English is the way to go. Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania speaks it. Rwanda is a land locked country and she needs to communicate with neighboring countries. We can't be divided in order to work together. We have to have a common language. Thank you Mr. Kagame for introducing English to Rwanda.

Lots of idiocy here... language is just that, language... I might need to remind our africain friends that one of the most negative force in Africa is the United States (Congo any one?), which is english speaking. France is just a miniature version of what the USA is doing in the world....
English is the lowest common denominator.... yes there are advantages to switch to english, it is a simple language to learn, that is why NATIVE english speakers are overwhelmingly "monolingual".

Rwanda needs to get on board with most of other french speaking countries in Africa. By that, I mean that you can be francophile (culture) and still tell France to go suck an egg.... France does not have the monopoly on the genius of the french language. African writers show us that.
Of course Rwanda should hate the french government. But the the place where the french language is growing the fastest is in Africa! Soon there will be more french speakers in Africa than in France!

@OBSysteme You ought to be more Afrphile that Francophile. Swahili and Hausa are the most widely spoken indigenous languages and both are more than adequate for coping with the modern world. It would greatly benefit African nations to use African languages. This would help unify Africans as well as facilitate trade and cultural exchange etc.

To aquire a language is to aquire much more than a way of saying things it is aquiring a way of seeing things. African nations have largely relegated thei indigenous languages to the realm of the marketplace and barroom while foreign languages have distinguished roles in law, business and academia.

Don't you find it weired that our laws are written in French or English, yet 98% of our people can't make a word out of those languages.

@MegaKingleo1 Of course rich developped nations will continue to find camouflaged ways of raping african states, but the relationship between nations, I would not say it represents all the values of whites against Blacks.
From what I see, all is far from perfect BUT, by and large, Whites still are those where many individuals take interest in africans as equals, appreciate african cultures, etc...
For example: I don't see alot of Asians, Arabs, and Magreb taking blacks as wives and husbands.

They seem to have their own good language.. Why don't they just use that then? Many languages will die soon because of English, Arabian and Mandarin Chinese.. At least Swedish, Danish, German etc. will speak English soon because their languages are so close.
