  • YAY at least one chariter is the same but the rest of it is shit plz american tv ppl stop changing the brittish comedys because if u do they just lose the funnesess of it

  • disliking for the fact that "mr renolhm" didnt say

    STANDARD NERDS

  • Jen's acting is TERRIBLE -- they should just air the original -- it's SO MUCH BETTER! This is **** - there!

  • This is so bad, its funny. The way Reynholm was added to the title... SO bad.

  • is that the same Moss as the UK version? why the hell would he agree to do this?

  • @jonsparrow same here, i LOVE the british version

  • why was this allowed to happen? it sucks too, cuz i love the guy from the soup.

  • Why do they actually do these stupid "remakes" of series that ARE STILL being made and aired? Why?? I understand making a remake of some 1950s movie, but this is ridiculous!

  • this is almost the same,

except they changed all the jokes so they werent funny.

    well done america.

  • AUGH WHY

  • Awful! Roy is trying too hard and Jen is so fake!

  • I feel violated, watching this...its so wrong....

  • wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.

  • Comment removed

  • This is Awful.

    American Roy is Smarmy

    American Jen is Ditzy

And poor Moss, having to act all this out twice.

I bet he's relieved it only aired once!

  • If you think this is bad, don't watch the German version.

  • it dosent work with the us accent, its completely ruined. still moss is a legend, hes irreplaceable.

  • it's too much of a copy to be good. I would just watch it for Moss. As much as I like Joel McHale. :/

  • It's kind of creepy seeing the same Moss, but all the other actors are different. It's like having Han Solo on the Enterprise. Wierd, but i can't turn away.

  • No "Drudgens", no "Standard nerds!" No wonder this didn't get picked up. Just as well, though, Joel McHale is a better fit for Community.

  • Not funny. You ruined it, US. You changed the lines and jokes. Why not just show the original? It wasn't good enough for you?

  • Ross is like Real Ross :D

  • This version is rubbish: it totally ruins it

  • @lucyholland96

    bloody american barbarian accent

  • @rybnik100 I agree! I'm glad it never went to air: the Americans ALWAYS ruin our TV shows!

  • I read that they're gonna try a US version again, but not try to copy the origional exactly.. I wish they would just show the origional, but at least this episode will never air.

  • So its about to happen again. Another British comedy copied by America and then claimed as theirs. What's wrong with just watching the originals? Britain doesnt try to remake American comedies- we like them as they are.

  • I dont understand why they just don't show the UK version. It's just the same with the US version of Red Dwarf... terrible!

  • I've been watching the original UK version, and just heard there was an American version and wondered why I've never seen it. Now I know. Just put the original on in the U.S., people would watch it. Though they would probably have to edit it for both time and content, since we need to have all TV be appropriate for the kiddies, and need to have plenty of time for those commercials!

  • they ruined it they just dont seem to get way it was funny

  • Ugh! Absolutely HORRID! I hope they never try to air this! The UK version is hilarious! The Jen is too high pitched and screechy! If you're going to try to redo a great show, put some thought into it and cast the right people! I agree Portia de Rossi would've been great in that role! This Roy does not have the charm of the UK Roy! The Office was able to do it - so it is possible, but they certainly did not get this one right!

  • @born2shop100 - If they are going to remake it, at least make new episodes! whats the point of recreate the same episodes? Just air the originals in the US!

The worst thing about this remake is the jokes that they re-use are not even done with the proper delivery... The slight changes they make are exactly what gives the original jokes their flavor and make them good. I notice they let the punchline through far too early. Roy doesnt let the phone ring... he answers and puts on hold for examp.

  • Dumbed down shit.

  • this version's horrible compared to the UK version... and why is the script almost identical? Why couldn't they have spun the idea with a more American twist?

  • This is strange... Very strange indeed

  • This is horse shit. Apart from Moss but he is playing almost EXACTLY the same role as the UK version and WHY couldn't they just show the UK version in America?

  • wow this renhelm sucks! I love the original renhelm but too bad he was short lived :(

  • shouldnt channel 4 be suing the guys who did this since its practically a ripoff

  • @jackfwoodward it's created by the same producer as the British verison

  • @JaundicedJonJon why? tbf theres no point in trying to repeat the same thing somewhere else when you would allow it to be aired over to america

  • this is so unbelievably bad

  • BOOOOOOOO

  • only good bit is moss

  • I was really disappointed it didn't go to series until I saw it.

  • how can u take something so good and make it this bad?? - answer send it to america!!

  • this is fucking weird hey?!?!

  • suck ....copy ....

  • sorry guys, isn't it EXACTLY "copy" of original IT Crowd version?

  • @dozeros word for word

  • nope, already barely started watching it...and nope, it's like a high school theater class can put up a better rendition

  • Comment removed

  • Wow. It's like they just used the same exact script. Maybe it would have worked if they had come up with an original story for the pilot. I love Joel McHale and all, but geeze. So glad he went to Community.

Also, I don't know if I like the girl playing Jen. Glad it didn't get aired.

  • Why do they still do this? They almost finally got the point it never works, but then the US version of the office actually didn't totally suck.

Thats one success since they tried to make Faulty Towers,so statistically it may just work again in about 2030 or so.

Till then it shall be the fate of every great British comedy to have an aborted fetus of a USA cover version blighting its name on the internet,...or whatever the internet will be called in 2030.

  • Yeah....not good. But when Moss came out my reaction was "wow, that's a great Moss impersonation!" and then I realized it was actually him, doh!

  • Dear American television; STOP RUINING BRITISH COMEDIES. For f*cks sake.

  • @omfgthisisaname gotta admit, Im American and i am getting pretty sick of the american remakes of british television. I love original works and The IT Crowd was great all on its own. Same with Spaced and same with Black books. I mean both of our countries give and take when it comes to television shows but I think we need to look at what makes a show great. the actors and the writing. in The IT Crowd (UK Version) Both are brilliant. in the US remake, the writings the same but the casting sucks.

  • @omfgthisisaname Hey Asshole!!

I'm an american and we dont take kindly to you tea sippin pans --

Okay, on second thought, yeah, the original version is better. I mean i like the new Reynholm, and the fact that they kept Moss, but... our jen is not funny and neither is our roy.

Our roy just comes off as a dick.

  • I can barely get through this... the actors are just all wrong. The Soup guy just does not work as Roy, more of just a Hollywood prettyboy than a slacker.

  • awful just awful, glad this never took off I love the original and thanks for sharing this as I didn't even know there was a leaked pilot episode..

  • 1. Okay this might have worked if they would of had Portia de Rossi as Jen.

    2. Joel McHale doesn't seem to have the chops for playing a geek.

    3. Moss's character seems to be smothered by everyone else in this version, they treat him like he's mentally challenged.

  • What the fuck is this heaping pile of awful crap. This is disgusting. This is an abomination.

Return it to the fires from whence it came.

  • Theres about a million things wrong with this.

    1. The actors who play roy and jen really can't pull off their roles.

    2. The intro sequence is just the original with added text boxes.

    3. Denholm is a terrible actor.

and thats just to name a few.

P.S I laughed for about a minute when that denholm sprite popped up in the intro.

  • its not even an original script?

  • WHY THE FUCK would anybody make an US Version of this?

    The original already is english!

But this is still better than German version.

You wouldn`t believe how bad it is.

  • sucks you can only dislike once.. google really should change that!

  • Wow, no wonder this trash was canned early on. This is like watching a group of High Schoolers redo the original. Still love Moss though.

  • Wow, no wonder this trash was canned early on. This is like watching a group of High Schoolers redo the original. Still love Moss though.

  • watch and weep...and seriously this sucks arse watch the uk version irish roy is actually funny unlike this fakey american roy

  • OH GOD IT'S GOT THE PROPER MOSS IN IT! That was a shock. It's actually making me larf.

  • @Chromebaby Alas this "Roy" lets me down.

  • I'm from Brooklyn and love British comedy. I am so glad that Hollywood FAILED at making this. American TV is in a state of mimicking everything with any merit. If it's good someplace else, then they can buy it, put a sticker on it and say it's their version. This was pathetic because as with the first season of the Office they didn't change anything. And if it did go on air it would've been exhausted and stupid as soon as it started. As far as American television goes ... just watch adult swim.

  • its...

    its..

    oh god

    it's disgusting

    fuckin yanks bro

  • Rubbish!!!

  • 4. The new boss seems like he really should be the mailman.

The only thing I love is Moss!

  • This is just plain horrid and I do not think it will ever work for a few reasons.

    1. Even though some lines/situations are different to give some sort of newness to it, these changes are not always for the best.

    2. The chemistry between Moss and Roy is non-existent due to Roy seeming to not be committed to his role. As a result it seems as if Moss is just waiting for Roy to shut up.

    3. The new Jen is horrid. She is just delivering lines like they are pizza past the 30 minute mark.

    4. The ne

  • Crap. Why don't they watch the UK version????

  • As of July 30 the American version of the ITC is set to be produced. Travesty.

  • Bit surprised that Richard is in this tbh, didn't expect that. Wonder why he agreed to be in the exact same thing he was in the UK.

Even the same opening credits?! really.

  • @nikki2970 actually they changed the it so the black Mr reynom is at the front so makes it all the different/crapper

  • Seriously? An exact copy of the British version.

    For fucks sake, why??

  • oh my word, this is an absolute travesty. poor richard ayoade, you can sense his discomfort at being involved in such a sham. mchale is...meh as roy, seriously overacted, but believable to a small degree. jen is abhorrent, though. i feel like i'm watching a laughing cow cheese commercial every time she's in frame. rumor has it the US version may be revived for some reason or another, so here's to hoping it either gets canned again, or they change...pretty much everything other than moss.

  • no.

  • jesus the us roy even has the same slogan on his t shirt as the uk roy

  • The US has an IT Crowd. It's called The Big Bang Theory. This crap isn't a quarter as charming and funny as the original show.

  • @MissIcia Agreed!

  • Holy shit they fucked it up.

  • Why does America have to ruin everything?!?!?!

First Kath and Kim.... now this!!!!!!!!!

  • @hippymonkmon I live here, and I agree.

  • @MissIcia I think when America tries to do British/Aussie humor, they fail epically.

They should keep at what they're best at, stupid one liners and penis jokes.

  • @hippymonkmon Oh, right on the money. They do Gossip Girl and cop dramas too. I have to say, I will possibly throw things at my TV if this airs on NBC.

  • MOSS IS IN THIS WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUCK?

  • Blimey! Jeff Winger was Roy in a previous life.

  • absolutely terrible.

  • Why is the real Moss in the fake IT Crowd? I don't understand why this pilot was ever produced.

  • I like the UK version better, this is too forced.

  • It takes an american to take somthing funny and turn it into a peace of crap

  • It cant be compared to the english virsion

  • I'm glad that it wasn't even aired anytime.

  • they even have the shitttty fake laughter. One of the reasons I hate the original IT crowd

  • The laugh track is the most annoying thing in the world.

  • ... but that's exactly the same as the UK version minus the charm. Literally exactly the same word for word - at least with the American version of The Office they put their own spin on things. What is the point of this? There's enough script writers looking for jobs in the USA to come up with something original

  • I'm an American fan of the British version of this show. All the comments are spot on about how bad this version is. However, you can't generalize about us messing up shows and not the other way around. Have you seen the British version of Wipeout? Ouch. Lol

  • This is really painful to watch.

  • USA cannot remake a decent british TV show because they lack the necessary humour that makes the Brit comedy shows unique and awesome.

  • Here's a plan for the americans, watch the British versions of all our shows- tits...

  • Man the american roy sucks,ROY IS IRISH and jen just sucks.

  • definately not the original. I love mchale but he's too pretty for the part. not the same for sure. I miss the original jen and roy.

  • This video and all other traces of the show itself should be destroyed, deleted or burned and no one should ever speak of it again. Ever.

  • COMPLETE. SHIT.

  • wow same jokes but waay lamer, sorry i like joel mchale (on community), and ayodade is awesome but whyyyyy butcher it.

and the insertion of rocky carroll into the title sequence = fail (and chris o'dowd even in 8bit doesnt look anything like joel mchale)

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, the british version is sooooo much better. At least I got to see the US pilot so I could be sure.

  • what an actual disgrace...they completely re-used the title sequence

  • Thank you for posting this! I had heard there was a pilot, but I never thought I would see any of it. Too bad you couldnt post the rest of it eventhough it was awful. For some reason we Americans seem to butcher British sitcoms, I think because the characters/cultures sometimes clash and most Americans are slow on the uptake if something isnt familiar to them. I have always loved British comedy since python. This could have worked here with a little tweaking here and there, ah well

  • The casting is the problem. The Office in the US is funnier than the UK version, but this is just terrible.

  • eerrrr eehhhh Real Moss but ......what's going on?

    i don't ...

    who do the what now?

  • My honest opinion, I hope you can take it. It's not personal.

They are not original enough to change the script.

The teaser is freaking HORRIBLE. They're trying to capture lightning in a bottle, with a LAUGH TRACK, and line for line rip-off... I think it's time to take Hollywood out back and shoot it in the head. Watch at your own risk.

  • Interesting to see but the British version is just way better. Maybe if they just had a better cast it could work but it's just not working here.

  • Totally sucks....I just love the British version, just, it's the best....and it's kinda weird to see the same episodes played with different guys....so please, do not fuck a good program with a very very and very bad copy.

  • holy crap, just saw the intro. they LITERALLY stole the british intro and put a new 8 bit character in the foreground? really?

  • wow... this is soooooo bad. my gawd, so glad it didnt get past the pilot. Can anyone else hear the pain in Richard Ayoade's voice?

  • Ugh, whenever America tries to copy British shows, they always do it word for word. It's stupid!

  • @Saltcitysound typically the pilots. They should rename the characters except for Moss, and give him a backstory as to why hes in the US. That way, they could have the UK Characters guest star.

  • Why the fuck did Richard Ayoade agree to do this?!

  • HORRID! Keep making the UK version and show it in the US. Don't make a US COPY. This is retarded.

  • So weird seeing Jeff from Community try to be a nerd!

Also, sorry guys but next to Richard Ayoade it just seems like the others can't act! I think it's because his character is complete and weirdly real where as their american accents just make them sound like actors doing a tv show, waiting for their cue.

I like Joel, I'm sure I'd like the girl if I saw her in something else but sorry... O'Dowd, Parkinson and especially Morris as Denham all own those characters!

  • I'm American and I forced myself to watch the whole clip. It was awful. Why can't they just air the British version? It was impeccable and hilarious! I, for one, feel incredibly ashamed of NBC for even attempting this.

  • They should definately recast Jen, and rename all the Characters outside of Moss let it branch out into its own show.

  • I prefere Roy irish. And the actor we have for him just has the right look and voice

  • despite all of thoughts about that remake, I suppose that probably, maybe, MAYBE it would seem to us much more funnier and natural if we hadn't seen the uk version before:)

and... why the hell did they repeat the original word by word?!?!

  • @human4fun i totally agree, it's exactly the same thing, each word it's the freakin same, god! i think this version must be adapted to the american humor, i think it can be a good tv program if NBC knew how to "handle" and adapt it

  • @human4fun They repeated word for word the pilot for the US version of The Office too.

  • pretty weird that it's an exact copy of hte UK version, just without the accent. why bother?!

  • Yeah.... NO. Tell you what: let the UK keep doing the fantastic IT Crowd, and let the US stick with the Big Bang Theory, leave this alone :)

  • seems like we got a visitooor, what can we do you for

  • whawhawhawhat's wrong with Roy? You can't do that to him...

  • i dont ever want to see a follow up to this!!

  • this is shit. The UK version is funny. This is painful.

  • Meh

  • LOL! They couldn't find an alternative to Richard Ayoade

  • epic fail!

  • It looks like poor Richard Ayoade is just phoning it in. He's like, "Here we go again....mother-flippers."

  • It's not as bad as the German attempt in which they fucked up all the jokes, but still... this ist just weird, even more with Moss in it. Why having to redo it? The original is just perfect.

  • weeeeiiird

  • Not funny, UK version is way better

  • Man this sucks big time

  • Why?

  • Not. Funny.

  • they tried this shit with red dwarf and it didnt work

  • Ug, Joel McHale is even wearing Cris O'Dowd's shirt? It seems VERY strange that they would just use an almost identical script to the British version. As an American with a love of the original show, let me quickly say: Sorry, my British friends. We're not ALL so strapped for ideas.

  • I don't give a shit about whether this was stolen from English TV or not, all I will say is. This. is. absolute. SHITE. Terrible, terrible version of The IT Crowd. -_-

  • wow thanks everyone for watching this video please add me ..thanks!!!!!!!

  • All of this "AMERICANS ARE COPYING OUR STUFF" crap is unsolicited and baseless. Graham Linehan, the guy who created IT Crowd, can do whatever the hell he wants with his creation, even if it means working with American television networks to create another version of his show.

Alas, this is YouTube. Posting a comment without berating millions of people would look awkward. So allow me to say that in the US version "The Office", at least the actors speak audibly and pause between sentences. HURRRR

  • UK Jen was way better. At least give her red hair!

  • They really copied the script 99%? That's stupid, the script has to fit the actor and the audience. With a completely different cast and a completely different audience to appeal to, it will never work.

  • omg, that is the worst thing i have ever seen. I love the original IT Crowd.

  • OH MY GOD, US RIPP OFF EVERY BRITISH SHOW AND MAKE THEM TERRIBLE.

  • making an american version of the IT crowd is horrible! even though richard ayoade.. its still not the same. im glad it never went on air!

  • why the fuck do americans copy everything thats ours? are they incapable of making a show with there own origionality? now this just takes the piss, they've taken the it crowd and made it SHIT. the fact that they have to copy of us just proves they kiss out ass >:(

  • Americans are shockingly shit ... even when they copy brilliant shows like this I'm happy that they used the Moss from the british version, after all nobody can be act as Moss the way he does

  • I'm American, and I'm watching this like WTF??!! Blonde Jen, whack-ass Roy...poor Richard Ayoade. It honestly made me want to have a shot of Tequila straight up. That is the only way this show should be aired. Original cast and straight up.

  • Its the same but shit......

  • This is so bad. Thats all I have to say.

  • omg. this is completely pathetic. embarrassing infact!

  • Haha, its like a parallel universe which really sucks arse!

  • I agree that this is yet another TV show from the UK that does not need a US copy. I mean c'mon...how can you replicate the chemistry the UK cast has? Also - I don't think my country has actors that can best the Brits!

  • I hate Americans so goddamn much.

  • Look, this wasn't the most god awful thing I've ever watched, but why was this necessary? Why didn't they just play the original British version on American telly? And perhaps sell the DVDs over there?

I mean, if The Mighty Boosh can make it onto American TVs, I don't see why the IT crowd can't.

  • the original is WAAAAAAAAAY better! this is just awkward and awful and making me CRINGE.

  • sucks, really sucks, the original it's much better, totally.

  • oh... dear god.....ugh.....

  • @FooLonTheeHilL HA! Found you!

    And yes, this sucks.

  • There can only be one Moss.
