i broke my wrist for the first time when i was 3

and broke lots of things after , till now

though i only have the mildest form of the brittle bone disease

but i do swim , ride bicycle , i love both , though keep the muscles

strong just walk a lot do some exercises with the muscles

my bones are still in a reasonable good condition !!!

oh and to be out in the sun is also very good , not to long

but sunlight contains natural vitamin D very important for the bones

I have O.I. when knowledgeable medical professionals encounter Me, they all want to see My blue sclera and how flexible I am. I've broken about 30 something bones, and haven't yet reached My 30's. We are rare people, and most of us do everything anyone else can, we just have to be more careful with ourselves when we do.

i was only told when i was 16 that i had osteogenesis imperfecta type 4. ive never meet anyone with my condition ive broken so many done that the doctors have stopped counting and stopped xraying any small breaks to hear someone else story givese me hope and i hope that this will help my future husdan understand things. oh just a woring to all dont rub a guys back they will claps and brake your arm

I'm reading Handle With Care by Jodi Picoult. It's about a family raising a girl named Willow with osteogenesis imperfecta Type III. By the time she was 6 she broke 52 bones. She had severe type III. She broke 7 bones in the womb. and 2 more when she was born. And they say the sthrea or soemthing in her eyes flash unholy blue when she breaks a bone. And Natalie is one of the few to grow past 3 feet tall if she has type 3.

This was a very nice story! Right I'm doing a research here in Guatemala with the children diagnosticated of OI but we're rising funds to make them the genetic test because here It doesn´t exist. I hope I can help this 27 kids I have with OI for giving them the right treatment and make of their lifes someting amazing

I'm 35 and I have type I OI. I've had 40+ breaks and many surgeries, but I am active and my condition is not obvious. Natalie reminds me so much of myself in her lifestyle, activities and approach to living with OI. Natalie, you have a great attitude - stay strong and keep smiling!

i have OI type 1. i have had roughly 37 brakes but i have been pretty good since i have been on Pamidronate treatment for my bone density. i have two younger sisters that have it and we all got it from our father. i am 14 years old and i am doing heaps better. babyblue2k3 i have never met anyone with type 2 before and it good to see that you are staying strong and i hope that you get better xox

i have Osteogenesis Imperfecta type 2 and i was born with three of my ribs broken. i have broken over 36 times both hand and legs. It wasn't easy for me cause the doctors didn't know what was wrong with me and say i wouldn't live to the age of 13 at the rate my bones are been broken i did 3 surges and one failed. I have been walking with sticks since i was 7 until now. Even though am older now i still have very powerful bone pains that sometimes i cant even walk. I still thank God for life

Me and my dad have this too and I go to Louisianna for treatments. I have 39 broken bones but I only have had 1 surgery. Sorry you got stuck with this disease. But i guess my dad had it worse he has over 400 broken bones.
