  • This brings back memories...I used to LOVE swimming with my horses, almost as much as they did :) Enjoy your time with them!

  • Horses can swim!! Wow but there so big and heavy!

  • A lot of champion horses train by swimming. Its less resistance on the body. Easy was to get a good workout. Ask yourself, which seems easier: 1200lbs running on a hard ground or 1200lbs in a body of water. hmmmm... no brainer to me!

Glad your horse enjoyed a nice dip!

  • Please tell me there's no saddle in there. O.0

  • i know its stupid for me to ask but wear you riding bareback cuz i though i saw a saddel but i was probley a littel wave or his mane

  • A lot of horses love to swim or lay down in water. It feels good to them. I'm sure it feels great to not have to stand up. we let our horses play in the pond durring the summer, not unsupervised of course.

  • I use to ride mine in lakes, rivers. They just love it. It is good for them.

  • well iused to do this with all my horses the horse loved it

  • It's kinda sad how good owners have to be so careful what they post on the internet for fear that the animal rights vultures will swoop in and nitpick every little thing and ruin it for everyone. I guess they're jaded from watching abuse all the time. I would HATE to be the pet of one of these sheltering moms who don't let their pets do ANYTHING fun. FUCK THAT. People believe that dogs shouldn't play with rope toys because shaking it is "snapping the neck" PUH-LEESE. My dog PLAYS!

  • i heard swimming is good for horses:P not sure my horse would like it tho, maybe my pony, but not my horse, hes a bit of a wimp with water :P

  • It always amazes me to see how well animals like deer, moose, and horses can swim. You wouldn't think that they swam so well with their thin legs, but they can really go!

  • Its is just pathetic when a person who shares such wonderful moments with her best friends can't even share them because people who have probably never been on a horse critises her for it! I take my horses every where I can, trail riding, swimming, camping anything for the last15 years! And they love it all or they would throw a fit and act scared. Freakin morons.. let the girl have her wonderful memories!

  • that's the way the Native Americans used to break horses, they can't get away and it's more relaxing in the water! We do it every summer with our horses, too.....this horse definately loves it! He keeps staying in the water!

  • sweet video lol

  • Where are the crocodiles ?

  • my horse wont stay out of the lake when we go there. they love the water.

  • omg that must have been so much fun!!!!

  • OMG people, horses love swimming and they are good at it!! She is def. telling the truth about them liking it. Our horses LOVE water and go to any spots they can to roll and if you ride across a deep creek they try to lay down in it! Your so lucky to be able to do this with him! you must be close!

  • u 2 must have a really strong bond :D

  • I used to take my horses swimming all summer long when I was a kid. It was so much fun and they loved it.

  • Sea horse!

  • My Sisters would do this all the time with our Horses, they just love it, I've always been amazed at how they can swim so well, definetly one of my favorate things in life.

  • you both are really beautiful keep it up that looks super fun

  • Im so jealous

  • Its not Admiral, its T I T A N I C ! :))))

  • @RussianBear842 titanic would sink,the horse didn't sink.

  • i am so EFFING JEALOUS!!!

  • thats so fun! my gelding and i did that a few times before we lost him

  • On hot summer days, my horse trots when I bring him to the beach, I have to slow him down. horses love to swim and it's a great muscle therapy if u go on a regular basis cauz they stretch their legs and back to the max. Plus, salt water really helps to heal thrush and other wounds on the coat! :)

  • your living the life lucky!

  • cool.

  • It`s always great when horses go in water,I know a pony thats going in the water but he doesnt start swimming he`s walking and walking, maybe he was a divers befor he bacame a pony!=)Love him

  • sea horse!!! :D

  • So he was swimming with the girl on him?

  • Lucky! That looks like so much fun!

  • That's an amish jetski =))))))))))))

  • could he touch or was he like swimming?

  • co to jest ? co ty mu robisz.

  • which swimming styles if done regularly will make you grow taller?

  • Der Beweis: Weiber die reiten ham kleine Titten.

  • I do this on my horse in lake casian, the thing is tho you should get off his back when he is swimming and swim at the side of him so he's not strugling. im nt critisising btw x

  • Naww, this is wonderful. I've always wanted to try :')

  • When you get in over your head/horse's head - you shouldn't be on his back; too much weight. Dismount, and hang onto his mane; help him by swimming yourself.

  • yes lots fun.Wish I could of been doing it too.

  • if i had my own horse i'd do that ,too:)

  • That is so cool!!

  • haha horse's, litterally the bet ALLL terrain vehical lmao

  • wow im in love she is beautiful

  • Comment removed

  • Damn! I could do them both!

  • HORSIEEEEEEEEE!

  • Wow, some people are so lucky. I wonder if they realize it??

  • @jtaforJesus

If you're being serious and not sarcastic, I do realize it. This is me in this video, and this horse had to be put down the beginning of the summer just 6 months ago. And I realize how incredibly lucky I was to have had him and the experiences he blessed me with

  • @iagobuppcnkid

    i am sorry.

  • lol the first time i took my friend and her horse swimmin her horse didnt know how to swim and it sunk i had to hook my horse to the reins to pull it back up.....she knows how to swim now just took a lil practice

  • great video! isnt swimming with horses SOOOO much fun! quarter horses are usually the best for swimming...they move freely and comfortabley...so nice choice in horse for swimming!

  • Yeah swimming a horse is a different experience. Pretty cool. My Quarter Horse at the time loved it. He'd even stop and balance on one back leg. And they can haul the mail swimming too don't ask me how.

Only thing that sucks is if they decide to 'unload' near the swimming area... you kinda have to avoid the depth charges at that point!

  • THEN JAWS COMES UP DUN DUN ! EATS GIRL RAWWWRR

  • That looks like so much funn!!

  • das pferd schwimmt nicht es paddelt um sein leben seid ihr alle krank und seht das nicht?? und sowas im i-net zu stellen is genau so schlimm die welt besteht auch nur aus dumme leute (opfaH) wa idioten

  • that's a kick ass jet ski...

  • i Do this with my pony but i have to swim next to him cuz he is to small to hold me :) he follows me in the waer like "Mamma why are you leavin me??" then when he's tired i throw a lead rope over his back and he falls asleep in the shallow while i get to swim more ^^nothin beats the things you can enjoy on a good horses back :)<3

  • I'M ON A HORSE, YAH!!!

  • wil je je paard laten verzuipen ofzo,ga niet zo diep!!!

  • did the horse even care lolz?? wheneva i ride my horse in the lake it goes beserk haha, hes getting better tho. he jst gets xcitd sumtimes i tink

  • omg i am going to go swiming with my horse this summer and i am so nervous..... With my luck my horse would be the one horse in the world that doesnt know how to swim lol

  • That's SOOO much fun!! I've done that once with my Tennessee Walker. The first time we swam, my trainer was like, "Don't pull on the reins or you'll drown him . . . " o.O kinda scary. Your horse looks like he's having fun though :)

  • ICH LIEBE DIESES VIDEO

  • do u go to indian rock in saugaus cuz theres a horse there named that

  • Lol, cute! Do you happen to have a saddle on that horse? : )

  • That Must Have Been Sooo Fun!

  • @Celina0100 always is! Nothing compares

  • @alyssanjo i can only do this after winter cause its the only time the river is full enough :d its soo much fun :) we r training my horse to swim she is getting really good at it her mum is a quarer horse and is amazing at it i first did it wen i was 9ish and i wanted to go deeper than the saaddle so i kept asking if we could and we exadentally came across this really deap puddle the horse my freind was on is about 16hh and he also had to swim :O it was sooo fun :))

  • @alyssanjo Is it a little like a motorboat only a lot cooler?

    I envy you y lot! ;)

  • @Celina0100 not for the horse

  • @talkingtree4 actually he loved it. They would literally run to the lake and we could not stop them from going in. After a long, tiring run, wouldnt you like to jump in a nice cool pool? Well that is how it is for them. And we would NEVER put our horses in a dangerous situation or make them do something they are not comfortable with. Even when we ride by this lake in the winter when it's frozen we have to do all we can to prevent them from heading for the lake!

  • @alyssanjo i was about to say somthing but i read this and i was like o well thn u know wht ur doin and vry well i will b on my way lol

  • @alyssanjo What would work better for the horse (I'm just giving a tip not criticizing)is if you sort of lay down on his/her back and swum with the horse but held onto the reins... :]

  • @talkingtree4 Horses love swimming you moron.

  • @talkingtree4 that's just dumb

  • @talkingtree4 live a little... The horse didnt mind.

  • what a great video, thanks for posting! Beautiful

  • She looks like amazon :)

  • so, this is my horse, Bandit in this video. and this makes me cry so much when I see this, as Bandit had to be put down yesterday, and I miss him so much.

  • @iagobuppcnkid wtf how is this your horse

  • @TheOriginalCrystal i took the video of her and bandit and uploaded it onto my channel

  • horses can do anything except fly. i love em to death!

  • OMG i would love to do that it looks amazing the horse must love water

  • SUPER FUNNY

  • C'est trop bo jadore !! epui ceux qui disent povre betes son nul car ils adore nager malheureusement j'abite a 600 kilometre de la mer et je nai jamais eu la chance dy aller avec ma jument :'(

  • looks like the horse is enjoying itself! :)

  • hey soooo cute not i ride my horse like that all the time jk its soooo cute lol

  • I am constantly surprised by how well horses can swim. Looking at their anatomy I just wouldn't think it.

  • pauvre bete

  • i had a filly that loved water like this too, except i had to ride 10 mile trail to get there. When we get there she would bolt for the water and not to drink. one time she decided to roll with a brand new saddle on ( i didn't get it off fast enough for her) BTW massive soaking in water kinda kills leather.

  • truschnella?!Sehr geiles wort :DDD

  • damke!

  • I wish I could do that with my horses!

  • Lucky, i took my horse smokey swimming. Hes half draft so he could swim very well. We would get in the water, then he decided no and reared up, spun around and went to the shore, leaving me in the water. I didnt know he could move so fast.

  • i thought u meant war admiral lol

  • haha well admiral is just his nick name because he looks exactly like war admiral

  • is that real

  • yeahhhh. that's me and my horse bandit swimming in tucker lake

  • Comment removed

  • He is a Quarter Horse and we never swim with tack. We always use nylon stuff when we go swimming. I would assume swimming with leather tack would not be too too good for it.

  • That is sooooo cool!! I'm jealous!

  • @horselover1506 I believe shes bareback ;) and, when bringing a horse swimming people generally just have a nylon bridle or halter with a lead rope or clip on reins so youre not ruining expensive tack

  • @horselover1506 it`ll ruin your leather go bareback

  • @horselover1506 Yes- swimming in a saddle and leather bridle can be very destructive to the tack whether it is saltwater or fresh. (believe me...i would know!) usually swimming is best completely bareback and nylon bridle/halter. besides, who wants a soggy pad and metal stirrups wandering around your bare feet? :)

  • @horselover1506

    i go swimming bareback.

water isnt great for tack and the stirrups dont help

  • @horselover1506 A sea horse, silly.

  • @horselover1506 iT's not really good for the tack to swim with it, but if you do it once or twice and care after the water for it with tack grease (is that the word for it, i dunno) there is no problem...

  • I want to have that experience.

  • Very nice beautiful horse

  • dude, that's so freakin cool!!!!!!!

  • cool^^

  • i've done this its soo fun....especially when the horse startes swimming! insted of just walking underwater

  • Lol Cuteeh !! [;

  • oh i love horses sooooooo mutch and i would want to go in the water that deep FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it is fun, be make sure that you have trust. my friend owned a horse that is no wmine, but she tried this and the horse wouldn't let her go deep with her, but i did it and she went in... she loves playing in water. ...check our my video...and guess the age of my horse!

  • that looks like a lot of fun. I've never ridden that deep on horseback, but I'd like to.

  • Its experiences like these that most people won't understand.

A friend of mine and me used to ride all night long through the farm lands and into town, even through the drive through at a local fast food joint. We always would stop to breath it all in, watching the fire flies on many summer nights, listening to the sounds of the earth breath.

We always deflected to the dairy barn later that night and talked about how it was sad most wouldn't ever get to experience these simple things in life.

  • and roll in the hay afterward

  • So true. I have worked as a ranch hand, cleaned up an outdoor horse stall up to 2 feet below the ground surface, moved in a bivy tent and my belongings, and cooked on a coleman stove. Some thought I was poor. The fact is I was more rich than I ever was as a $50/hr corporate manager in Las Vegas with major casino resorts.

  • @WarCowboy Most people don't even get a chance to do things like this.

  • @WarCowboy too bad i dont have a horse. thn i would be able to have expeirences like tht.

  • @WarCowboy i was thinkin that when i got done with my ride the other day, we went to a people park, and most of the people knew how to act around horses, and i got in the water and thought, these people have no clue what its like!!!

  • @WarCowboy that sounds like how life should be

  • @1pr1nces1 Indeed...

My friend Jason was something awesome at a young age.

I miss our friendship something terrible, as he was more a brother to me than a friend.

He became a Lance Corp. in the USMC as a scout sniper and was killed in Iraq in 05 from an IED.

He told me in letters from "the sand box" how he missed these simple things and got caught up dreaming about it throughout the tour. He said we'd ride again once he was home to cross "the border" as we called our trips in humor. One day..

  • @WarCowboy aww, that's so sad =( My condoleances. Jason sounds like a true friend. So sad the best always die young =(

  • @1pr1nces1 Yeah that seems to be true a lot of the times, or maybe we just recognize them the most once they aren't here. He was something else though. Paid his own tuition to a private school and was the first male inducted into a formerly all girls school called "Stuart Hall", He made history more than once in this area. Anyhow if you want to look him up, just google "Jason C, Redifer", He has a good story. Thanks.

  • @WarCowboy

Ha, we all laughed at him being the first co-ed student in the previous all girls school at first, but he informed me he liked the odds, no one could argue with him. Worked 3 jobs at 15yrs old, to pay for it all without a lot of help from his parents and yet still had time for girl friends and buddies. You don't find that sorta dedication and quality in a lot of people at any age.

  • @WarCowboy... Agree whole heartedly with you!!!! My sisters and i have done that sort of thing for years. Drive thru's, midnight rides, swimming in the river, chasing kangaroo's and jumping logs bareback.... ahhh the simple joys in life :)

  • cmf4321 you are an idiot.

  • Wow that looks like so much fun!! Your so luckey!

  • Is that HEAVEN? If Saint Peter calls my name and leads me to a place like this with girl and horse, I will say it sizes up to the word.

  • nothing irresponsible about me letting my horse walk in water. want a comparison? i am not even 1/10th of his weight, have you ever walked in water while holding something that was 10 pounds, say a small child? did you drown? why would i want to kill my horse, i have been riding for ten years, i am not a beginner.

  • he isn't even swimming! he's walking, nothing irresponsible about it. he loves water and i'm not just going to turn him out and let him run in too deep without any protection. get the facts first mmm k

  • That's one fo the things I want to do before I die xD

  • Nessie xD

  • Beautiful and fun for both.

  • that looks like so much fun.

  • Yes, the horses get drowned,

if it falls immideately in water, if he is pulling something very heavy in water. I am not sure how true this is but they say that if the ears of the horse get into water then it gets worse.

  • i can bet that bake1203 has never ridden a horse at the beach. let alone ridden a horse. they dont drown they arent even swimming they are walking up to their neck and even if they were swimming they would be fine. if they couldnt do it, they wouldnt go forward. horses are some of the smartest animals dont take them for granted

  • horses love water don't they! well sept all the ones i have had, they think a puddle is too much for them! yeh my tb real lives up to its strong fearless reputation dont he? maybe he should take swimming lessons with your horse, as long as he he had horsey arm bands and a rubber ring he'll be ok! wat do you think?

  • that horse is walking on the ground in the bottom of the lake.

  • Sorry if this sounds silly but I'm curious...will a horse ever swim out too far and drown or like human's do they understand limits and realize it's deep out further...?

Great vid. by the way! =)

  • i think it depends on the experience and intelligence of the horse, they may swim out far and realize it's deep and swim harder, but when you keep a horse in a stall, natural instincts like that disappear completely and some horses won't even touch water. so it just depends... does that make sense?

  • Thanks. Yes it does make sense. =)

I hope to own a horse someday and want to do my best at keeping them tame yet still brave...have that balance of trusting their instincts like you mentioned. =)

    Thanks again for the info.

  • you should wear jeans and t-shirt

  • Very appealing video but it would have been more appealing if she had been wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

  • I agree with you!

  • My horses luv swimming ecxept 4 1

  • FOCUS god-dammit.

  • trop bien

  • Hot girl and cool video.

  • wow, looks like im not the only one to go swimming with my horse

  • wow your horse must really trust you O_O i tried that once but the horse only went to the shallow part before it spooked lol u are very lucky D;

  • just to clear up any confusion, the bottom of this lake is sandy, no rocks or anything, and it is completely gradual, absolutely no drop-offs. it gets deep really slowly, and the deepest part is way near the center far away and is maybe a few feet deeper. also, my horse is half swimming/half walking. so it would be impossible for him to drown. it was really hot and the reason i kept turning him side to side was to keep him from charging out into the deep deep stuff like he wanted. i love him! :)

  • Beauty video.

    Freedom & trust.

  • it looks like fun..but what if the horse sliped?!

  • He is swimming.. he cannot slip.

  • great video as to how to take a horse into deep water - you don't lean on the shoulders or neck and you rein without drawing the nose into the water. great job

  • Kool!!!

  • i am just saying IF he slipped, which didn't happen, he COULD'VE gotten hurt otherwise great vid what state is that in cause its really pretty there it looks like
