Very cool the way you positioned the camera so that the clouds would travel "up".

What kind of equipment did you use? Are these frames shot in near IR?

No, I simply used a combination of two filters; Color invert and in color controls the Saturate option, via "NorrKross Movie" editing. (Mac based)

As for the clouds my camera was pointing at a good 45 to 60 percent angle, thus capturing ... the bulk of them towards zenith.
