@Orchidbeautyful The first organ that appears (00:40) is in Salemer Münster in Germany. The second organ (01:29) is in Roggenburg Abbey. :) thank you for watching my videos ;)
Koopman's articulation is too flighty for my tastes, I prefer Wolfgang Rübsam's Philips recording in this work - it's a little bit faster yet also clearer thanks to the organ's focused sound, the playing is a bit more cantabile which I absolutely love.
Agree . Tom Koopmans Bach's playing makes Helmut Walchas's average even though some people said he was considered to be one of finest Bach organ players at the time.
Walcha can be a bit boring.. I personally am into Karl Richter's playing but I love this as well. Great articulation and very joyous.
The reason why Walcha was considered one of the greatest is simply because their tastes were different at that time and Stylus Phantasticus had not fully revealed itself to the world.
In short, it's a matter of opinion and taste. But there is no denying that Koopman is a far more exciting organist!

This is good but a little fast. In my opinion Peter Hurford is the MAN when it comes to playing the organ especially Bach

Wonderful, this is such a heroic performance compared to that disgusting rendition by Liudmila Matsyura.
Thanks for sharing.
