@TheMihaeli yeah! treble is the fuck**ng problem with marshall. i had to change the capacitors.... orange drop make a real diferent sound. bigger sound and punch. but it wasn´t cheap and i was thinking about buying orange th30 or blackstar serie one 50.

Went to a guitar shop today and played a Schecter C-1 Custom through two amps; the Mesa Dual Rec (into a mesa 412 with celestion v30's) and the Marshall JVM410H (into a Marshall 412 with celestion g12t-75). The Marshall blew the Dual Rec out of the water. I loved it.

great vids but you tone chasers out there the best amps to my ears is a mesa rec and a marshall the jvm does blues to metal the mesa rec does hard rock and metal i have yet to get a good blues sound out of a rec but guess thats not what they had in mind when mesa put it out i had all of these amps except the deizel so save yourself money and get a marshall and a mesa and call it a day

I've head a TSL 100, it's way better amp than the JVM, and it sounds great without any pedals or boosts. Hope Ola will test the TSL 100 someday :)

@BASDRE2 I owned the TSL 60 and TSL 100. They both are excellent for metal. The TSL models have very high gains prior to the introduction of the JVM models. If you trim down the mids, your sound will sound like this video. TSL amps are very clean and bright. If you put an Ibanez tube screamer in front, you'll sound this good too. The JVMs just offers a little more versatility but essentially they sound very similar...in my opinion.

@gearslut69 ......thats a hard one to call......ive tried both and i fell in love with the mid crunch of the marshall....do not listen to anyone that badmouths either amp, if they are doing so then they do not know how to set them up....i would say neither is better than the other.... let your own ears be the judge of that........p.s: you are definetly listening to the right demo's being on fearedse channel....best representation of both amps!!!!...:)

@garfish111 The settings are(from 0 to 10): Master 2: 2.5, Resonance: 4, Presence: 3.5, Reverb: 0, Channel:OD2 Orange, Volume: 4, Bass: 0, Middle: 7, Treble: 5, Gain: 4

To get the thickness he has you need to dual track the guitars. And he is letting the Bass guitar handle the low end I believe.

I have the JVM too. I really dig the orange channels better than the red ones.

Set gain in 12 o clock with a Tubescreamer/Boss SD-1 in front as a boost.

Really sweet sound. I use EMG 81/60 and EMG707s, tight and metallish sound.. Something between american and british metal sound :)

@BenjaminLOfficial Well I can answer that(at least hopefully). It can depend on your pickups, guitar, etc. but he's using a tubescreamer for a "clean boost" (Setting the volume at max and gain at 0). From the video his settings are(From 0 to 10): Channel: OD2 Mode: Orange Resonance: 3 or 4 (Not sure) Presence:3 Overall Master Volume: 2 Channel volume: 3 Bass: 0 Middle: 7 Treble: 5 Gain: 3.5 Reverb: 0 Again these are his settings based on what I saw so they may not be entirely accurate.

I assume there are V30's in your mesa cab? I'm using a JVM and TS and a 57, and i can't get the beefiness you've got going on here, played about with mic placement quite a bit..

Heard the aule JVM can be a bit picky about what speakers you force it through, I'm running some G12-75's, but have never been majorly happy with them..

@AdamDallas I have a 1960B Marshall cab and a Carvin Legacy cab with V30s. I favor the Legacy cab for my JVM since the mids are more prominent in that cab, and the high end is a little tamer.

@orionthefuture Yeah, I've found the JVM is pretty high on the treble end, dare I even say fizzy if not eq'd right, I have to EQ mine quite oddly (start from 0 and add to taste, rather than the usual start at half way then cut or boost)

Really wanna try it through some V30's though, I use the 1936 cab, and I know there's a 1936 with V30's in them, wanna try and get my hands on one!

Nice, some kind of a "beefy" type of distortion. What channel/mode did you use? I tried the 205H a week ago and it blew me away. I'm not a metal guy, but I think it can handle high gain sounds just as well as crunchy and clean stuff. Awesome video, amazing amp
