  • because of this movie I say "weird" just like David does in the movie, in that long weee-eard sort of way

  • love this movie that pet is so cute in the movie

  • I love Garpuntis

  • This is one of my all time favorite movies growing up. I always wondered what that giant eye ball thing was.

  • I want that fat thing with white hair at 0:21

  • I gotta put it out there, but after asking most of my friends, the census says FOTN > E.T.!

  • The 80s were more fun, the 90s was gay ass grunge bands and power faggot rangers. Damn shit has gone down hill,

  • Cool film, wonder if that monster that eat the boys hat wanted his top and jeans form main course and desert ,Nice film thou , they don`t make them like that any more.

  • hahaha i goto borrow this movie again

  • This might be weird, but when I was little, I thought since that monster made eating a hat seem so tasty, that it really must taste good. So I chewed on one, tasted like sweaty cardboard hahaha.

  • 2:20 PeeWee Laugh

  • loved this film as a kid. must have watched it 50 times on a worn out vhs tape!

  • I personally believe that ufos are thinking drones just like MAX. They are alive just like him! Think about it!

  • This makes me feel like a kid

  • I just checked the IMDB, that's Pee Wee Herman's voice as Max.

  • Love the Tijuana Mexican Eyeball

  • Yo that damn eyeball use to scare tha hell out of me

  • Those alien creatures look like something from an LSD trip. BTW,Paul Rubens(aka Pee-Wee Herman) was the voice of that alien robot.

  • The aliens are the coolest!! I haven't seen this movie in AGES!! To bad they never made a sequel or even a series. It would have been cool if they went to some of the planets they visited. What do you think?

  • @DarkComet360 no, sounds retarded

  • Funny on how one thing looks like a live rice krispy treat crawling in a puddle of snot while the eye sounds like Xena Warrior Princess. Talk about cosmic shit!

  • The eye-ball creature freaked me out the first time I saw it. Especially the sound it makes when it opens it's eye.

  • @MDthornton83 the first time i saw it i thought it was a mouth and it was gonna eat him! LOL

  • I luved this film as a kid, every kid should watch this movie

  • @TheInternetGangster guess he didn't like the nasa comecial on it lol

  • A comet could very well destroy a planet. It's not some slow moving meteor, those suckers get some high velocity on them, and if it hit dead on to a planet, nothing would survive, even if the planet remained intact. Let us not forget the one that hit Jupiter left a mark bigger than our own planet.

  • This is the best kids movie ever! They don't make em like they used to! (... says the nastalgic 80's child)..

  • @Maree26e sadly they are gonna make a reamke of it. wanna bet it's gonna suck balls?

  • @leiefilm it will if it has rob shneider in it

  • What a great burp!

  • eye eyeyeyeyeyeye eyeyayeyeye love that part :D

  • That part was pretty freaky, but priceless nevertheless.

  • Did he say "From the Pixar Elliptic?"

  • Disney used to buy a lot of Pixar Image Computers, so perhaps it's a play on that :-)

  • ThiS MoVie wilL AlwaYz KiCk asS!

  • ah piss..i wanna wach the whole movie

  • me 2

  • @Kingofmean

they got parts in youtube if u search that already since this is a 1 year old comment i am replying to.

  • a whole planet wouldn't be destroyed by a comment

  • I guess it would depend on a few things:

    1) how big is the planet?

    2) how big is the comet?

    3) how fast was the comet traveling?

    4) what was the makeup, geologically speaking, of the comet and planet?

    5) was the planet destroyed in the sense that it was totally broken up, knocked into an unstable orbit, or simply caused a mass extinction like with the dinosaurs (wherein most if not all lifeforms were wiped out)

  • Not comment, Comet!

  • Rofl, thanks for pointing that out!

  • Just imagine a whole planet being destroyed by a stupid comment, though? think about it.

  • @Freebleeper must be a very bad comment lol

  • @rogelioVela1985 Well, it took a year for somebody to see my typo? as I might comet of course!

  • @Freebleeper

    lol ok.

just making fun the name, comet. lol

  • Not destroyed, only flamed.

  • What's in here?

    AYYYYYYYYY YIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIIIYIIIYIIIYIIIIIII!

  • rofl that part always gets me!

  • compliance

  • when i was 5 i'd be cracking up so hard when the eye creature came on!

  • lol me too!!!

  • He always reminded me of Peter Brady

  • this is one of my favorite movies ever! this scene never scared me - the creatures are great! the pink elephants in dumbo scared me more. HA! :P

  • yea, it kinda scared me too---because the boy was by himself---but I loved the movie too

The pink elephants were so random btw hahaha, Dumbo did acid

  • You are not alone Spikespet-I always wanted that little creature from this movie,it's cute.

  • This scene scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. I had nightmares about that damn alien that eats the hat.

  • that creature that david holds is so cute - i want one

  • this scene scared me half to death every time i watched it as a kid.

  • This is one of my favorite scenes, I've loved this movie since childhood and it makes me happy that Paul Reubens voiced Max <3

  • You don't need CGI!

  • Actually, CGI was used in this movie. The ship when it changes shape, for instance. Also, the ship when it was moving may have been done in a computer, even. IIRC, this movie ws the first use of "environment mapping", which allowed reflections from a surrounding real scene.

  • This scene is responsible for my some of the "micro creatures" in my art. I loved this scene as a kid...I often had nightmares about the creatures in the tanks.

  • they got to make a toy of a spaceship and max with creatures based on the movie!

  • lol not just a toy they should make a full size ship like this you can really fly in but thats not possible, you would need antigravity boosters or something and there would be lots of UFO sightings

  • you are a diddle

  • This was such a great film

  • Yep. This movie is a classic.

  • I watched this when I was 4 :)

    damn, I feel nostalgic now...

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw! Mike x

  • Would ya also believe that the guy who voiced Max here is also the same person we know of as Pee-Wee Herman?

  • Mr Paul Reubens himself. In the credits there is an error and it says Paul Mall. That's strange.

  • Some of the same puppeteers for Max and those other creatures were also the same guys behind the puppet work for Johnny 5 and the other robots in Short Circuit, which was released into theaters two months before this movie.
