This is great, thanks for posting. In the commentary or extras for Any Given Thursday, he talks about how he was not even planning to play this song in that show, but decided to play it at the last second. Glad he did!

yes Lenny is an SRV song. This is a song john early in hi career and to my knowledge never put on an album. it's called Man on the Side. maybe we are looking at a different video bc this isn't Lenny.

mayer put it on a special edition of room for squares and the live album any given thursday. The guitar work is lenny, you can't tell to well on here because it's acoustic, the lyrics are part of lenny and part written by mayer

This is not lenny. John sometimes plays a little bit of lenny's riffs at the begining of this song, but then he transitions from that into this, which is his song called Man on the Side. Notice Lenny does not have words and this does, that should be your first clue.

@ak231510 I never said this song WAS Lenny. I understand fully that MOTS is a John Mayer song, but he usually uses Lenny as an intro/transition, and that's where this song came from.
