  • Thank you, and don't stop posting Welsh music please. :(

I hate that English junk that flows from the music channels. This is so different, and full with meaning! I love it!

  • @szalard

Ha ha...OK, I will continue to upload Welsh music but I have some other videos (unrelated to music) I may want to upload too! =)

  • @DistantDreamer93

    DistantDreamer's guide to Welsh Language? ;- )

  • @Szczepek90

Ha ha... no, not quite! =D

  • @szalard true welsh are non conformist, progressive, tolerant and radical free thinking internationalist people......unfortunately we have just been taking for advantage especially those who think english is superior....WHEN really we are all living on one blue dot in the vast unrelenting universe ond ry'n ni yma o hyd ;)

  • Why does "chwarae" turn into "warae" ? I don't think it's a treiglad, is it?

  • @Szczepek90

No, it isn't a treiglad... it's regional dialect. Dafydd Iwan is from Sir Gaerfyrddin (Carmarthenshire) and there they say 'warae' instead of 'chwarae' =)

  • @DistantDreamer93

Diolch yn fawr :) I brought up this topic when I went out to the pub with the other Celts(so to say; we tend to call ourselves Celts here in the Department) and nobody could give an answer they would be sure of. We were even afraid that Dafydd Iwan might have simply made a mistake in mutating ;)

  • @Szczepek90

    =) Noo :)

Actually, it's clever what he does. In Welsh 'B' mutates into 'M' > so Buckingham becomes Muckingham. "Muck" in English is something dirty or muddy. :P Haha.

  • @DistantDreamer93

Hah, I haven't noticed that :) That is clever, true. As far as I know, mutating foreign words is something that each Cymro and Cymrais decide for themselves - I guess that comes in handy for artists :)

  • @DistantDreamer93 welsh kept their dialects better than some english dialects! sad the welsh speaking dialects of South east valleys/ Sir fynwy and 'radnorshire' all but extinct

  • Sorry, I am crazy. After I wrote it down I saw that you actually made it clear in the openable window. :)

  • Thank you for this awesome song, and because you came back with great Welsh music! :) Interesting lyrics. Is he singing about prince\ Charles and his "attachment" to the Welsh culture? Thats weird, or I didnt understanded it right? I think so...

  • @szalard

He's talking about Prince Charles and he is being completley sarcastic throughout the entire song.. It's a satirical song, you see, and he's taking the mick out of Prince Charles.

He's called the Prince of Wales yet there is nothing Welsh about him, nor has he any interest in the country and its culture, heritage and history...

The nickname "Carlo" , that the Welsh use to describe him, is insulting.

    I hope that made sense!

  • @szalard

Also, the song is sung in a 'light' and 'humourous' way to take further mick out of prince Charles.

And no problem. Although, these may be the last few Welsh language music videos I upload for a while...

  • Thank you for this awesome song, and because you came back with great Welsh music! :)
