  • At a price that cant be beat well look at it now we cant afford it cause of the Russians and other foreign countries pushing the prices up to cripple us.

  • Great to hear Madeline Bell perforning on this popular TV commercial.

  • I know I was only a nipper and child around the 1980's (now 31), but seeing adverts like these made the outlook on life so so simple and filled with happiness - what is so wrong with our world today? materialist, war, government gone down the dogs, no jobs, knife crime, teenage pregnancies - what is happening - somebody please invent a time machine.

  • mate, if it was possible, I be the first one.

  • Great song. I love it.

  • This is Madeline Bell ( Blue Mink ) singing !

  • In the country where mains gas doesn't exist people use Calor Gas in propane tanks refilled by Calor tankers or banks of

47kg propane cylinders from local Calor Gas stockists;can do all the things mains gas can do(if hotter and quicker!)

  • Ive seen this advert on an old VHS tape. Im guessing its around 1982.

  • My uncle worked for the gas board and gave me a promotional demonstration floppy 45 record which was for commercial use only and is all about this subsequent advert. The track was written specifically for the advert and features Madeline Bell on the vocals. Used to have fun playing it on slow speed or backwards until i lent it to a friend who got it creased by accident and then melted it trying to iron it flat. What a plonker ! ruined! ahh good to hear it again.

  • You bloody gave me it you fibbin bounder!

True about the iron incident though!

  • Cook Cook Cook Cookability.... thats the beauty of gas!

  • BTW, the Wonderfuel Gas theme is sung by Madeline Bell, who was in the 60s band Blue Mink, and who also sang some of BBC Radio 1's jingles.

  • PRIVATISATION ALERT!!!!!

Good advert (and advertising campaign) though. From 1985 I believe.

  • whats the song name in the background?
