  • How can I tell when it's time for me to get new heads? and do I HAVE to upgrade my resonant at the same time as my batter?

  • @TheMusiciansNetwork Personally, I change head when it's just about untunable, or looks like it's about to give in and the tension is never set right for long. Your resonant head doesn't have to be changed at the exact time you change a batter head, I change mine once every 3 batter heads. Hope I helped mate.

  • Okay, so this video spoke about the varieties of drum heads, but said absolutely shit about how to choose.

  • Might be a stupid question but then what is a skin becaue i'm getting drums for Christmas and the guy in the shop said well after a while the skins will break and I don't have a clue what skins are :P

  • @slashcadd9202012 it is the same as drum heads, just a different name for them

  • @uncf14704 No they are usually to different types of drum heads, the resonant head (the bottom one) is usually thinner than the batter head ( the top one)

  • why all de hate he said stuff dat beginners mite not have known so gud video man!! :)

  • Dude, you just make it harder!. :-S

  • O'rly? I should know how big my drums are before I buy new drum heads??? I thought you just bought all sizes there was and tested which one was the right =DD

  • White? You mean Coated?

  • Agreed...disappointing at best.

  • This is by far the worst "how to choose a head" video i have seen. No organization of the ideas, just random facts. This told me absolutely nothing.

  • Mind giving a demonstration?????? Dang this vid was a little disappointing

  • Listen, if your not gonna play the drums, then dont record yourself with the drumset in the background. I know exactly what your doing, and its starting to piss me off. Your making people think that your gonna play the drums with the heads on, but your didnt even touch it. So instead, record yourself somewhere else okay?

  • Correct me if i'm wrong:

The thinner the heads,,the less tone

The thicker the heads,,the more tone (like acrylic snare? am i right?)

I'm looking for a good sounding snare who has a light sound,, (like the spring on the bottom heads is NOT heard at all) help please :)

  • @vonne25000 100% correct. Search for username bobgatzen for the best drum tutorials and demos. Good friend of mine.

  • He looks embarrassed of the remo head hiding it like that. You can see the rest of the drums have evans heads

  • damn, is that a Maryland Drums drum kit?! those are collector's items now, and - i think, anyway - THE best sounding drums i've ever heard.

it's too bad that the company went out of business...

  • @jofujenkins it is! look at 0:50

  • dont try to hide remo best products

  • hello i just want to know how to find the diameter of the drum?

  • 1 inch= 2.54cm

just try to find the center of your drum and put a rule or something that across side to side the drum crossing by the center and do the maths :D

(sorry bad english hope you understand that)

  • @kamalocho get a ruler haha. but i can't really help with that :/

  • @kamalocho r u fkn serios GET A RULER kinda obvious
