Tupac Actually wrote this song For MC Hammer as a Gift to him but then when Tupac signed with Death Row he recorded his version and used it as a single. But this is MC Hammers song. Originally.
this version is good, but when you heard 2pac version, it's a new experience. Pac's version makes you feel the emotion on the song, the emotion in his words, and that makes his version way better. Like Dear Mama, can any of you imagine this song in anyone's voice? PAC 4 LIFE
Pac's version was better in terms of delivery (cause it's Pac. Comparing Pac and Hammer as a rapper is like comparing a Maserati to a CRX without any tweaks), but the instrumentation and sequence was waaaay better on this and the singer's harmonies were much better on this. I wish they would let me do the mixdown on this song. I would kill the mixing and put Pac's version on it instead.
this track shows how good 2pac actually was!! this is a good way to compare, i wish he recorded some biggie tracks then you could see how much better he was.. the end :D
I ain't gonna diss this version, 2Pac and Hammer made one hell of a team, but I just get more feelin and heart from 2Pac's vocals and the way he raps in his version, Hammer just sounds like he's spittin it, nonetheless, both great
Tupac told Mc Hammer to rap this song. "He said, 'Hammer, I wrote this song. I need you to rap it. It speaks about some things. ... It's better for you to address as my "big brother," than it is for me to address them right now, and it's called "Unconditional Love". It very well could be one of the last songs he could have written.
Goddammit, I didn't even know the Hammer track even existed.
Too bad it fuckin sucks, hahaha hammers wack as shit. Tupac version is awesome though, he brings all kinds of passion to it and rips it up. Hammer just seems like hes reciting it.
tupac didnt make HIS OWN VERSION, if he wrote this for him, then he first recorded a version for MC HAMMER to RECORD OVER, thats how it is done when you write shit for someone, the only irony is that this shit sucks, and the version to RAP OVER kills it, heh
@peterscoop actually, he did record this for himself, since hammer left Death Row and wasnt releasing the song, Pac decided to keep it to himself.. the version you speak of was also recorded by tupac, as a reference track, so stupid hammer could learn how to do it right... but the recording on greatest hits is the second time pac was recording it..this time for himself...peace!
Im Glad Pac Did His Own Version,Cuz MC Hammer Doesnt Have Da Emotional Tension 2pac Had,And He Doesnt Enunciate Da Words Properly,His Flo Doesnt Match Up,Its Kinda Weird
hammer has to understand that when pac writes his songs. he is tellinq his story. soo its kinda like hammer is lying. pac's version iss soo much better. what was hammer thinkinq???
thats right, 2Pac wrote the song for him. just like he did with the song Too Tight, if you go to the clip on youtube you will see pac rapping from the perspective of hammer. because he wrote him lyrics and recorded it so Hammer would know how to rap the lyrics. 2Pac also wrote lyrics for a Cant Touch This remix that remains unreleased. that song also features 2Pac with his own verses.
I agree, this song is like 2pac's version but without all the emotion and personality, its like pacs version but without all the good stuff that makes it worth listening to. Dead in the sea, 2pac's version is much better.
