Hey you could install the CCTV mod, so you could have security cams in the casino, so if somebody breaks the glass or something, you would see it and catch the guy who did it.
@FreakAboutSims3 This is so awesome. I've just built one following you and tested it out. It's fun. I used single player and too many items. Now I just wish I had my own server so I could make a tiny Vegas.
I myself conducted a series of tests. I used this machine 30 times, which gave me 90 items. I had the slots set up just like in this video, so here are the results: Reed=27% (24/90), Redstone=22% (19/90), Feather and Cobblestone both got= 18% (17/90), and Cactus got=15% (13/90). Now, i don't know weather it was just luck or its where I need to do more tests, but those are the probabilities i received in my testing.
@seeznoevilx Probabilities are equal for all slots as of 1.6. I've been incredibly busy (lazy) to calculate new probabilities but I'll get around to those I promise! :(
@MrOrdo I don't think it is, I just tried it and after about 60-70 tries I got three diamond (which is my equivalent of three cactus) supposedly that is a 0.03% chance. I think notch has changed the way dispenser's work. Also I had three gold bars (red stone) which was a 0.32% chance. Either I'm super lucky or notch changed them, I know which one I'm guessing is right :)
Could you not just use an And gate and have it so the player cannot play unless the game master is standing on the pressure plate? Also thank you because ive understood logic gates thanks to you :P Also 1.6 includes a patch that is meant to stop the dispensers having different drop rates for item slots, a real shame because this machine is pretty awesome.
@CR0SBO Sure you could, but you'd have to step off the plate as soon as the player presses the button or he could click it 100 times and mess up the game. The machine itself will still work after 1.6. I just need to calculate new probabilities. I'll post a bulletin / update this video once I do so! Just make sure not to use your machine after 1.6 before you get the updated win rates :P

Man what a great video! I love redstone and every thing you can do with it and I find the circuit very simple but, what really surprised me was the probability stuff with the dispensers! I always thought that no matter the slots occupied the probability was equal for all of them. Super cool detail!

Great tutorial, you make me want to make several and theme them all depending on where I locate them. :) Maybe block off all but 3 glass, so the player cannot really see the game master. Make a lever for "The game master is in" or something? :P
@roda1265 Casinos are always highly protected! I recommend hidden vaults behind many layers of securely locked doors! If only you could see what lies in the tomb in the background of this video :) Another not so creative solution is server mods that let you lock chests.
