  • I DISAGREE!! I could buy 3 Priuses and fit 12 people and go for picnic rather than driving Telsa..

On top of that, Toyota or other Japanese cars indeed is a very long lasting cars! Don't get me wrong, I love American muscle cars as well as I love AMERICA. But think about the efficiency rather than how to showing off to your environment.

Sports cars are waste of money! Electric cars are helping you to save money..

  • GM's "EV-1" died shortly after... You should say why & how it died. Please see the documentary film, "Who killed the electric car".

    thanks.

  • wait 'till you will have TOSHIBA SCiB LITHIUM TITANATE BATTERIES!

that's gonna be the START of all electric cars! 6000 cycles charge-discharge and still the battery retains 80% of its inital capacity!

EMAIL TOSHIBA AND DEMAND THEY START THE PRODUCTION OF THESE BATTERIES IN Niigata prefecture(next to FUKUSHIMA)...

It's gonna be a sell out of these batteries...

  • Tesla ain't bout to give you shit bitch! Lol

  • kate bohner... lol i think u have to be english to find that funny

  • Do you think Telsa will make a model that is around $15,000? I'm a starving hard working american. that's all I could afford.

  • When will people realise that tesla is much much worse for the environment than the petrol equivalent (the lotus elise). The lithium - ion batteries used take vast amounts of energy to create, and when used with such a high current draw don't last even a quater of the milage a petrol engine would. Not to mention, that electricity to charge it has to came from somewhere.

  • @fireflybuzzbuzz As more electric cars and released to the public just like they want, so will better battery technologies. And yes the charging would need to come from somewere how about solar panels? wind turbines? and the many other amazing free energy devices that the UNSTOPPABLE MONOPOLIZING OIL CORPORATIONS And FOSIL FUEL POWER COMAPANIES Have stuffed right at the back of their closets... along with the dead bodies of the people who created them.

  • Her name is boner??? Hahaha ...

  • Big deal that a select amount of celebrities and ultra rich bought a number of these things. Bring the price down to within range of the masses and then talk to us in an excited voice.

  • the new model s scheduled for release this year will be sold at 49,000$ and after the money you save from gas it is estimated to cost the equivalent of a 35,000 vehicle. So I'm guessing the prices will get even lower to some day compete with the prius.

  • @maxedout2000 It's called the Model S.

  • GAHHHH! KIWF

  • LoL she moves like the sesame street puppets controlled with sticks

  • Hahahaha....

  • Tesla not Tesler

  • bla bla bla bla, i want to see the tesla!

  • Fail.

  • Is she on speed???

  • People who don't know the first thing about engineering sure love to buy advertising :)

  • DUDEE,

    my names tesla!!!!

  • and omfg... her last name is bohner? haha wooow i've never left so many comments talking about one person

  • gunchibaiyya (2 weeks ago)

A little less body movement would be better.

i knew i wasnt the only one.

  • she looks like someones controlling her like a puppet. am i the only person who thinks that she moves like one of the muppets?? yeesh..

  • I bought a new 2005 Toyota Prius. It is flawless. It gets anywhere between 45 to 55 miles to the gallon. It has a great GPS and kick anus stereo. This video is lame because she disses the Toyota without driving it. It's not that lame once you pass up a few gas stations...

  • A little less body movement would be better.

  • teslas name is worth more than this...

  • her name is boner

  • Nikola Tesla also invented the AC induction motor much like the one in the Roadster amongst many other things (radio, remote control, tesla coil, spark plugs, etc. and pioneered in robotics, radar, lasers to name a few).

  • peice of shit. they are a little late, Japan has already dominated the market. I'll take an insight, or maybe a Honda Civic Hybrid, or heck Maybe when they are mainstream I'll purchase an FCX Clarity. American Automakers are doomed and should be put out to pasture.

  • Wanted Tesla Car, new or used, also buy options and reservations.

    HELP ME!!!

    Thank you

  • The batteries is right behind the seats and when you hit the "volt pedal" they are putting out a great amount of electromagnetic radiation that can make people tired and even cause cancer. The large steel box the batteries are stored in, is probably not isolated for the rays.Remember we contains 75% water. An EMF instrument when an eletrical car is driven and batteries is under load will show if it is within safety limit.

  • do you work for an oil company. and where do you get your facts

  • Whats the point of this car? It's a old recycled parts Lotus for twice the money with no boot, 2 seats and a bone jarring ride on race spec suspension. In short a impractical, irrelivent and expensive weekend track car that is anything but a "daily driver". A waste of money and resources that could've better spent devoping a relevent replacement to the cars we drive to work and down to the shops every day, with 5 seats, a boot and a price tag that wont drive (excuse the pun) familys broke.

  • Well,8 percent is actually Lotus and it's about 30 percent more which you make back on fuel savings and it is just a beginning.A much better start than any of the large car manufacturers who have the r&d resources and the money. And they are quite comfy, even have seat warmers for cold days.Imagine what they will accomplish if they grow into a larger company.I bet they make a better family car than the big three, and sooner too.

  • It is the introductory car to get attention. It is for driving fun -- and it looks like it will fill that bill nicely. Tesla has plans to build family sedans as well, but this car is the sharp end of the wedge to demonstrate that contrary to popular belief, electric cars are not slow or boring. If they just built a sensible car, far fewer people would take notice. Plus, if you build the hi-tech one first, you develop more advanced technology that is easily applied to the more basic cars.

  • I agree it is a show case of what can be done with an electric car and it is defiantly the way of the future. But this car is supposed to compete against cars such as the Lotus Elise (which it shares the same chassis, suspension, brakes and body as) and compete in the enthusiast market but fact is a Lotus has a 1800cc Toyota engine in it which make a way less impact them a Porsche, Mustang, Evo and WRX for example so why try to change the market that has the least impact on enviroment?

  • the effects of global warming is more unpredictable and extreme wether, not just warmer. It can be unusually cold, when it should be warm and the other way around. However large the footprint may be by the electric car, I sure will feel much better, not having to breathe poluted air! Take a walk in LA a hot summer day and try to find some clean airparticles to inhale...

  • The "footprint" left from making an electric car is more than a "footprint" left by a average gasoline powered car in its entire life.

All that global warming talk is bullshit. If that was actually happening, it would be a helluva lot hotter outside.

  • What is that assertion based on? "Climate change" is a more accurate term than "global warming". Average temperature increases around the whole world, and given the complexity of air and sea currents, that means some places will actually be cooler. Besides, with an average temperature increase of 1 degree, do you think you'd feel the difference? This is why they use scientific instruments like "thermometers" instead of sending guys like you outside to tell them "nope, feels pretty cool to me"

  • SWEET. An electric girl talkin bout an electric car!

  • GM really screwed us, 1996 people, electric cars were driving around in cali, from ford rangers,rav-4s/ev1s, just think how far these cars could have come if they were not crushed by bush.

I get so SICKK when Bush says america is addicted to oil and needs alternatives.

This is what he should have said

( We are addicted to oil, so me and ANDY CARD sued california to stop the mandate of electric cars so my family and oil buddies will continue to rape every american, thank you) Bush....

  • You got it about it right.

  • What California should have done is instead of mandating zero-emission vehicles, they should have just taxed the hell out of gas till the only viable alternative would be an electric car. It's more effective than a mandate, and at least we keep the taxes, instead of sending it to the Middle East.

"Americans always do the right thing, after they've exhausted every alternative."

    -Winston Churchill.

Capitalism works guys, just gotta give it time to show you..

  • and everyone would have loved them for doing that.

There's a problem with electric cars. The EV1 had problems:the main one is that it doesn't exist. What we need is something we don't have which we could have. An electric car, 4 door sedan with 160 mile range that charges in 5 minutes for 30k. Doable? Of course. But who's going to make it? Not a car company. Even when we could use a full electric car the closest thing GM comes up with is a short range electric with a GAS ENGINE.

  • Tesla, btw, is coming out with a luxury and mid-range sedan sometime in the next decade. I, for one, am excited about the future, except in politics ;-D

  • California DOES tax the hell out of gas. We have the highest gas in the country because of our strict emissions standards. I laugh wen gas goes up. It just means we're closer to the breaking point and the end of the gas car.

  • Gas in New York is $6.00

  • In case you haven't noticed bush worked for an oil company. His idea of an alternative is more drilling HERE instead of buying it from THERE. He just needs to stave off the problem for about 6 more months.

  • The oil problem is multi-faceted, and therefore needs a multi-faceted solution. A Saudi oil minister said as much. More drilling IS needed, but also more incentives for fuel-efficiency, more refineries, and most importantly, many more nuke-plants to cut fossil fuels from our electrical grid. Oil has no future, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't get as much of it as profitably as we can. Drilling/more refineries (once operational) give us a little extra time to adapt to a post-oil world.

  • your a retard and probably work for an oil company

  • nope. In fact, i'm saving up for a Prius and this Tesla is my new dream car. You obviously lack the maturity, or just intelligence, to notice my previous post basically says oil is finished..

  • She's lovely, effervescent and enthusiastic.

    But.

She effectively said she's not buying a Prius, er, and not buying a Tesla either.

But "the environment needs to be saved."

I would make a wild guess that what she drives now is a Navigator/Armada/Suburban/WhateverHugeGasHogMonster. It's hard to give up your nice stuff for something as piffling as the environment.

  • Wrong, EXXon will buy the most share in the company and produce just enough. No one is more powerful than the oil company.

  • all of us together have some money... and if we all go into this together and apply our money to this company, then where will Exxon get their money?

  • Don't sound so happy. Lithium ion batteries are very expensive. If one cell costs $10, then 6300 will cost $63,000 to replace.

  • Bull. The pack costs around 20 000 $. And hey EESTOR are making fantastic batteries/capacitors which are actually cheaper than leac-acid batteries and you will be able to charge the car in 5 minutes. You can use it in your Tesla when the lithium-ion battery pack is finally dead. I also think most people who owns new electric cars now a days will keep them in mint condition and they will probably last over 50 years by doing so.

  • They can be recycled. Either way, Tesla has already factored in a mid-life battery-replacement into the cost of the vehicle.

  • How are you going to afford a Tesla with a job as a Youtube semi-newsperson? Get the Prius and save some face.

  • is it me or does she move like a robot??

  • "You don't need to say goodbye to anything if you own a Prius."

    Except your balls.

  • So you're a pretencious, self-centered woman who'd rather have a Tesla, which NO one can currently drive because they're still being made and whom very very few people can afford. I assume you're in that category judging by the outfit and the crappy haircut. Prius is affordable. It's available and it works. Three things that scares the crap out of the traditional car companies. Tesla won't be mainstream, very few will be produced in a year. Stop being a whore for the auto industry.

  • Nikolai Tesla ...forgotten? What school did this idiot go to? Also I want to know whats in her Grandmother medicine cabinet that looks like a Prius.

  • Your vids suck. You need to show the Car.

  • She hits on that south african guy. And I agree she could have made it better (at least by showing off her nude breasts)

  • Why would you want to watch wrinkled-up shriveled-up radishes?

  • LOL good point

  • i think even if her boobs were all wrinkled and shit it would STILL make her video more interesting.

  • So True!

  • I LOVE MY PRIUS... 50 MPG and my long-legged teenager has plenty of room in the back! And I bought it for less than $24K! It's not a soup can... and believe me, with gas at $3/gallon, I'll see more cars like mine!

  • the mass market does nothing for the environment

  • what kind of douche bag would post up this video???

  • that's wonderful, but who the hell can pay 100,000. and the mass market does alot more for the environment. :/

  • damn shut up and show the car already.

    lady you need to learn.

    LESS MEANS MORE.

less of you and more of the car.

  • "What I meant to say was FOR NOW we need the Prius because its range is much farther than the Tesla."

For long trips yes. However most of us just drive around town where we live, maybe no more than 40-50 miles a day. The electric car is perfect for that. And they will be offering a solar charging option, so the cost to drive would be NOTHING. Too bad Big Oil. Your record setting profits ARE going to take a hit. This is the future.

  • The car is awesome.

The chick is very annoying. I wonder if she's doing that to be "discovered" Not likely to happen...

  • Love the title of this clip

  • Cool, but ...uh, it's a two-seater. Where's my kid going to sit?

It is heartening to know that things like these are being made though. It's a step in the right direction. Hybrids aren't the ultimate answer, they're just a transitional vehicle until electrics or fuel cell or biodiesel alternatives become more widely available.

Meanwhile, I like my Prius just fine, thanks.

  • Great Presentation!

  • The Video Would Be Better If She Wasent So Funny Looking

  • Tesla Motors is just a money grabbing selfish nazi Nikola Tesla wanted everyone to have these for free!!WHy cant we build our own make our cars into these?

  • You can change a car to run off of electricity instead of gasoline. Many people have. Tesla is just the first major company to start making them.

  • Tesla is making one of the most awesome electric cars ever created, but they are definitely not the first major company to start building EVs for the public.

GM, Chevy, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda & Nissan all made some very nice electric cars & trucks back in the 1990s.

  • Oh sorry what I ment to say is that they will be the first to make and actually keep making strictly electric cars.

  • nudebushwalker, I have removed your comment due to its vulgarity. Please watch your language in the future.

  • Right on Kate! I can;t stand the distasteful comments. You're such a nice girl and shouldn't stand for those types of comments.

  • Yes agreed, but there is nothing wrong with a little light hearted debate, right Ironhelix15?

  • I will wait for there to be an SUV!! Then its on!

  • You need to seriously get some help, since you obviously have a lot of issues. Also you need to learn respect! Internet or not, you are very rude and immature! you should be one to talk, didn't you ever learn when you were little that people who pick on other people are only doing it to make themselves feel better, and are usually a reflection of the insult they give? Think about it. Take care

  • y don't they replace batteries with another tesla's patent? He found a way to transmit AC over long distances,an that patent woul make this car THE BEST OF THE BEST!

  • Please join the group I have created for fans of KBTVonline - just search KBTV and groups.

  • I WANT ONE! I drive on the Autobahn daily...do you think I could give it a whirl?

  • Kate, I loved the story and am excited each and every day to watch my daily dose as I know you are going to "teach" us all something we didn't already know. And, those smarty pants that think they know it all and say rude things...well, let's have them try and turn HOURS upon HOURS upon DAYS of research into a daily video! HA.....they wouldn't last a week.

  • Eee.. Less body shake, more technical details.

  • Thanks for the advise. I'll keep that in mind next time I shoot an episode.

  • Well athough the roadster has a high price (witch i would think a big online star like yourself coul afford), they will be comming out with a lower price 4 door model that most of americans can enjoy. 200 mile range is very far, if you think about it, it's very rare that you ever travel more than 200 miles a day.

  • Tesler? Umm, it's actually TESLA (same as the car name).

EV1 didn't die - it was killed at birth (see 'Who killed the electric car?')

Tesla is a very hot car and does a number on most any 'normal' vehicle. 200 miles! That's a nice range, too bad they doin't inlcude an optional generator pack to allow psuedo-hybrid range extension. Make the gen a bio-diesel!

  • Who the fuck are you anyway and why the introduction has your photos?

  • Why don't you do a little research yourself and find out. I was a correspondent for CNBC, I have writen for Forbes magazine and Co-authored "Trump: Art of the Comeback." Additionally, this program is produced and written by myself, therefore my pictures are in the opening of each show. Please refrain from using profanity in your comments.

  • ok sry

  • Dude, not cool. This is her show. She can put her pic anywhere in it she wants.

  • true

  • man dude she pwned that guy in her comment. man she is so hot, i wanna fuck her till she don't know what's what. damn look at her tits, perfect. i just wanna *makes animal noises* goddamn i just sprayed my pants. fuck i wanna fuck her her so bad!!!

  • "Goodbye Prius ... Hello Tesla!"

Not really. It's great the Tesla doesn't use gas but the range is short. Also, where do you put your luggage and kids? In the trunk?

  • Yes, but then we don't have to use oil, specifically, foreign oil. Self reliance baby!!

  • What I meant to say was FOR NOW we need the Prius because its range is much farther than the Tesla. Yes, we're getting closer but we're not there, yet.

  • Yea n125pt!!!! Thank you! hardstepps certainly takes himself VERY VERY SERIOUSLY. what a jerk!

  • blah

  • I would love to see that! I KBTVonline pink and grey Tesla Roadster! What about a WatercoolerDiaries Tesla? What would that look like, Kate?

  • About three months ago, I was a heartbeat away from buying a forest green Prius ... but in the end I just couldn't get there! (It felt like test-driving a Campbell's Soup can!) The environment needs to be saved -- no doubt -- but I quickly realized that driving a Prius was NOT going to be my contribution! Check out the weekend edition of KBTVonline to check out my dream car ... or how I DO plan to save the environment ;-) Thanks for watching! Kate

  • I realize you want to keep up your "image". But this statement makes you look really really bad-- "The environment needs to be saved -- no doubt -- but I quickly realized that driving a Prius was NOT going to be my contribution!"

What is more important? Your cool sassy "young" image? Or the other peoples wellbeing? You really need someone re re-read your scripts...

  • Well I think you need someone to rethink your mind scripts! Whats wrong if Kate wants to keep up her image? Its called self-esteem.Anyway what Kate has in mind is peoples wellbeing! And yes she is cool and young! Funny is you dont even talk about those people Kate mentions who bought the Tesla.....

Please rethink and be a bit more wise!!!

  • Do you even know Kate? She is the sweetest most spiritual girl in the universe. How can you even write something like this about someone you do not know? Oh! Of course! Anonymously!

  • I couldn't agree more!!

  • That is one of the most ignorant comments I've heard in a while. Were you even listening to what she was saying? Where did you get her personal image out of the comment about the Prius? How do you know what her other contributions might be? YOU DON'T, AND SHOULD NOT MAKE ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT PEOPLE YOU DO NOT KNOW.

  • A soup can? I can't imagine how you could feel that way. You must be used to driving huge monster SUVs or something. I have driven a Prius for several hundred miles and found it to be very well built, solid, safe, and quiet. If you think the Prius is small, you will not like driving a Tesla since the TR has only about 1/4 the amount of interior space...

They are really not even in the same category, so it's kind of moot to even compare the two.
