  • Pls dont say tht brother immanuelangelo1 that all malayalis are alike. Even I'm a malayali and proud to say that. We respects Raja sir like anything for the best of malayalam songs came from him only. And most of the malayalis have the same feeling like mine to him. And to the person who has uploaded this 'great finding' needs a 'great' appreciation. STUPID, IDIOT, CRACK NUT.. from wer did u get th similarity between both..??

  • i think this is work of some dirty malayale mind only malaylees can think of such great ideas

    like insulting tamil legends

  • periya kandupidippu naaye

  • Ilayaraja, copy cat... What an oxymoron... Moron...

  • fuck u..mofo

  • adasaniyan pidichcha paradesi, tharuthalai, kaadhu irukka illai avinchu pochchaa...ilavu eduthavanae...

  • Hey dude just clearly check pls... Never... Raja is Unique..!!

  • May be even A R Rahman was inspired by some songs, uses auto tune and samples that are seen in many songs, BUT ILAYARAJA SIR?

  • Music IS an art of copying, otherwise we won't be listening to many many songs in classical ragas! Why don't you feel happy about it as he brought some otherwise unknown melodies to down to earth people?

  • Gnana suniyam.. thevidiya paiya..

  • hey idiot, even to find similarities between songs you need music knowledge. You cannot just say that it is copied. As far as this music is concerned what crap is that english song. I guess 300 yrs of British rule not only made India poor but also created poor self esteem among some Indians who can't digest a brilliant composition by IR.

  • Olunga kaatha clea panitu kelu thambi .. enga da similarity

  • fuck off!

  • aah come on ya its not the same..

  • The scale is same.. the tune is way different. Like two songs in the same "Raagam"... Come on, grow up..

  • There is no question that hes a great musician. But this music from Mouna ragam is copied.

And this has been done so smartly that no one would realize it until someone try to compare it.

Anyway this needs some talent too.Being musician myself I understand there is a huge hidden similarity between these two musics. Please don't swear at the up loader unnecessarily.

  • Then say at which place and which time it is copied?

and dont say this matter to any of the raja fans as u will be slawed by them

    at the next moment

Warning: Dont suspice the talent of our raja

  • @elecgctara I agree....

  • Please get an appointment with an ENT specialist for yourself :)

  • Mother fucker... fuck your whole generation..... fuck you, YOU fuckin' FUCK!!!!

  • @dragonbuster1210 It is not fair to abuse everyone for what he has done.

  • a** h*le......know music and then comment.u are criticizing a legend of indian music.

  • arivu ketta loosu mandaiyaa... enna daa similaarity irukku ? Raja sir enna.... ARR maathiri appadiye poduravaraa enna ???

  • FUCK YOU BASTARD..........................

  • bullshit ... raja sir is a genius.. he does not copy anyone .... remove this from youtube

  • maybe musicians will copy, nt God(IR).

  • not same...u must go back 2 music school....

  • @ CrimsonKing589051

Well its two different things to base your song on a particular raga, and to make a song out of a tune of a particular instrument in an overture or an interlude of a musical composition.. One doesnt need to be a genius to do such a thing, in manufacturing terms its called "assembling" in IT terms its called "cut copy paste work":-):-)

  • @rprasannakumar I agree but this is not a case of cut copy paste, if that's what you are implying. And music is assembled from notes and sometimes, whole clusters may bear similarities. Indian music is melodically rich and variations are easily established but try listening to blues or hard rock and you will find many songs with strong resemblances, especially the riffs. That is not copying, at least the vocal melody or one inst section should be IDENTICAL.

  • @ CrimsonKing589051

Well its two different things to base your song on a particular Raga and making a song out of a particular instruments tune in a musical composition....

  • @onetrueindian Not really, as I said, a lot of pre 20th century classical music is not covered by copyright and licks from famous classical compositions are widely found in rock/pop music. It is so ubiquitous and such an intrinsic part of music that people may develop similar passages without realizing the source.

  • @ CrimsonKing589051

My argument is not with respect to this particular video, its not this song i am talking about. But i appreciate that you do accept the fact that Mr. Illayaraja cannot call some of the songs that he calls as his own "as his own".

  • @onetrueindian I agree that there are some songs that he did copy though I have not found any instance from his peak or later, most of them seem to be from the late 70s. Copying is copying and whatever the reasons, it was wrong. But it does not follow that with internet, we will find out that all his 2000+ compositions are copied. He is a very original and talented composer.

  • @CrimsonKing589051 Perhaps, we should dig out instances of Beethoven imitating Mozart and once we have brought down the holy cows, we can be happy and lose the ability to celebrate music.

  • It's probably the same mode, that's all. This cannot be called copying at all. There are a few songs of his, mainly from the late 70s, that he did copy from Western music, notably the Simon Dupree song Kite (Akkara Cheemai) but this is not one of them. If this is a copy, then about 90% of metal bands would face plagiarism suits and they don't.

  • The world is shrinking and With technologies like internet which is making everything available for everyone to know, people like illayaraja can only spend thier rest of thier days with abated breath and wait for that day when the world would start to see them as plagarists...

  • and off course i can openly challenge Mr. Illayaraja ... "chitu kuruvi" one of his songs in the Bhagyaraj movie chinna veedu is a flute tune lifted from a western classical music composition... Mr.Illayaraja cannot deny it ...

  • Lately i have been listening to western classical music, right now i am hooked to Mozarts compositions and i must say this you will be amazed at how many tunes you will find in those compositions resembling what Mr. Illayaraja calls as his own compositions...

  • @onetrueindian Mozart's or a lot of pre 20th century classical music for that matter is in the public domain and is fair game. Western classical composers invented all the motifs that you hear in rock and pop and any other kind of light music, so sections of music from those compositions can be identified in the works of any composer who composed in traditional tone (i.e. pre Schoenberg). And anyway, resemblance does not tantamount to copying.

  • @onetrueindian Further, even tunes composed in an Indian style necessarily have to be drawn from Carnatic or Hindustani raga system. Ilayaraja might change the notes and not strictly follow a particular raagam but it is still BASED on ragas. There's no other way. All light music is adapted from the source, viz, classical music. One doesn't need the tools of internet to work that out.

  • WHO IS THIS FUCKER. RAJA is GOD OF MUSIC man.everyone know that

  • intha mathiri illaiyarajava mosama pesuna kanndu pidichen entral kolai panniduven.

Raja always Raja(King of the music).

  • Dai poramboku, sevitu naye....enga da match aguthu...

  • hey you people dont have ears or not? these two are not at all matching.., listen to the music first and then post

  • Dai lavadeygapal.I dont think this tunes are same.Isai gnaaani is our god of music.Go fuck urself asshole.....!!!Fucking idiot...

  • Fuckoff

  • Both are different tunes. The Moron who posted this has to see an ENT first or if necessary a Pysiciatrist.

  • both the songs are from different ages.. only il's versin is far older than the giorgio's...

    both are masterpiece.

  • i dont know music but even to me i could not find a tiny ounce of resemblance..this video is created with malicious intentions only..nothing else to say!

  • dai mutta kuthi... pothikkitu poda naya

  • I see no link between the Mounaragam track and the Flash Dance soundtrack.

z3usbm should have his ears checked!

  • ever heard of lullaby u moron.. aaraaro aariraro evan padinalum athey feel than..its the same..lullabys are meant to emulate the soothing feel.. no where both are similar .. asingam pudichavane..

  • illayaraja never can be a copycat// he is a music god...

  • All this is bluff....... Ilayaraja is creative......... Even rest all copies music from his music....

  • de fool only the scales are same not the tune. nee en munnadi irunthirunthena naa onna kolla panni iruppaen. raja is god of music

  • Hey dont use the copy cat word to Raja.... he is the only indian who scores good and pure music which makes anyone to feel happy or sad... thats the power of his music.....His music makes you ro rejoice and cry... just listen Raja's music in this uploaded video... we can feel the natural and freshness in his music, and then listen the Flash dance movie theme, it looks so artificial... That is Raja.... The God of Music!!!!

  • i dont feel any music copied from this song. any way there are only 8 ragams, out of this 8 ragha how much songs u could compose, ???????

  • he isnt copy cat like his son!! but this video has a point anyways!!!

  • you mindless moron just go before the mirror and says yourself all the bad words in the world..illayaraja composed this tune for his debut orchestrial album how to name it...the album was his 15 year of previous innovation of his musical relish but the album got released in the year 1986.that has only 10 tracks.but he composed 17 tracks for that album.but the time period and money has not let to put that tracks on the record.so he used that in his movies as much as songs and as like themes.

  • if you have talent .compose one hit song in Tamil .Music lovers murmuring your song in future years...

  • From renowed composers you will get to see some similarities ony because of the base raaga they choose. Ilayaraja is himself an encyclopedia the experience that comes over a period of time cannot be commented that silly. Please get to know the great work did by such legendary composers and then pass on your comments.

Honestly there is no similarity in these tunes. Ilayaraja does lot of homework/ground work given a situation and his talent was shown in symphony arrangment he did in london ..

  • hey , fucker .. maybe this music composer inspired raja sirs music wat??

  • I am a die hard fan of Raja. However, I agree that you have a point - this seems to be possibly an inspiration for Mouna Ragam theme music. But please do not say copy cat. Look for some other posts with such title and you will know what a COPY CAT means.

  • which stupid had post dis fuck off u man

  • we feel y raja sir is not awarded grammy, such a great composer from pannaipuram, pls dont post such nasty ones as you can do

  • Dai asingam pudichavanae.......enga da similarity irukku......ko___hi ya mooditu iru......

  • pathetic comparison!

  • So the great ilayaraja is a copycat. If only more people had listened to his songs

more and more lifts would have been uncovered ilayaraja is lucky in that matter.

  • Hi please remove the video or at least the title....there is no any similarity between your comparison. Ilayaraja sir is our inspiration and this title somewhat bring in pain in our heart....

  • We don't need a Mukundh B to show stunts to down llayaraja nor to praise ARR or others. Are you first ready to accept yourself a copy following ALL simple rules of LIFE. Why you copy all by:

    1) talking,

    2) breathing,

    3) walking,

    4) eating & doing many..

--- similar things like all HUMANS on earth.

    If you prove this:

WRONG -- You are a Mental Patient or inhuman

RIGHT - Better remove 'Copy Cat Illayaraja' & put 'Copy Cat Mukundh B'.

Even if you can't do good STOP polluting bad into society.

  • Well I would say that the chord patterns may be matching but definitely not the notes! If you think that the musical sequence that you have compared with Raja Sir's composition is great, then it would be apt to say GREAT THINKERS THINK SIMILAR!! But please dont say that it is a copy! Thank you..!

  • thu.. fucking similiraties are found... try sumthing else pa.. ena ar fan ah nee/ ??

  • @haaa28 avan sonana unata ar fan nu? en sambandame ilama pesure pa nee? yaaru enanu therinjikamale sanda podurada niruthunga? THERE IS NOT EVEN A SMALL SIMILARITY BETWEEN THIS TWO TRACKS.

  • I find no similarity.

  • namala sandhozha paduthura entha vizhayamum copy adhica enna adikalana enna..... pothikitu urupadiyana velaya parunga sir.... music onuthan.. arr irundha enna ilayaraja na enna.... they want us to be happy.... praise them both even all the musicians.....

  • dont try to down his image spoiled ! No one can reach to his feet at his knolwedge levels. The audio pieces are not matching.

  • SEEMS TO BE SIMILAR....BUT I DON'T THINK THIS IS COPIED...

  • illyaraja sir fans saying AR is a copycat and AR fan saying illayaraja a copycat is pathetic, stop embarrassing ur yourself

  • different sounds used.. mean different instrument.. but tune same..!! ir sc bastard..

  • The tunes are very different, though the chords used are similar.

Obviously they would sound similar ... but that doesn't make the maestro a copycat. You will find many different tunes with similar sounding chords, but very different musical characters.

Another example in this same chordset is the title song from the 1980's Hindi serial Lifeline.

  • sense less.......

not even a single note has coincidence

jus don make the legends down

  • I am a music director myself plz... vinaddu is my recent album. Someone did a video layover of existing movie on my composition posted as a video response here (not to discredit the original work but to see how it fits), and I never viewed it as a wrong thing. Audio is original and video is an experimental copy from a song that visually resembles my notes. Similarly the maestro might have picked up cues from nature/visuals/others music etc but his work is original.

  • completely two different tunes in my humble opinion

  • @apmusicful

From 0:32 it's similar. IRR's version is faster, that's all. Indian music directors and film makers are very clever when it comes to stealing from others. They make a lot of improvisations in order to avoid charges of plagarism.
