root your phone, uninstall metro navigator, turn down brightness to at most 50%, set application to update data less often, and try to use wifi when you can to avoid using 4g or 3g (that suck up the battery super fast because it boosts the signal to get better connection) mine lasts more than 12 hours if i do all this plus i text sometimes and play checkers a lot...

@AshFL23 hey i saw your question and i think you should take that phone back and get another one. My phone doesn't do that. I have had phones before that have and it may be an app or file that's corrupted. So you may also try an antivirus app. Or restore your phone. That should fix it.

@naomijohnstone if u long press the song or ringtone it gives u an option to assign to a contact BUT u have to make sure the contact is saved to your phone and not your google account

@1007Rush those apps are garbage...think about it an app that runs all the time to kill apps and they start back up on there own...nothing more then a way to kill your battery even faster.

@LineghieTheGeek...My phone has recently started doing this a couple of times a week too. I'd say within the 2-3 weeks, I assume it has to do with an apdate that LG did but I'm not sure. Sometimes it reboots itself and other times it simply shuts itself completely off and I don't realize that its off until I pick up my phone and see that its off. Does anyone know if LG is addressing this issue?

@RogueGoverment my husbands phone is doing the same thing it is an issue that LG KNOWS about, and they are suppose to be creating a update to fix it, but who knows when...i guess we will see.

I noticed you said you won't be getting an extended battery because of design purposes and I felt the same way......but just to let you know, if you would find it interesting, ebay sells one with a different back cover design which I find more pleasing to the eye. So check it out, you may like it.

i had the huawei ascend which only last 4 hours but i made it last for more than 12 hours by turning off everything like navigation bluetooth and all that and plus running apps and kept the brightness really low not all the way off and huawei ascend is a piece of shit but it was the best phone on metro at the time but im lookin forward to gettin this phone

@Redosb i switched from the huawei, to this yesterday, ITS a way better phone, not sure if you had yours on a cm7 or not but i did, the esteem is very responsive, and my ex over at t-mobile was impressed with it. not the price so much but i own the phone out right with no data cap.
