reason! Leave those animals alone! God put dogs, cats, monkeys (i guess),horses, cows, and etc! But leave those animals alone! Give them their homes back!
No it's not ok buddy, he's giving you a very clear warning to back the fuck up. It's so sad to see the wonderful animals we have locked up and abused. No life of any kind should be treated like this. If YOU don't want to live a life like this, why should you do it to others?
Oh god I love this. I know it's scary, but I'm an animal lover and that is so cute. <3 Though, I wonder, did they put them in cages for re-population purposes or they just put them in cages for entertainment/ useless caging? 'Cause it wouldn't be right to just have them in cages instead of the wild for no real purpose. BUT THEY ARE FREAKING CUTE. <333 I loved the Lions OH, & I loved the tigers too <3
the growling sounds like the wampa eating the flesh of the taun taun from the empire strikes back. the taun taun was luke's mount while the wampa was the snow monster.

@mortont25 Sorry this was one of the first videos i ever attempted and really had no clue how to use the software wayyyyy back then. Check out the new videos instead.
sanctuaries are doing a good job. i cant see what is so hard in passing a law that wild animals should not be owned by private parties,i refused to donate money to the shriners to take kids to the circus, told them when circuses dont have wild animals in them anymore i will gladly sponser a kid. theres nothing worse than a caged elephant in my opinion. good video.
@takeahint123 sadly once uninformed people make them captive there isnt a way to release them into the wild. the best way to end wild animals in cages is to help fight for laws preventing it. Check out CatLaws dot com
@MrLonewolfe19 seems you missed the point.... someone made this animal a pet.... and when it was abused and abandoned someone had to step on and rescue it. Sadly there is no way to release a captive lion into the wild. So facilities can only do the best they can to care for the animal the rest of its life and give it as much dignity as they can. Unfortunately tooo many people try to make these animals pets. sad sad sad
@MrLonewolfe19 hate to burst your bubble, but in the famous gladiatorial games, more often than not the lions were so frightened and confused they headed for the exits.
first off, this one in particular is not a pet. second some are "pets" from how they are raised, yes even despite instinct, third the word pet is slang
@1elgalle1 we were only there for a moment and the purpose was to show people that trying to make these animals pets ends up with these cats having to live their lives out in captivity and that it is sad for the animals and therefore should not be done. The cats were not in any way teased or harrassed. The few seconds of video taping was done during the time the staff was there to let them out into their yard after it was cleaned.

i absolutely adore big cats - breaks my heart when i hear of misguided "animal lovers" doing things like setting them loose from zoos and nature reserves so they can be "free". when an animal has been bred and raised in captivity, it's screwed. just like kittens and pups taken from their mother at a young age (the usual 6-8wksz) - they are not taught important life and survival skills and that really messes with their heads.

Why are there so many dislikes on this vid? o_O It's absolutely true; these animals should NOT be kept as a pet. Not only are they dangerous to humans, but they are meant to live in the wild, not in a filthy trailer like they were before... :I
I agree that these animals shouldn't be kept as pets. A little while back I heard a story on the news where police had to shoot to kill several large cats because their "owner" decided he was going set them all free into his neighborhood and then commit suicide. There was a wildlife park that wanted to help trap as many as possible so that they could do something to help them and find them safe places to live out their days but these cats were so aggressive that they had to be stopped. :(

When Ur sitting there antagonizing it... Fuck yea its going to come after u... He was telling u to go the hell away from him and his lady!!!! Dumb ass....
Just NOT as pets. . they will nom your head off, and I honestly don't blame them. Imagine being kept in a cage you're hole life :/ don't know about you but I would be a tad pissed off too.
i thought it was gonna be some human girl that fell in a lions den and the lion was protecting her from other lions. thats the way the title makes you think. it shouldve said "lion protecting lioness".
i thought it was gonna be some human girl that fell in a lions den and the lion was protecting her from other lions. thats the way the title makes you think. it shouldve said "lion protecting lioness".
Another ignorant person trying to post something on youtube saying that creatures from the wild are evil. While I agree that that these animals ARE NOT PETS and SHOULD NOT be kept as pets, putting them in a negative light is not right. You should be focused on the owner of the "pets". The animals did nothing wrong. You are misdirecting your focus.
My views on animal captivity have evolved over the years. When I was younger I would lament stories about federal funding being pulled from zoos under the thinking that they were beneficial to the education of younger minds. Anymore, I'm of the belief that zoos should be done away with entirely. We have sufficient means of documenting animal behavior in the wild, and captivity is a violation of nature. Cats are intelligent, and due to this I feel captivity is a violation of their rights.
Why do any of these beautiful animals have to pay for the stupidity of some egocentric humans beings...I don't know. That lions or any other exotic animal have a right to defend whatever dignity was taken from them more power to them !!. If any animal has to be taken from the wild it should only be done to help the animal, not to destroy them !!
Glad they were saved but at the same time, they should have never left Africa. These cats are big and are amazing hunters by nature. They should never be treated like freaking pets. I'm from Namibia, we have lions and we also have respect for them. Please let these creatures be. These days, it's hard for prides to survive. Sometimes a single male has to take care of 2 prides for survival. They may be animals but so are we.
I think the lion is clearly just pissed off from being captive -- it KNOWS its in a cage. Because if you were to come across a wild lion in Africa, it would act like you weren't even there; even if it were starving, lions would choose to attack an elephant before a human being.
Wow dude. You really need to do something to get this video out more. Show the rest of the U.S. what this is like. Like maybe try to turn it into a FEDERAL law or something. I would literally SHIT my pants if I woke up to THAT GIANT thing next door.
If everyone reading this agrees to stop reproducing, I will promise never to get a tiger or a lion. Billions of people are not willing to stop having kids so that these animals will have room to live in the wild on this planet. You all decided to drive large predators to extinction in the wild, what right do you have to tell others that they can't preserve these species in captivity? Of course they aren't normal pets, but not everyone who buys a tiger cub is dumb enough to do so on a whim.
Umm... I don't think this bitch who posted this video really understands the mind of a person who wants a Lion for a pet. You see dumb ass, it's the raw animal instinct that actually makes the animal desirable, people get them because they don't make good pets. Do you understand now? People owning a powerful beast and containing them makes them feel much more powerful than the animal. It's a stupid reason but there it is, human psychology 101.
Thank you for the work you do to help the innocent victims of man's greed, lack of compassion, and stupidity. It is so heart-breaking that nonhumans have to suffer. Thank you for putting this informationall video out there. I hope, as you do, that it will prevent confinement and mistreatment of these magestic beautiful creations. Bless you!! and the animals there and everywhere.
Thank God for people like the ones who rescued them. Too bad it wasn't before the leopard had expired before they were found. I have never understood why anyone would want to have a WILD ANIMAL for a pet. There is a reason they are called WILD! Thanks for making this video and bringing awareness to why people shouldn't try to make them PETS!
It's sad when people do that to WILD animals. You cant tame them... dont try, you just wind up hurting them. Even Siegfried and Roy knew that, they still treated them as WILD animals and used caution and respected them! There's a tiger sanctuary in i think it was Thailand where the monks take care of tigers, no pens, no weapons, just them, the tigers, and a walking stick. You dont hear of any attacks there. Treating them as pets wont happen. Treating them as wild animals with respect will.
i don't think that wild cats should be pets, i dont want them to be pets because i think they should be in nature not in human captivity. i doubt that the lion would really run at you and kill you if you weren't so close to the cage, but you want them to get mad, so i bet you got as close to the cage as possible and did whatever you thought would make them mad! you shouldn't be that close to the cage, and i don't think a regular person would just approach a lions cage, you proubly scared him!
Thanks for making a point that these animals belong in the wild or in the hands of experts (in proper habitats)! They are designed to live as predators at the top of the food chain, they grow up (unlike your Golden Retriever, which always has juvenile characteristics, making it easy to train), and have an adult aganda, which includes protecting their family and territory.
um, first of all, it might either be his mate or daughter, and also, if it feels threatend in any way, it will attack, u were just standing there looking at it and it doesnt know you or it can sence fear too, when a lion sences fear it will attack, so just leave it alone, stupied dumbass, next time, just dont even bother it!!!

i thought it was gonna be some human girl that fell in a lions den and the lion was protecting her from other lions. thats the way the title makes you think. it shouldve said "lion protecting lioness".

@MsAfricanIndian the staff there affectionately calls the female his girl and i never dreamed so many people would not 'get it'.

you dont have to prevent the people from the lions... you have to prevent the lions from the people!

You are misdirecting your focus.

keeping wild animals like that in a cage is a disgrace, feed the owners to them an then take them back to where they belong.

MrMonty08 1 week ago
Glad they were saved but at the same time, they should have never left Africa. These cats are big and are amazing hunters by nature. They should never be treated like freaking pets. I'm from Namibia, we have lions and we also have respect for them. Please let these creatures be. These days, it's hard for prides to survive. Sometimes a single male has to take care of 2 prides for survival. They may be animals but so are we.

This video made me want to get a lion as a pet...thanks! lol just kidding
KATOMATE01 1 week ago
I think the lion is clearly just pissed off from being captive -- it KNOWS its in a cage. Because if you were to come across a wild lion in Africa, it would act like you weren't even there; even if it were starving, lions would choose to attack an elephant before a human being.
SpunkySkunk347 1 week ago

Of course they aren't normal pets, but not everyone who buys a tiger cub is dumb enough to do so on a whim.

how are people getting so many likes?
XxDarkJoker45xX 2 weeks ago

Why do you say "come on show us why you're not a pet" and then cut the video before he attacks?
diablocell 2 weeks ago
It's sad when people do that to WILD animals. You cant tame them... dont try, you just wind up hurting them. Even Siegfried and Roy knew that, they still treated them as WILD animals and used caution and respected them! There's a tiger sanctuary in i think it was Thailand where the monks take care of tigers, no pens, no weapons, just them, the tigers, and a walking stick. You dont hear of any attacks there. Treating them as pets wont happen. Treating them as wild animals with respect will.
Sunomimi 2 weeks ago
i don't think that wild cats should be pets, i dont want them to be pets because i think they should be in nature not in human captivity. i doubt that the lion would really run at you and kill you if you weren't so close to the cage, but you want them to get mad, so i bet you got as close to the cage as possible and did whatever you thought would make them mad! you shouldn't be that close to the cage, and i don't think a regular person would just approach a lions cage, you proubly scared him!

Thanks for making a point that these animals belong in the wild or in the hands of experts (in proper habitats)! They are designed to live as predators at the top of the food chain, they grow up (unlike your Golden Retriever, which always has juvenile characteristics, making it easy to train), and have an adult aganda, which includes protecting their family and territory.
swordwhale1 2 weeks ago
um, first of all, it might either be his mate or daughter, and also, if it feels threatend in any way, it will attack, u were just standing there looking at it and it doesnt know you or it can sence fear too, when a lion sences fear it will attack, so just leave it alone, stupied dumbass, next time, just dont even bother it!!!
