Too bad the audio in this clip is signal-compressed (loud sounds lowers the general volume) wich makes it loose some of the listeners experience..

However, playing the original loud as hell on a good stereo is energetic rushing feeling, has to be really loud with good rumble in the bass.

Actually audio that is signal compressed just sounds distorted because harmonics are added to the signal. It is how a tube-based distortion pedal works. You are thinking of a song that has undergone normalization to lessen the dynamic range.
