@mrcooldude964 God, sad? If he knew it was comming since before i was born, and designed me knowing that the day he sent me to hell would come, why would he be sad?
I can't force myself to believe something. No matter how hard I try to believe there is a unicorn in my closet, I can't do it. I can pretend, and I can lie about it. But I can't actually believe it. Just like I cant actually believe in a god. Should I suffer for that?

Creation = Creator. It's that simple. Look at the world around you, and at your own body. Even our best computers cannot imitate the human body, yet you really suppose that it came to be by chance?
Not at all. I think they came about by natural selection. Nature just had a 4.5 billion year head start on us humans, so I really wouldn't think that computers could be as sophisticated as something so evolved, yet!
Do you think that a creator came about by chance? Or did that creator evolve as we did?
A more accurate way to phrase 'natural selection' would be 'random competition and survival', since that is what you hold it to be. I believe a Creator is eternal, without beginning and without end, and therefore needs no reason to have evolved. Even IF evolution is true, that doesn't do away with the necessity of a maker...
I absolutely do not holdnatural selection to be random! Evolution requires 3 things, self-replication, slight mutation, and natural selection. Slight mutation is the only completely random process involved. Natural selection however, is a non-random process.
There is no evidence for a creator. And a perfect being cant just always have existed. If something did always exist, it was as simple as an explosion.
I don't quite understand your last statement. The evidence for a Creator is in the world around you...only an Intelligent Hand could have made this world, not a few cells and millions of years.
The world around me is evidence of lots of things, but not an invisible man. Millions? How about billions? All you need is a self replicating molecule, and time.
Since we are so complex and so advanced then we must have been created by something, right? Well, then anything that is complex and advanced enough as our creator would need to have the same sort of explaination! Who created the creator? It's just "turtles all the way down" so to speak. Bringing a creator into the picture and justifying it by saying that "It LOOKS this way, so it has to be this way" is making it more complex than it needs to be.
Time doesn't make things, and neither do self-replicating molecules, except themselves. So why would self-replicating molecules + time = life on earth as we know it??
What you mean is - molecules which replicate self + randomness (this could include any change) + stick it all outside with other molecules + time (Oh, a few billion years ought to do it!) = You, me, and everything else.
Yes it is! But you did leave out natural selection. If you had included that, it wouldn't be!
How does your invisible man theory explain how life came to be as it is? You cant just say the invisible man did it. You have to tell me how he did it.
Natural Selection was the 'stick it outside with a bunch of other molecules.'
It's called God, and it's a fact. Works like this - God creates world, and has every creature (that is, it's species) created in the beginning. That would include many creatures which are now extinct. Thousands of years later, God makes global flood, and much of life on earth is destroyed. I believe in Genesis, and the rest of the Bible.
Natural selection is more than being around molecules.
So you believe in talking snakes and donkeys, giants, unicorns, magical fruit, ghosts, and a invisible man that curses people he loves to an eternity of torment for HIS mistakes. Mmm hmm.
But you did fail to answer my question, How did he do it?
I'm not sure what you mean, with either of your comments. The whole explanation for the Bible and God's order of creation is in the Bible, what is it you are wanting explained?
How did he create us? Did he position each individual atom 1 at a time, did he create evolution, did he fart and out we came? did he burp us out? speak us out? cry us out? Is there any evidence to support the bibles claims? I do know what the bible says, but its FUCKING RIDICULOUS! Talking snakes!??!! hahahaha
I was not there, but He created man as recorded in Genesis. He did not use evolution. And, yes, there is archaeological evidence to support the Bible, as well as many fulfilled prophecies.
Well, you ought to know that fossil strata displayed in the average classroom is actually unaccounted for in it's theorized order any where on earth. Many sites only contain certain 'levels', and 'upthrusts' are common, when a separate strata is found mixed with others. Human culture as we know it really shows a flourishing in language and culture to only about 4500 B.C, which would have been after the flood.
Fossilization is rare, and it would not have really occurred until the Flood. Through that catastrophic event we have most of our fossils and rock layers. Fossils are often dated by the rock layers they are in, and vice versa. We have many 'living fossils' today. Creatures are buried, oftentimes, according to their environment in which they died.
Fossilization is something that does not occur very often (but not every million years), and the flood would provide the perfect scenario to create the 'fossil grave-yards' that we come across so often.
By 'living fossils', I mean creatures who are virtually unchanged as far back as supposed 'millions of years', when in all sense they should have at least evolved a little. Next time you see a headline such as 'ancient shark re-discovered off the coast of Japan', realize that it was likely, by evolutionary reckoning, believed to have gone extinct at least 200 million years ago.
Creatures are often buried according to their environment, which would explain the 'order of strata', with bacteria and 'tough little things' being at the bottom, and man being near the top. (NOTE - This is not always the case.)
I thought you meant they get up and walk around, after all you do believe in things equally ridiculous. Sure there are many species that didnt change much, but what does that have to do with the magical skydaddy?
Didn't change AT ALL. When they should have. And the fossil record of 'earth's history' has proved to be misleading. It's a crutch in the evolution story.
You should learn about evolution from a non creationist resource. We have millions of transitional forms, off the coast of jamaca we have fossils of whales with legs, and progressively less and less of legs as time went on. They still have bones that are the remains of pelvis today!
I find that hard to believe. If these pre-whales had a pelvis and a propulsive tail, their reproductive organs would be crushed, and without one, (BTW, pelvises just don't disappear), their legs would be useless. Most discoveries are actually fractions of skeletons found in generally the same area, with an artist's interpretation. Fins on modern whales are not vestigal legs, they assist reproduction.
I never said they disapeard, they evolved to not have them any more. Why would their reproductive organs be crushed? Most discoveries are just fractions of fossils, But we have all of the pieces of teh complete fossils, found in the same strata, of the same animal, in the same area. And I'm pretty sure that this example has complete fossil remains. Im sure you can find out by looking at HHMI's evolution lecture series.
But ask most scientists how we know that a certain strata is a certain age, and they will say it is because fossil 'A' was found in it. Ask how we know how old fossil 'A' is, and you will often be told that it is known because it was found in a certain strata...
We know how old a strata is because it is in layers, oldest on bottom, newest on top, usually! We know because of the radioactive decay in the layers, and yes, the presence of fossils as well. And no, most scientists would not agree with you on this. I can only think of a couple, and one runs a creationist museum, and the other is in prison for fraud. And neither of which submit them selves to the peer review system, the most important part of science!
I thought the most important part of science was fact. Radioactive decay (which is the only proof you really mentioned) has it's own problems in the possibility of, and oftentimes commonplace, contamination.
Nor is gravity, plate tectonicts, quantum mechanics, so on so forth. We evolved from the chimpanzee and bonobo, thats just as much a fact as gravity holding the moon in orbit. Evolution is a theory because we dont know how or why we evolved to have the unique characteristics of a large brain, and opposable thumbs. And there are many experiments and prediction to validate evolution.
Go read the new NAS book I previously mentioned. There is just to much on this topic to fit in 500 characters. I'm 99% sure that you have never read a book on evolution that doesn't include the phrase "in the beginning god created..."
I don't know see why fundy christians are so anti-science, especially evolution. Quantum physics deals a much harder blow to the existence of god(s) than evolution!
A flood would provide the perfect scenario, so would heavy rainfall. So would a lake, the ocean, river beds, All you need is water and sedimentary rock. Its funny in your last sentence you say we come across fossil grave yards so often, and in your first sentence you say fossilization doesn't occur very often, which is it?
Many of earth's current largest and grandest geological features, such as marine trenches, canyons, and mountains, (Mt.Everest has loads of seashells buried in it), could have been formed by a gigantic flood.
How were marine trenches formed by a flood? Fossils are found on everest, because 70 million years ago, as per plate tectonic theory, it was much lower. How do you explain that the Himalayas, Everest included, are still rising if indeed those fossils are there because of a flood?
I think you missed the point, how did a flood occur under water? Mariene trenches tend to be fairly angular, as if it were different banks of a fault line, if it were errosion by currents, it would look quite different.
Why would it have to be during the flood? I suppose you believe in noah's ark and animals getting freaky incest style. Well those are far from facts, they don't even count as theory's, or even hypothesis, there hardly even guesses! I challenge you to raise a population of 64 mice in 5 generations, using just 2 originals(one male, one female).
According to the Bible, it would make sense for it to happen during the flood, but it wouldn't have to. Whoa, though, why do I have to raise 64 mice in 5 generations?
To prove that you can get a healthy population from two individuals. It cant be done, your third generation mice would be deformed and severely handicapped, your 4th generation probably wouldn't happen. Incest doesn't work, and keeping two males of every species on the ark would be just as well as one male one female!
Genetic reproduction permitted incest early on in hominids? How on earth or beyond did you come to that conclusion?
All I'm saying is that Adam and Eve could have done just a good job as raising a healthy human population as Adam and Steve.(I want the preceding comment to appear on my headstone!)
But not 'go kill children'. There aren't contradictions in the Bible, bodacious. But I don't expect you to believe that simply because I say so. Do you think there is a chance that there is a heaven?
Umm yes there are plenty of contradictions. Yes moses is saying, "go kill the young male children, and non-virgin women. Yes there is a heaven. It's right here at home!
Enjoy being sick you get to stay home! And You die as the result of evolution/biology/physics. If we lived for ever the earth would be a bit over populated!
Nope, there is no afterlife! As there is no evidence for one! It was a concept most likely created to help ease the emotional pain of a loved one dying, and was adopted by religion as a method of both making people hope/and scaring them into belief. Why do you ask?
Ive said it before, on here, The same reason i don't believe in unicorns, or giants, elves, worldwide floods, taking snakes, angels demons, gods, devils, or gigantic flesh eating venomous ducks. There is no evidence, and no coherent reason to believe in one! However, there is a good, coherent reason that it is nothing but a made up story used to threaten/reward people who believe nonsense.
a2. We've been though this! No, that god would require more explanation than we would, as we are much more simple! Saying a magical invisible man did it, has never been a correct answer.
The evidence is in creation and the conscience. Everyone has a conscience, con=With, science=Knowledge, which attests to right and wrong. Just because you haven't seen God doesn't mean He's not there, bodacious.
Do you think the human body is amazingly complex? (Go ask you doctor how much of it you could spare losing and still be normal.) It is, as is all other life. This is evidence for a Creator.
You conscience is what tells you right from wrong. For example, you know that it is wrong to murder, right?
That is not evidence for a creator, that is evidence for complex life. For how it came to be so complex look the the theory of evolution. There is no invisible sky daddy needed to explain it.
You failed to answer my question yet again, so i will repost it here: How does my ability to choose for myself what is right and what is wrong, point to the existence of an invisible man? Please answer it this time. And don't just rephrase what you have already said, as it is in now way an answer.
Even IF evolution were true, it wouldn't explain how life could get here in it's present state. It would take miracle after miracle to even create the first amoeba. So it doesn't really negate the idea of a god.
Your conscience tells you right from wrong, it doesn't 'give you the ability to choose'. For example, you know that it is wrong to murder, right?
Evolution is a very sound Theory, that is a composition of facts to explain a single force in nature. Evolution is a fact, deal with it. Saying that evolution is true therefore there is no god, is a false dichotomy, so you are correct in that! However, there is still no evidence for any god/gods.
Your second paragraph is still missing the point completely, as your still stuck trying to define conscience when I ask how the presence of that conscience is evidence for a magical sky daddy.
Yes I do. Now again, for the fourth time, I need to recall your attention back to the original question. How does my ability to choose for myself what is right and what is wrong, point to the existence of a creator? Any further post you have that fails to answer this question will be deleted!! You have avoided it long enough!
Have you even actually thought about what you wrote? Have you even looked at an evolution textbook?
Evolution NEVER EVER EVER said were life STARTED! It never has, it never will. If you want to believe in God, Aliens, the Tooth Fairy, whatever, than do it. Evolution comes AFTER 'initial life'.
Evolution states 2 things.
1: Mutations
2: Stronger mutations grow.
Simple. Two zebras run away from a lion. Slower gets eaten, faster lives. Genes for faster wins. Hence, evolution.
Hi Bersaba. The evidence for evolution is seriously lacking. This is how simple it is - Two bacterium compete for food, one does not reach it, and dies, the other has not enough ability to digest (it hasn't evolved yet) and dies. Sad.
It just doesn't make sense.
Regardless of evolution, what do you think is on the other side when someone dies?
@mrcowan009 - " There aren't contradictions in the Bible" - clearly you've never read it. There are thousands upon thousands of contradictions. And that's in just one of the dozens of "version" in English. Which is the "correct" one? Why are there so many? They don't agree with each other, and the Gospels do not agree with each other on many major aspects of the story. The Old Testament is 99.9% lies, and full of contradictions. Please read your bible!
@mrcowan009 - "Moses penned Genesis, around 2000 BC" 1. How do you "know" this? 2. Genesis says all of humanity came from two boys (the sons of "Adam" and "Eve") whose "wives" were their sisters. Incest. Yet elsewhere in the Bible it says incest is wrong.
Dear mrcowan009, Since we are so complex and so advanced then we must have been created by something, right? Well, then anything that is complex and advanced enough as our creator would need to have the same sort of explaination! Who created the creator? It's just "turtles all the way down" so to speak. Bringing a creator into the picture and justifying it by saying that "It LOOKS this way, so it has to be this way" is making it more complex than it needs to be.
Not really, you see, because the infinite regression argument has to stop somewhere, it must not really be infinite. God is eternal, without beginning and without end, and He created the dimension of time. He needs no 'creator'.
Nor does the universe. Time itself was trapped in the singularity before the big bang. And an explosion is infinitely more simple, and easier to come about by chance, than something capable of designing such an explosion.
Has an invisible man ever created something? Find one and have him make something!
Explosions create messes! Give the mess empty space, time, and gravity, and it might look something like our universe!
Don't forget, it is far more likely that an explosion created us, than it is for an explosion to create something capable of designing us! There are lots of turtles down there!
Yes it does, Your creator is more complex than the creation, and one of us came about by chance. unless the creator was created. which is even less likely. Turtles, Turtles!!!
Your creator would also be subject to entropy, after all, before he could make floods and genocides, he does nothing now!
Your saying the universe cant just exist, How can a creator just exist? You say he always existed, well the same reasoning goes for the universe, however the universe is more probable remember? And don't forget the Law of conservation of energy, matter can not be created!
How can you say that God does nothing now? Earthquakes take place, volcanoes erupt, I tell you, God is the one who is in control of such things. The Law of Entropy was originally applied to heat, but it can also be broadened, as it was by Clausius, to take in the decrease of potentials, or a breakdown over time, which is what we see today. Energy in the state it is had to come from someone, somewhere...God.
I have not seen god make a volcano erupt, there is a volcano perpetually erupting in hawaii, go there and find god! All i see is pressure and magma turned to lava. And if god did such things, hes a murderous cock sucking ass hole.
So if god was the first to exist, where did his energy come from?
A belief in a eternal creator is much easier to swallow than no creator at all, because the universe could not come about without someone/something to create it.
Yes, I have already said this. And if I am correct, I think your trying to say that a creator needs his own creator more than us. Not really...eventually, the 'creation regression process' must cease.
Your not correct, I'm saying there needn't be a creator in the first place. But by your reasoning, "nothing can be first, except something that was always there", is incorrect. Its more likely that whatever was first, or eternal, is as simple as an explosion that released time itself.
My reasoning is simple - that this world is so complex that it must have been made by a Creator. An explosion that releases time itself...do you think that could happen on it's own?
Apparently this comment slipped passed my attention. Like many others on this crappy blog system. I apologize for the delay.
Happen? how can something happen with no time to do it in? The same perplexing conundrum applies to your eternal god just happening on his own as well. But as always, mine is simplicity spontaneously arising, while yours is more complex than modern humans.
Actually evolution is very simple. No miracles required. Remember, your looking from the present to the past. Of course it seems unlikely that way. Look from the past to the present and remember that nothing had to happen the way it did.
Surely you don't actually think that all atheists are homosexuals? You seem to be quite against homosexuality as well. Mayer jim west and pastor ted haggard were anti gay also. Are you hiding a skeleton in your closet like they were? Or are you hiding a vibrating, prostate rubbing dildo?
Homosexuals can have children just like we heterosexuals can. Homosexuals can spread both memes and genes, just as easily as either one of us.
Actaully I don't. There is a chance there could be a god. Similarly, I'm not 100% about unicorns either. They could exist, or have existed somewhere, and we just haven't found them yet. Of course that same rationality goes for giants, fairy's, leprechauns, godzilla, the flying spaghetti monster, the loch ness monster, the creature from the black lagoon, santa clause, the easter bunny, and the tooth fairy. By why stop at mythical creatures? Are you 100% sure that zeus is not the real god?
hmm. "For God so loved the world (meaning everyone and anything in it) that He gave His one and only son (Jesus Christ who died on the cross and rose again FOR US) that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish (go to Hell) but have everlasting life (go to Heaven). He loves US. That's why. And because God is not like us, we will never know how much He loves us because we could never love as much as Him. And don't try and tell me what I've seen. I only said I would pray for you.
I didn't try to tell you what you have seen, I only told you that you do not see what you think you see.
Doxastic involuntarism is a philisophical position that says we have no freewill when it comes to belief. You can read an article about this on my myspace. If doxastic involuntarism is true John 3 is bullshit, and God himself is directly responsible for my disbelief, and ultimately my damnation. I can not choose to believe in god without sufficient evidence, and that evidence isn't there!
Perhaps no one is praying for you. And if they are, perhaps they are doing it with a hard heart. Or perhaps, God simply isn't answering their prayers. Besides, why would anyone want to forgive someone that denied them? Oh, wait. GOD. You see, I walk by faith, and you are the one who walks by sight. I see God everywhere. You don't see anything. I'm still going to pray for you. And if nothing happens over the course of your life, I'll know that it was you who shut Him out.
"Besides, why would anyone want to forgive someone that denied them? Oh, wait. GOD" This makes no sense at all, the word god will never answer a why question.
You walk by faith, I learn though knowledge and experience.
You don't see god everywhere. You only think you do.
I have my doubts that god not answering your prayers has something to do with me, but perhaps its because there is no god?
Join the club. I actually want to start a club full of people that do pray for me on a regular basis.
Be sure to get back to me after a few months so we can see if your prayers are working or not. If it turns out that yours are as useless as everyone else's, perhaps you could try to pray to a different god and see if that works? Perhaps you could drink his blood as a voodoo ritual for my salvation's sake. When that fails, just wish upon a falling star, or rub a lucky rabbits foot.
God has made man to worship and that's an undeniable fact. You weren't born an athiest for it is taught, and I'm yet to meet someone who was born an atheist. If you go into the jungles of the world and visits tribes who have never been preached to, you'll find them worshipping a god wether it be nature or a creature. Why's this though? Read Romans 1:18-32.
In regards to the supernatural, I've seen demons casted out of people and have heard testimonies by many witnesses.. And it's reported that there are christians in Africa who have been raised from the dead. Smith Wiggleworth raised his wife from the dead numerous times. Jesus said that believers would do these things.
I just have one question for you bro. Do you know everything there is to know? If not, do you know half of everything? If not do you know a quarter of everything? Well if your answer is no to all three then maybe God exists outside of the portion that you don't know? Our unbelief in something has no bearing on wether it exists. You can deny the existence of gravity, but jump of a building and see what happens.
God can not be seen, heard, felt, tasted, smelt, or detected by any scientific instrument. As a result of this, it is hard to believe that I'm being unreasonable in concluding that there is no god. How foolish of me to disregard the bible when it talks about god, unicorns, giants, talking snakes and donkeys, dragons, magic, and other supernatural unexplained things for which there is no evidence for, and even evidence against!
I want to know where there is talk of a unicorn? In regards to dragons, those are dinosaurs and other large reptiles. How do I know? Well the word 'dinosaur' was made up centuries after the first english translation of the bible(Old and New Testaments). So dragon was just another word for it. And animals go extinct all the time so there are probably animals that were around hundreds of years ago that we don't know about.
Lucky to get 100 hits? In just one day you've already got 49 hits and 3 5-star ratings. A well thought out video like yours is going to get recommended and watched a lot. It's still not fame, but it's more than you're expecting.

Bringing a creator into the picture and justifying it by saying that "It LOOKS this way, so it has to be this way" is making it more complex than it needs to be.

Time doesn't make things, and neither do self-replicating molecules, except themselves. So why would self-replicating molecules + time = life on earth as we know it??
mrcowan009 4 years ago
self replicating molecules + minor random change + natural selection + time = Life as you know it!
Go pick up The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins, and The Structure of Evolutionary Theory by Stephen Jay Gould.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
What you mean is - molecules which replicate self + randomness (this could include any change) + stick it all outside with other molecules + time (Oh, a few billion years ought to do it!) = You, me, and everything else.
That's ridiculous.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Yes it is! But you did leave out natural selection. If you had included that, it wouldn't be!
How does your invisible man theory explain how life came to be as it is? You cant just say the invisible man did it. You have to tell me how he did it.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Natural Selection was the 'stick it outside with a bunch of other molecules.'
It's called God, and it's a fact. Works like this - God creates world, and has every creature (that is, it's species) created in the beginning. That would include many creatures which are now extinct. Thousands of years later, God makes global flood, and much of life on earth is destroyed. I believe in Genesis, and the rest of the Bible.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Natural selection is more than being around molecules.
So you believe in talking snakes and donkeys, giants, unicorns, magical fruit, ghosts, and a invisible man that curses people he loves to an eternity of torment for HIS mistakes. Mmm hmm.
But you did fail to answer my question, How did he do it?
bodaciousb 4 years ago
I'm not sure what you mean, with either of your comments. The whole explanation for the Bible and God's order of creation is in the Bible, what is it you are wanting explained?
mrcowan009 4 years ago
How did he create us? Did he position each individual atom 1 at a time, did he create evolution, did he fart and out we came? did he burp us out? speak us out? cry us out? Is there any evidence to support the bibles claims? I do know what the bible says, but its FUCKING RIDICULOUS! Talking snakes!??!! hahahaha
bodaciousb 4 years ago
I was not there, but He created man as recorded in Genesis. He did not use evolution. And, yes, there is archaeological evidence to support the Bible, as well as many fulfilled prophecies.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
If you will actually watch my video, Prophecys are fullfilled in the bible. Where is archeological evidence for your "Poof there it is!" theory?
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Well, you ought to know that fossil strata displayed in the average classroom is actually unaccounted for in it's theorized order any where on earth. Many sites only contain certain 'levels', and 'upthrusts' are common, when a separate strata is found mixed with others. Human culture as we know it really shows a flourishing in language and culture to only about 4500 B.C, which would have been after the flood.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Fossilization is rare, and it would not have really occurred until the Flood. Through that catastrophic event we have most of our fossils and rock layers. Fossils are often dated by the rock layers they are in, and vice versa. We have many 'living fossils' today. Creatures are buried, oftentimes, according to their environment in which they died.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Fossils would not have occurred until the flood? Most of our fossils come from the flood? You have to clarify this for sure!
Living fossils? I know you belive in talking snakes and ghosts and stuff, so are you implying that these fossilized bones get up and walk around?
And your right, things do tend to stay where they died! What does this have to do with creation vs. evolution?
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Fossilization is something that does not occur very often (but not every million years), and the flood would provide the perfect scenario to create the 'fossil grave-yards' that we come across so often.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
By 'living fossils', I mean creatures who are virtually unchanged as far back as supposed 'millions of years', when in all sense they should have at least evolved a little. Next time you see a headline such as 'ancient shark re-discovered off the coast of Japan', realize that it was likely, by evolutionary reckoning, believed to have gone extinct at least 200 million years ago.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Creatures are often buried according to their environment, which would explain the 'order of strata', with bacteria and 'tough little things' being at the bottom, and man being near the top. (NOTE - This is not always the case.)
mrcowan009 4 years ago
I thought you meant they get up and walk around, after all you do believe in things equally ridiculous. Sure there are many species that didnt change much, but what does that have to do with the magical skydaddy?
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Didn't change AT ALL. When they should have. And the fossil record of 'earth's history' has proved to be misleading. It's a crutch in the evolution story.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
You should learn about evolution from a non creationist resource. We have millions of transitional forms, off the coast of jamaca we have fossils of whales with legs, and progressively less and less of legs as time went on. They still have bones that are the remains of pelvis today!
bodaciousb 4 years ago
I find that hard to believe. If these pre-whales had a pelvis and a propulsive tail, their reproductive organs would be crushed, and without one, (BTW, pelvises just don't disappear), their legs would be useless. Most discoveries are actually fractions of skeletons found in generally the same area, with an artist's interpretation. Fins on modern whales are not vestigal legs, they assist reproduction.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
I never said they disapeard, they evolved to not have them any more. Why would their reproductive organs be crushed? Most discoveries are just fractions of fossils, But we have all of the pieces of teh complete fossils, found in the same strata, of the same animal, in the same area. And I'm pretty sure that this example has complete fossil remains. Im sure you can find out by looking at HHMI's evolution lecture series.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
But ask most scientists how we know that a certain strata is a certain age, and they will say it is because fossil 'A' was found in it. Ask how we know how old fossil 'A' is, and you will often be told that it is known because it was found in a certain strata...
mrcowan009 4 years ago
We know how old a strata is because it is in layers, oldest on bottom, newest on top, usually! We know because of the radioactive decay in the layers, and yes, the presence of fossils as well. And no, most scientists would not agree with you on this. I can only think of a couple, and one runs a creationist museum, and the other is in prison for fraud. And neither of which submit them selves to the peer review system, the most important part of science!
bodaciousb 4 years ago
I thought the most important part of science was fact. Radioactive decay (which is the only proof you really mentioned) has it's own problems in the possibility of, and oftentimes commonplace, contamination.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
And its faults are discovered via the other methods of dating.
Science finds facts, via prediction, experimentation, and peer review.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Alright, but evolution is not a fact. No experiment has ever proven it.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Nor is gravity, plate tectonicts, quantum mechanics, so on so forth. We evolved from the chimpanzee and bonobo, thats just as much a fact as gravity holding the moon in orbit. Evolution is a theory because we dont know how or why we evolved to have the unique characteristics of a large brain, and opposable thumbs. And there are many experiments and prediction to validate evolution.

mrcowan009 4 years ago
My reply aren't working here. I've tried 10 or so times. i think its my trying to post a URL.
Look up "creationism evolution nas" on google. Its the first link. Read the book titled "Science, Evolution, and Creationism"
This is a free book about evolution and creationsm by the Natinal Academy of Science. Its short, full of evidence, and right to the point.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
I googled it, but didn't get it. I got something by AiG, in fact. You could send me the address.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
sent.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Go read the new NAS book I previously mentioned. There is just to much on this topic to fit in 500 characters. I'm 99% sure that you have never read a book on evolution that doesn't include the phrase "in the beginning god created..."
I don't know see why fundy christians are so anti-science, especially evolution. Quantum physics deals a much harder blow to the existence of god(s) than evolution!
bodaciousb 4 years ago
But you're not using quantum physics to defend your position. :-)
mrcowan009 4 years ago
i dont need too. you don't address half of the the things I say, go read the book! its like 80 pages, 60 if you exclude the credits and stuff.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
A flood would provide the perfect scenario, so would heavy rainfall. So would a lake, the ocean, river beds, All you need is water and sedimentary rock. Its funny in your last sentence you say we come across fossil grave yards so often, and in your first sentence you say fossilization doesn't occur very often, which is it?
bodaciousb 4 years ago
In the Flood, many creatures would be washed into 'fossil graveyards', part of this gigantic fossilization of animals because of the Flood.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
You only addressed part of my message, and you didn't say anything new.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
A flood could have done this, or many floods, yes. But I do not see why it was not a global flood.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
There isn't enough water, unless of course, the earth used to be less mountainous, or with no land features at all.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Many of earth's current largest and grandest geological features, such as marine trenches, canyons, and mountains, (Mt.Everest has loads of seashells buried in it), could have been formed by a gigantic flood.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
How were marine trenches formed by a flood? Fossils are found on everest, because 70 million years ago, as per plate tectonic theory, it was much lower. How do you explain that the Himalayas, Everest included, are still rising if indeed those fossils are there because of a flood?
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Erosion and the flood carved out marine trenches just as it would carve out a canyon.
The Himilayas may be rising due to the movement of tectonic plates, but I don't believe that they were lower (or there at all) 70 MYA.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
I think you missed the point, how did a flood occur under water? Mariene trenches tend to be fairly angular, as if it were different banks of a fault line, if it were errosion by currents, it would look quite different.
Science doesn't care about your beliefs.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Marine trenches may have been formed by the shifting of tectonic plates, during the flood, not by the water itself.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Why would it have to be during the flood? I suppose you believe in noah's ark and animals getting freaky incest style. Well those are far from facts, they don't even count as theory's, or even hypothesis, there hardly even guesses! I challenge you to raise a population of 64 mice in 5 generations, using just 2 originals(one male, one female).
bodaciousb 4 years ago
According to the Bible, it would make sense for it to happen during the flood, but it wouldn't have to. Whoa, though, why do I have to raise 64 mice in 5 generations?
mrcowan009 4 years ago
To prove that you can get a healthy population from two individuals. It cant be done, your third generation mice would be deformed and severely handicapped, your 4th generation probably wouldn't happen. Incest doesn't work, and keeping two males of every species on the ark would be just as well as one male one female!
bodaciousb 4 years ago
However, the genetic history would have been clearer back then, giving less chance for deforms.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Genetic reproduction permitted incest early on in hominids? How on earth or beyond did you come to that conclusion?
All I'm saying is that Adam and Eve could have done just a good job as raising a healthy human population as Adam and Steve.(I want the preceding comment to appear on my headstone!)
bodaciousb 4 years ago
It would actually be quite possible, bodacious.
Science shows that people could have reproduced for up to 27,000 years without enough change to cause mutation.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Your first sentence is gibberish.
Strata are layers of rock, what does them mixing have to do with anything?
Yes humans are a young species.
Noah's flood? So your saying we had no, or almost no knowlege of written or spoken word prior to 4500bc, Where do you suppose genesis came from then?
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Moses penned Genesis, around 2000 BC.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
He also had has men kill children among the prisoners and rape women. Today in a america we call these people terrorists.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
When did the men rape women and kill just children?
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Numbers 31:17-18
:17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
:18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
Read the whole chapter of numbers 31.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
I just noticed something.. Why did you say "Just children"?
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Because they were not told to simply kill children, but to conquer people.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
actually it says to kill all the males among the little ones. That means kill all the male children.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
But not 'go kill children'. There aren't contradictions in the Bible, bodacious. But I don't expect you to believe that simply because I say so. Do you think there is a chance that there is a heaven?
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Umm yes there are plenty of contradictions. Yes moses is saying, "go kill the young male children, and non-virgin women. Yes there is a heaven. It's right here at home!
bodaciousb 4 years ago
If this is heaven, then why do you get sick, and eventually die?
You completely believe that there is no afterlife at all?
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Enjoy being sick you get to stay home! And You die as the result of evolution/biology/physics. If we lived for ever the earth would be a bit over populated!
Nope, there is no afterlife! As there is no evidence for one! It was a concept most likely created to help ease the emotional pain of a loved one dying, and was adopted by religion as a method of both making people hope/and scaring them into belief. Why do you ask?
bodaciousb 4 years ago
But let's face it bodacious, this life is far from heaven. Why do you think that there's no afterlife, just because you haven't died and seen it yet?
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Ive said it before, on here, The same reason i don't believe in unicorns, or giants, elves, worldwide floods, taking snakes, angels demons, gods, devils, or gigantic flesh eating venomous ducks. There is no evidence, and no coherent reason to believe in one! However, there is a good, coherent reason that it is nothing but a made up story used to threaten/reward people who believe nonsense.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
What would it take to convince you that there is a God? What about seeing that this world couldn't possibly be made without one?
mrcowan009 4 years ago
a1. Evidence.
a2. We've been though this! No, that god would require more explanation than we would, as we are much more simple! Saying a magical invisible man did it, has never been a correct answer.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
The evidence is in creation and the conscience. Everyone has a conscience, con=With, science=Knowledge, which attests to right and wrong. Just because you haven't seen God doesn't mean He's not there, bodacious.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Where is the evidence in/of creation?
How does my ability to choose for myself what is right and what is wrong, point to the existence of an invisible man?
You do make lots of assertions, I have yet to see you back them up.
bodaciousb 4 years ago 2
Thanks a lot for your response.
Do you think the human body is amazingly complex? (Go ask you doctor how much of it you could spare losing and still be normal.) It is, as is all other life. This is evidence for a Creator.
You conscience is what tells you right from wrong. For example, you know that it is wrong to murder, right?
mrcowan009 4 years ago
That is not evidence for a creator, that is evidence for complex life. For how it came to be so complex look the the theory of evolution. There is no invisible sky daddy needed to explain it.
You failed to answer my question yet again, so i will repost it here: How does my ability to choose for myself what is right and what is wrong, point to the existence of an invisible man? Please answer it this time. And don't just rephrase what you have already said, as it is in now way an answer.
bodaciousb 4 years ago 2
Thanks for your response, bodacious.
Even IF evolution were true, it wouldn't explain how life could get here in it's present state. It would take miracle after miracle to even create the first amoeba. So it doesn't really negate the idea of a god.
Your conscience tells you right from wrong, it doesn't 'give you the ability to choose'. For example, you know that it is wrong to murder, right?
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Evolution is a very sound Theory, that is a composition of facts to explain a single force in nature. Evolution is a fact, deal with it. Saying that evolution is true therefore there is no god, is a false dichotomy, so you are correct in that! However, there is still no evidence for any god/gods.
Your second paragraph is still missing the point completely, as your still stuck trying to define conscience when I ask how the presence of that conscience is evidence for a magical sky daddy.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Hold on, just a second. You know it's wrong to murder, right?
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Yes I do. Now again, for the fourth time, I need to recall your attention back to the original question. How does my ability to choose for myself what is right and what is wrong, point to the existence of a creator? Any further post you have that fails to answer this question will be deleted!! You have avoided it long enough!
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Failure to answer the question for the fourth time, and simply rephrasing your original assertion, has resulted in the deletion of your comment!
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Have you even actually thought about what you wrote? Have you even looked at an evolution textbook?
Evolution NEVER EVER EVER said were life STARTED! It never has, it never will. If you want to believe in God, Aliens, the Tooth Fairy, whatever, than do it. Evolution comes AFTER 'initial life'.
Evolution states 2 things.
1: Mutations
2: Stronger mutations grow.
Simple. Two zebras run away from a lion. Slower gets eaten, faster lives. Genes for faster wins. Hence, evolution.
bersaba 3 years ago 2
Hi Bersaba. The evidence for evolution is seriously lacking. This is how simple it is - Two bacterium compete for food, one does not reach it, and dies, the other has not enough ability to digest (it hasn't evolved yet) and dies. Sad.
It just doesn't make sense.
Regardless of evolution, what do you think is on the other side when someone dies?
mrcowan009 3 years ago

ApolloniusJr 2 months ago
Dear mrcowan009, Since we are so complex and so advanced then we must have been created by something, right? Not really, you see, because the infinite regression argument has to stop somewhere, it must not really be infinite. God is eternal, without beginning and without end, and He created the dimension of time. He needs no 'creator'.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Nor does the universe. Time itself was trapped in the singularity before the big bang. And an explosion is infinitely more simple, and easier to come about by chance, than something capable of designing such an explosion.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Has an explosion ever created something? Try it out. The universe cannot be eternal.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Has an invisible man ever created something? Find one and have him make something!
Explosions create messes! Give the mess empty space, time, and gravity, and it might look something like our universe!
Don't forget, it is far more likely that an explosion created us, than it is for an explosion to create something capable of designing us! There are lots of turtles down there!
bodaciousb 4 years ago
The idea that we came from a mess of gases that sat around for several billion years does not make more sense than that we were created.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Yes it does, Your creator is more complex than the creation, and one of us came about by chance. unless the creator was created. which is even less likely. Turtles, Turtles!!!
bodaciousb 4 years ago
God is eternal, He did not need to be 'created'.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
The universe is eternal, it did not need creation either.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
The Law of entropy means that the universe cannot be eternal. 'Infinite regression to a creator' has to stop somewhere, it cannot go on forever.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Your creator would also be subject to entropy, after all, before he could make floods and genocides, he does nothing now!
Your saying the universe cant just exist, How can a creator just exist? You say he always existed, well the same reasoning goes for the universe, however the universe is more probable remember? And don't forget the Law of conservation of energy, matter can not be created!
BTW, entropy has to do with heat!
bodaciousb 4 years ago
How can you say that God does nothing now? Earthquakes take place, volcanoes erupt, I tell you, God is the one who is in control of such things. The Law of Entropy was originally applied to heat, but it can also be broadened, as it was by Clausius, to take in the decrease of potentials, or a breakdown over time, which is what we see today. Energy in the state it is had to come from someone, somewhere...God.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
I have not seen god make a volcano erupt, there is a volcano perpetually erupting in hawaii, go there and find god! All i see is pressure and magma turned to lava. And if god did such things, hes a murderous cock sucking ass hole.
So if god was the first to exist, where did his energy come from?
bodaciousb 4 years ago
The infinite regression argument stops at the universe. Time was trapped in the big bang and didn't exist until the explosion =).
bodaciousb 4 years ago
A belief in a eternal creator is much easier to swallow than no creator at all, because the universe could not come about without someone/something to create it.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
You have already said this as well. Something simple can come about much easier than something more complex than even we humans by chance.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Yes, I have already said this. And if I am correct, I think your trying to say that a creator needs his own creator more than us. Not really...eventually, the 'creation regression process' must cease.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Your not correct, I'm saying there needn't be a creator in the first place. But by your reasoning, "nothing can be first, except something that was always there", is incorrect. Its more likely that whatever was first, or eternal, is as simple as an explosion that released time itself.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
My reasoning is simple - that this world is so complex that it must have been made by a Creator. An explosion that releases time itself...do you think that could happen on it's own?
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Apparently this comment slipped passed my attention. Like many others on this crappy blog system. I apologize for the delay.
Happen? how can something happen with no time to do it in? The same perplexing conundrum applies to your eternal god just happening on his own as well. But as always, mine is simplicity spontaneously arising, while yours is more complex than modern humans.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Huh? I'm sorry, but I'm not sure where this comment is directed.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Okay, now I see. There's nothing simple a evolution, it would take hundreds of thousands of miracles everyday to truly occur.
mrcowan009 4 years ago
Actually evolution is very simple. No miracles required. Remember, your looking from the present to the past. Of course it seems unlikely that way. Look from the past to the present and remember that nothing had to happen the way it did.
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Either way, present past or past present...I don't see the simplicity.

I only said I would pray for you.
brs9008 4 years ago
I didn't try to tell you what you have seen, I only told you that you do not see what you think you see.
Doxastic involuntarism is a philisophical position that says we have no freewill when it comes to belief. You can read an article about this on my myspace. If doxastic involuntarism is true John 3 is bullshit, and God himself is directly responsible for my disbelief, and ultimately my damnation. I can not choose to believe in god without sufficient evidence, and that evidence isn't there!
bodaciousb 4 years ago
Perhaps no one is praying for you. And if they are, perhaps they are doing it with a hard heart. Or perhaps, God simply isn't answering their prayers. Besides, why would anyone want to forgive someone that denied them? Oh, wait. GOD. You see, I walk by faith, and you are the one who walks by sight. I see God everywhere. You don't see anything. I'm still going to pray for you. And if nothing happens over the course of your life, I'll know that it was you who shut Him out.
brs9008 4 years ago
Many pray for me, needlessly.
God has never answered any prayer.
"Besides, why would anyone want to forgive someone that denied them? Oh, wait. GOD" This makes no sense at all, the word god will never answer a why question.
You walk by faith, I learn though knowledge and experience.
You don't see god everywhere. You only think you do.
I have my doubts that god not answering your prayers has something to do with me, but perhaps its because there is no god?
bodaciousb 4 years ago
don't worry... I'm praying for you. "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." -James 5:16
brs9008 4 years ago

Thats 4 questions..
