Great tutorial, I have looked at loads and this is the best so far it will help me a lot as I shot a video a few years back and the lighting ruined the footage as it was all wrong dark in places and too shadowy in other places, so I thought why not try and convert it to a cartoon effect see if that helps. Sure - under the render options you can select "Edges" and it will only render the black edges.

I don't know if you can import that CS4 plugin into CS3... haven't tried.

Now if you want to simulate the cartoon effect there's a lot of individual effects you can apply to get roughly the same look. The first is Posterization which reduces the number of colors. The other you might want to use is find edges.

The problem with these tools is they tend be rather noisy although I'm sure there's some expression that can fix that.
