  • @lmbgemini this scene has nothing to do with sex.It is tender and passionate. They dont even think of having sex they feel a sparkle of love in their hearts.Read the book and youll understand that there is no sexual implications watsoever

  • This dialogue is better written in the 1996 version I think. In that version Rochester says :"what is the matter? You are shivering" and then Jane replies "I am cold". So "I am cold line" is the excuse given for shivering. It's better than her saying "I'm cold" out of the blue. She was hot but pretending to be cold of course!

  • That was steamy! : )

  • I think when he says "You will leave me then" doesn't mean sex. I studied Jane Eyre and have read it since, Mr Rochester would be happy with Jane's companionship after such a fright. However, there are undertones of attraction of course.

  • He wants to reward her for saving his life with what? Sex? Us women don't easily want to have sex with any man. Which makes it more of a reward for him. And besides, he'll want her more if she plays hard to get.

  • I went to watch this in the cinema was absolutely outstanding my fave bit too I needed a cold shower and lie down after this ;) lol

  • the truth is, there are some men that you would, unbeknownst to one's self when dignity was lost, take the pleasure to kiss in the least. Michael Fassbender appears to be one of those men.

  • @mskittykat1101

If you mean you'd f^ck him on the bathroom floor, then yes I agree.

  • @Genesislinx hahaha, oooh yeah, ride him like there's no tomorrow XD

  • Did anyone else melt when Rochester says "I knew you would do me good in some way?" His voice is so deep and rumbling here....hot.

  • i really love this new version! the words are extremely close to the book and the acting was great! this is one of my favourite versions along with the 1983......2006....eh.

  • @irenetoscana1

I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH YOU.JOAQUIN IS ONE OF THE MOST TALENTED ACTORS THAT HAVE EVER BLOSSOMED IN HOLLYWOOD.WATCH HIS MOVIES ESPESSIALLY QUILLS AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEAN.THE MAN CAN ACTUALLY ACT.HE MAKES YOU FEEL HIM.HIS ROLES ARE ALWAYS SO STRONG AND POWERFUL.ANYWAYS YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW,SO WHAT?THANKS FOR ANSWERING.

  • Completely agree with u

  • I was watching this and when Jane pulled away I was like, "Jane, you idiot!! I would have KIlLED for a chance like that!! You are blowing it, stupid!"

  • Ah closer, closer, little bit closer, little bit more...GODDAMMIT.

  • I would have sucked his face clean off.

  • @TheMrsegan LMFAOOOO.

  • 2006 version rules!

  • Watching this in the cinema, I felt so hot during this scene and had the STRONGEST urge to giggle like a schoolgirl.

  • She saids "im cold" and he just reply go, omg! what the fuck with Mr.Rochester??!!

  • When I saw this at the pics a woman up the back exclaimed "oh for gods sake!" when she pulled away, that go a few sniggers. Ended up having a massive Fassbender appreciation session afterwards with complete strangers in the cinema.

He is just so hot!!! wish I could get this on audio so I could play it in the car, could be a traffic hazard though LOL

  • If he was that close to me I don't think I could control myself.

  • has the actual fire scene been uploaded??

  • Mr. Rochester gets way too close for comfort!

  • this is my favorite version of this scene. Really captures the emotions.

  • i swear this man could read the f-n phonebook to me and i still would faint!!^^ love fassbender as rochester here!^^

  • I swear to Almighty God, she is soooo heartless to waste this HOT intimate touchy scene, without deliberating a VERY hot KISS by tongs -_- ????

  • if he was tht close to me i would be like are u gonna kiss me or do i have to kiss u...then i wouuld de cause omg he is sexy

  • Michael Fassbender OMG!

  • For both of you, narnian101, and KarlimarieRoberts, yes I do know what you're saying, "as if there's no, or better saying never be tomorrow -_- -_-

  • the first version of Jane Eyre i saw was this one, and im in love with it. these two acotrs are the best and take on the charaters very well. love this movie

  • I saw this version and let me say...

Michael Fassbender is the sexiest, hottest, toughest freaking Rochester I'VE EVER SEEN!!!

Everyone says he's "lacking emotion", but screw them! I own this version and watch it like there's no tomorrow!!

  • @kathryndreams I don't think you were suppose to see that comment, Kat..... :P

  • @KarliMarieRoberts Uhm, yeah.

  • so good fim...i love

  • omg, that deep sexy voice......

  • When the mens were gentlemen... and they repect if you don't want kiss them... yet xD

  • God, that face with that deep voice...

    *melts*

  • IF THERE WILL EVER BE ANOTHER JANE EYRE FILM I WANT YOU ALL JE FANS TO PICTURE JOAQUIN PHOENIX AT THE ROLE OF MR ROCHESTER.I THINK HE'D BE WONDERFULL.IF YOU AGREE POST YOUR COMMENTS CONCERNING JOAQUIN.I WANT YOUR POINT OF VIEW.I WOULD APPRICIATE IT IF YOU LET ME KNOW AS TO WHAT YOU THINK

  • @annetekoul Oh, my-holy-sweet-banana-cream-pie!! At first I really couldn't picture it ...at all.

So I quick searched for the proposal scene from Walk the Line and...... um....yes......just,

    absolutely YES!!

The only thing I can think of that would be a problem, is if he can't do the Northern English

accent, other than that though...I'm mean, like I said......

    YES!!!!!!!

  • @annetekoul I don't like Joachin Phoenix at all, sorry. He can't act and there's something unhealthy in him. Fassbender creates the Mr. Rochester I've always thought to the several times I read the book. Nobody was able to portray this character so well, up to now and I think nobody else will be.

  • geez guys...get your facts right....rochester was described as not particularly handsome in the book, but nowhere does it mention him as being ugly....

both Rochester and jane are described as being plain, ordinary looking...nothing too outstanding..and i think the director of this movie chose his cast well :)

  • Although I could never pick my favorite adaptation of jane eyre, this one got so much right :)

  • in my opinion he is the best Rochester I've seen,he is dark, sarcastic, intense and tender when necessary. very similar to the Rochester my own imagination has built. his gaze is captivating when he means it to be so. amazing actor Mr. Fassbender is..

  • Oh my.....what a man! *swoons*

  • My hearts melts every darn time I watch this. And his voice! Don't get me started . . .

  • eeeh, it's not my favorite...2006 bbc version got this scene much better, in my opinion at least.

  • OMG I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE AND ROCHESTER LOOKS PERFECT AND SO DOES MIA AS JANE!

  • This movie was actually pretty spot on. With the deleted scenes, the only big thing they left out was the gypsy part from the book.

  • Actually, in the book Rochester was described as being ugly

  • I WATCHED THIS MOVIE THE OTHER DAY AND THINK THAT IT'S A JOB WELL DONE.I CONSIDER MICHAEL FASBENDER ,IN THE ROLE OF ROCHESTER,AWESOME ALMOST AS GOOD AS TIMOTHY DALTONS POTRAYAL OF THE CHARACTER IN THE 1983 ADAPTATION OF JE.HOWEVER I PREFER DALTON.HE IS SO CONVINCING AT THIS ROLE,HIS ACTING SO STRONG AND PASSIONATE.HE BECOMES ROCHESTER.AS FOR FASBENDER I LIKED HIM,SUCH A HANDSOME ACTOR!

  • Jesus... If i was cold... i'd think logically and wrap him AROUND ME!!! Not bloody walk away into a bed.... :D that scene.... is awesome!!

  • What a sexy shit...

  • God I was literally sweating bullets in this scene; the first time watching it.

Fassbender, is WAY TOO SEXY to be a Mr. Rochester haha :)

  • @iSkyexx Haha, he's freaking gorgeous ay. I reckon Rochester is too, really. He's just not the 1800s view on beauty and so Charlotte wrote him as not being handsome, but her description of him in the book pretty much sounds gorgeous to me haha

  • @SmileysAllRound Touche'! Haha, he really is. I know, wasn't Rochester's beauty in the book basically described as someone ruggedly handsome, but not like "WOW HOT DAMN..drool" type of beauty aahaa.

Well Michael Fassbender, surely changed the way people thought of what beauty is in 1800's. He is one beautiful man. And not only that he seems like a really awesome, down to earth person....SIGHH!

  • @iSkyexx Sigh indeed. So much sigh. <3

  • @iSkyexx I agree,he's not meant to be that handsome but to have something in him,his character, the man he is for her to be attracted to him.Otherwise, who wouldn't fall in love instantly in Michael Fassbender as Mr.Rochester?:)That's why I love most William Hurt,he's real and not a filmish,I you get me,Mr.Rochester.

  • oalkjdlakjdlaidfhodinvlkndflksdjf;;

    squee.

  • Jane is Polish-Australian, Rochester is Irish-German, and the director is Japanese/Swedish-American. Just one of many reasons why this movie absolutely ruled.

  • Cold?!?!?!?!

I would most certainly not be cold if that was me instead of her!

    <3 Rochester <3

  • Right before this scene, Mr Rochester actually puts on his pants while Jane looks away... it was really funny

  • @RushTheSilver I liked that part :P

  • I would definietly feel hot if Michael Fassbender was that close to me...

    Veerrrrry hottt~~

  • @TanaJasa and speaking in that low, sexy voice.

  • @TanaJasa lol

  • @TanaJasa : i might faint already....

  • rochester just got PWND

  • Yeh if I was Jane Eyre, that would have been the moment I made my move.

  • People like to over-emphasize the sexual undercurrent in Jane Eyre, and so do I!

  • His voice! I swear his voice haunts me in my dreams..... in such a GOOD way!!!

  • im cold?, seriously woman!! O_O

  • @bibliophile19 I no more like she needs a cold shower after being so close to him :)

  • this was my faaaaaaavorite part of the movie by far! thank you so much for posting it! i have been dying to hear michael fassbender's sexy seductive tones again.... :P

  • I know! He should've just grab her and violently kissed her. I want him to KISS her at that particular clip :(

Oh my my, if they did kiss, I would be extremely HAPPY and joyful for the rest of time :'(

  • @Doo7ati3 I'm happy they did not kiss there, people often forget that back then this type of behavior was not accepted, and that a girl as young as she should have respect for her self. Being in their under garments and so close like that is inappropriate enough, if they did kiss it would have been beyond inappropriate.

  • @lalabunnybr i thought it was great they didn't have sex throughout the whole movie.

  • Comment removed

  • @Aberacadaera lol I'm glad you decided to delete your comment before I had a chance to respond xD

  • @lalabunnybr well actually I HAD REPOSTED IT RIGHT AFTER I DELETED IT BECAUSE I HAD MISSPELLED A WORD!

  • @lalabunnybr well actually I HAD REPOSTED IT RIGHT AFTER I DELETED IT BECAUSE I HAD MISSPELLED A WORD! but i believe i had said that, IF YOU HAD READ THE BOOK, THEN YOU WOULD KNOW THAT THE SCENE HERE is quite, no very similiar!

infact there is the word i spelled wrong /\ right there, i had put quiet... instead of quite

  • @Aberacadaera you're replying to the wrong person, I never said this scene wasn't in the books. And to be honest I think using caps is quite rude. Good day!

  • @lalabunnybr well since you think it to be quite rude using caps, let me tell you this, LIKE THIS - I was simply using the capital letters to get my point across because i was surprised to see your first comment to me, i felt that was very rude

  • @lalabunnybr omg I totally agree with you, I hate it when they add too much sexual scenes/kissing to movies like these. People keep forgetting that our era and theirs were very different, specially when it came to social life.

  • dangit. everytime i watch this clip at 0:39 im always sureee they're gonna kiss, but then jane backs away :( and it happened again

  • Oh My- Its Alan Rickmans Son! There is no other way he can have that voice!!

  • Michael Fassbender's voice is pure sex.

  • Most boring version of Jane Eyre to-date. Fabricated dialogue, huge chunks of the book were just written out (?!) of the film altogether. Anti-climactic and truncated ending. The Japanese director obviously did not read the book and had no clue about how this story. He should have directed a Godzilla remake instead.

  • Michael Fassbender is so fiiiinee...

  • He forgot the pauses!!! He's reciting quite nicely, a bit too stern, a bit too quickly, but the pauses - how can they leave out the pauses...

  • Ahhh his voice.....

  • I'm leaving cause it's cold, this house is creepy, and you're freaking me out! I love his voice. It take real will power to say no to a voice like that.

  • Ahhh I can't breathe my stomach is doing somersaults XD

  • Ooooo.... I think I've just cummed....

  • I am totally utterly completely hypnotized and transfixed (if the word can ever have a positive meaning). I saw the entire film last night and I love this version more than any other. ANd I have to vote for one of the greatest voices ever. The reserve they show, the inner explosion of emotion, the struggle. They do justice to the original characters in the book.

  • Holy shit. I haven't even seen this version (partial to 2006) but the acting and dialogue seem super AND DAT VOICE UGHHH.

    Marry me you sexy bastard.

  • FUCK its getting Hot in here. Now I'm gonna HAVE to see his movie. I wish there was a video on youtube with all of his parts in the movie. Clips only with Fassbender. Seeing him as Magneto was the highlight of June for me.

  • his voice is very sexy..it turns me on

  • I just died a little *faints*

  • "People talk of natural sympathies" wooow!! Amazing dialog amazing acting amazing VOICE :)

I wish I can own his voice FORGOOD

"I have known you all my life" oh my my my

  • @drivingmebatty you r absolutely RIGHT. He is the only one who gives shivers and wanna take a very COLD shower :3 :p and I am actually going NOW to have my shower, specially when I see this videos :)

  • I am gonna make a voting! Which is your favorite scene in this breath holding piece of art film? Is it this one, or "why you must leave me, or what would Jane Eyre do for keeping my happiness, or the "do you see me handsome scene?

In plain English, LOVE this film very MUCH. It will be my best entertainment EVER. Though it is a very deffistated and sad ending, but my best movie EVER. I like both of them , specially Fassbender ^^ :* -_-

  • I wished that they kissed. That would make the clip worth watching it some several times. Fassbender I love youuuuuuuuuuuu soooooooooooo much! That's the kinaa of voice I am looking to have in my life. Plus you were my favorite character in X-Men First Class. Magnito ;)

  • @Doo7ati3 to the contrary. I think the build in tension is fantastic; Charlotte had a really tactful way of building up the drama and then dicing it. It's like a good piece of music.

  • i keep watching this. its getting kind of ridiculous

  • 0:47 Say no you idiot!

  • Oh. my. GOD. *swoon*

  • he is just... such a talented actor...ahem ahem

  • Hawt!

  • i have goosebumps. his voice...just wow!<3

  • i am coldTHENLETMEWARMYOU

  • ughhhh not old enuf

  • Jane Eyre has amazing restraint, because there's no way I wouldn't be able to keep myself from ripping his clothes off.

  • @laurenluvzcbas10 I fricking know! I'm like ughhhhhhh how can you even act hat scene without giving in to his seduction!?

  • A nice recovery considering getting stuck w/ a fluff role in X-men 1st class.

    Fassbender is pretty damned skillful.

  • His voice just sends shivers down my spine.....I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy :)

  • @MrsDavidtennant4life daaaaaaaaamn right! phew. I need a cold shower.

  • the hottest Mr. Rochester...

  • @himnauriel nahh i think he's a close second. the guy from the 2006 version was hotter ;)

  • Does anyone know where to get this movieeee? Been looking for it everywhere... :(

  • @andjarina91 It didn't play in any of the big cinemas in my town (silly people) only in the little cinema cafe, which is where I saw it...I doubt you'll find it in theaters any more, but give a couple months for the DVD release. Worth waiting for :)

  • @andjarina91 Amazon!

  • @andjarina91

So far I've only found 1 REAL torrent of this movie available on Vuze (amidst plenty of fakes). The graphic quality is so-so, but otherwise it's a good copy. I would still encourage people to buy the DVD when it comes out next month (deleted scenes included).

  • GREAT movie!!!!

  • TAKE ME NOW 8D

  • They get closer and closer as the scene goes on and then, she bolts. If she'd stayed there a second longer...

  • Holy geez...his voice is unreal.

  • @west7689 Absolutely mesmerizing....

  • @west7689 i totally agree!!

  • @west7689

    Indeed!

  • @west7689 xD You should hear is natural speaking voice...it's unbelievable....IRISH :D

  • @west7689 his voice is the reason why ladies swoon lol!!!

  • @west7689 Michael Fassbender was amazing in this movie, I also loved Toby Stephens in the 2006 version which is my all time favorite. YES very unreal. I LOVE IT!!!

  • :D~

  • Shiiiiiiiiiit....

  • loves the noise in the background...-.-
