I enjoyed playing warhammer to but (and i know this is going to get me a lot of negative comments but still..) i got to the point that i discoverd that its loaded with occultism! @Eldood1000 if you are more interested in a close combat heavy army, warriors of chaos wins out over dark elves. dark elves are a mere strength 3, which makes dealing with heavily armored infantry and cavalry difficult. if you are looking to be able to do well in magic, shooting, and be ok in combat, go dark elves; a more combat based army is warriors of chaos//they are also much cheaper in money as you will need fewer units; good luck man

How the warriors reformed to face the Blood Knights if they lost the combat? They can't reform in movement phase, and they can reform in combat only if they win.

Also you played this scennario with pretty stupid points. 1250 vs. 2500 means that VC gets a lord and you don't, and lords are such a pain to tackle.

well the new warriors of chaos can use banner so they get frenzy for the rest of the game, and whit additional hand weapons they got 4 attacks each.. then you can take mark of nurgle that gives you the bonus that enemies are at 1- to hit. i think its best using frenzy and great wepons

Choas warriors with Hand weapon and shield have a 3+ save against missle attacks, and a 2+ save against hand to hand attacks from models engaged to the front. With an additional hand weapon (no shield) they get a 4+ save and 3 attacks.

Almost always I'll take the sword and shield. 2+ save and 2 attacks (or 3 with Khorne!) makes them better than any knights in the game other than Chaos knights.

If I was Devstro and playing against an army with very limited range, I would have stocked up an army with a huge warrior regiment and a large knight unit as well.

Why not both if you have points to have both. What God do you play?, that can sometimes make a difference. (Nurgle with shield is hard to kill and Khorne with extra weapon with a 6 liner is 25 Attacks).

both are just as good as each other. fantasy is good if you like lots of units slugging at each other and first turn tactics having a crucial effect on the game or 40k if you like blasting the opposing teams brains out

I prefer ghouls, the skeletons are more durable only against weak enemies. Also ghouls are much more offensive, able to deal ok amounts of damage to T3 enemies.

Actually the warriors of chaos are not the best in close combat ,but when you put it all togheter they are kinda the best units in warhammer.But you will always need to pick your actions with much care.

I believe that a VC army would be more expensive, becasue of the number of models that you will need. WoC you could do cheaply. Buy 3 boxes of Marauder Horsemen, and 2-3 boxes of Chaos Knights. All that costs around 125-150$ and it gives you the start of a good army.
