Utterly beautiful! And quite sad too. Often when I come across someone in their 70s and in good health, I can't help but wonder that Gould could very well still have been alive. And what he would have accomplished in those 28 years.
Your draftsmanship is superb; as good as it gets. And your style lends itself very well to its subject. Your portraits have a quality of being at once ethereal and dream-like, and yet sharply lucid, in a way that makes them seem a very fitting visual analogue of Gould's playing.
I was going to try to say something in Japanese, but I haven't spoken it since high school and don't want to butcher it. I remember "ski-desu".
Sad but nice...

I hear you. What you wrote embodies our humbled souls: the souls re-kindled by his music.

I guess we can be thankful he didn't die as young as Mozart or Schubert.
I actually remember seeing his death announced on the News.
I was five years old. It was the same year Rubenstein died, and I couldn't comprehend why my grandma thought this was a big deal.
I thought she was talking craziness when she insisted that when I grew up I'd like Glenn Gould much better than Duran Duran or Kenny Rogers.
Something about Gould's playing has always transported me to my childhood.
