I have seen the full Mahabharata many times. There is no doubt how brave he is. You are forgetting How Arjun took every body single handed including Karan.
karan was the only warrior in mahanharat (except drona and bheesma) who can defeat arjun easily . karan was able to move back arjun rath few inches it means that he can move back the lord krishna sitting as charioter hanuman sitting on rath few inches so he is greatest warrior in mahabharat
You need to watch Episod 59 and 60 and see how Arjun alone defeated every body. He could have killed every body but did not. Because he was not a cheater like Duryodhan and his team. He still respected the rules of war.

They only took a small group of soldiers there as they didnt plan to go on war with Gandharvas...Why would Karna run to save himself while no weapon can hurt him?
How can Arjuna defeat Karna when he cant even put a scratch on him? Arjuna wasnt even able to defeat Karna during war at Kurukshetra..and multiple times Lord Krishna saved Arjuna. Even in the last match between them, during the fight Lord Krishna complimented Karna!
@nikgokuhil I have read the Mahabharata in good detail. They had taken a vast army with them. Karna did escape from there inspite of being accompanied in large nos as he was defeated by Gandharvas. Arjun did defeat Karna in the Virat war twice. And its not multiple times but once did Krishna save Arjun. Karna was defeated by Abhimanyu too. Karna too could not defeat Arjun.
Karna himself praised Arjun. Krishna too had praised Karna but at Arjun too.
Gandharvas would be severly outnumbered in face of massive Kaurav army! They didnt go on an all out war.
And how in the hell can Karna be defeated when nothing that Arjuna can throw at him would work! Karna might as well be sitting and drinking coffee while Arjuna can keep throwing arrows after arrows at him. From what I've read Arjuna used those arrows which cause the enemy to faint! And apart from what you are counting, Lord Krishna made Ghatotkach get in the way when Arjuna was..
The Virat war raged for very long. Arjun did not use that magic arrow at the first place but only after injuring all of them. A fierce war between him and Ashwathama and also the others. Karna was defeated by Abhimanyu in Kurukshetra. Bhishma was the greatest who defeated his own guru Parshurama in a war who was himself peerless. Karna was no doubt very great and brave but was lost by Drupad in his first war whom Arjuna defeated only accomapnied with 4 brothers.
If it would've been so easy to defeat kauravs..whole war of Kurukshetra would've been over in a day. Also, Karna only retreated once for Duryodhan's safety, defeated once by Abhimanyu, fainted once from Yudhisthir's arrow (lucky shot, also Yudhisthir retreated at full speed after it), and had multiple draws with Arjuna. There is no record of karna loosing other than that. Bheesma I believe should've been greatest, but Lord Krishna gave that praise to Karna for some reason
loosing, he also saved him when Karna used Naag Divya-baan.
Karna was proud of Arjuna in the end, and Krishna praised Arjuna a lot..but when he asked why Krishna was praising karna, Lord Krishna explained his superiority.
I acknowledge Abhimanyu! He was the man! For Bheesma, its still doubtful! he certainly was able..but Lord Krishna acknowledged Karna above all of them!
And Dronacharya was quite wise..but ability wise he couldnt compare to Karna
But it was for safety against the Naag astra and not Karna. Arjuna had many divine weapons obtained from Lord Shiva, many celestial gods and from his 5 yrs stay in heaven. But he still did not use them in the war for the safety of the world and also he did not want the future to say that " it was not he but the divine weapons lead him to victory". Karna on the other hand depended on Nag astra and Brahmastra in the end to kill Arjuna.
You may not be knowing that after Draupadi's swayamwar, when Arjuna won the competition, mnay Kshatriyas incl Duryodhan came to attack Arjuna. When Karna was about to aim his arrow, Arjuna sent his arrow and broke Karna's bow. Karna said that besides Parshurama and Drona, no one else could do this. Saying this he bowed to Arjuna and left the place.
And during Draupadi's swayamwar, 4 pandavs handled rest of them and no one dared to interfere with Karna and Arjuna. They finished about all of the arrows available in that kingdom, in the end Lord Krishna stopped them cause by one stray arrow from Arjuna, Karna's eldest son died. That's when Karna vowed to kill Arjuna. Karna's bow called Vijaya remained intact till the end.
@nikgokuhil Let me explain in detail. Gandharvas had captured Duryodhan and Dushasan and flew heavenward. The latter's wives came pleading to the Pandavas. Yudhistira ordered Bhima and Arjun to rescue them. Arjun shot the Antardhan astra which brought their chariot down and with Bhima fought and defeated them. They were successful in rescuing the 2 brothers. What Karna doing at that time?
Actualy they went into the forest looking for pandavs..When Karna realised that Duryodhan was not with them, he headed back to get him back, but by that time Arjuna and Bheema had already rescued him under Yudhisthir's orders. And Karna only wanted divine weapons cause Arjuna also collected them. Arjuna used such weapons not only in fight against Karna but in many other ones too. Virat war happened and was over on last day of Agyatwas.

Arjuna freely shot at him and his chairoteer, but Karna knew he was shooting at his brother and he never sent an arrow towards Lord Krisnha even by mistake.
Karna was not only defeated by the Gandharvas inspite of having his Kavach and Kundal but also ran away from there to save his life and that too being accompanied by Great maharathis like Duryodhan, Dushasan and the army of Hastinapur. But Arjun only accompanied with Bhima defeated the Gandharvas.

I remember a few years back i used to watch this when it came on because it was so horribly bad that it was so funny, i remember one part that sticks out in my memory they all came riding up in like 15 ft tall pimped out chariots and calmly talked to each other while they fired arrows at each other for about 40 minutes i was balling the whole time i just couldnt stop laughing!

Karna was not as great as i use to think.... He was escapist.... First of all he tried to ignore that his chariots one of the wheel entered a pit and tried to continue the war... he even blamed Arjuna for his chariots debacle... But when he was unable to produce a weapon due to his Gurus Curse, he excused himself from war on pretext of getting the wheel out of pit... lol... What an excuse for saving himself from Arjuna Divya Astra....
You do know that things have been edited in the series! Karna kept fighting even when he got off the chariot. He let go of his bow when Arjuna fainted cause of his arrow. When Lord Krishna revived Arjuna and he pointed an arrow towards Karna that is when karna reminded him of rules. Also when Krishna called him Sootputra and all that, he just smiled and accepted death cause of mutual love and understanding bet'n Lord Krishna and himself

watch rajneeti in which you find suraj (ajay devgan) is given act of karna; the only mistake Karna did according to my point of view is of laughing encouraging panchali's rape incidence although panchali also contribute towards this rage by calling him as a fisherman's son at her "savayam var"
karna was actually exactly equal to arjun, or else krishna wouldn't have taken the path of treachery to kill him. When karna's chariot wheel got stuck in the mud, Arjun as a brave warrior wanted to wait till karna takes out his wheels, but krishna forced him to kill him instantly without waiting, as he knew that Arjun will not be able to kill him fairly.

Brothers, Danveer Karna was the best warrior his luck was never with him from his birth..... he promised his mother that he would never kill any of his brothers even though his father Suryadev warned him about Indra he gave away his protective kavach to honor a brahmin. Parsurama though being a partial Avatara of Vishnu did not know the truth about his birth ...so many obstacles and setbacks not a smooth life at all but it's all Sri Hari Vishnu's mayaa .....nothing is all good or all bad : )

@sthitadebasis indrajit who defeated the devraj indra and even lord ram could n't face him. how can you say that he is inferior to other greatest archers? only laxman could face him because of his twelve years absolute celibacy who had power as equivalent to the great sage.

It's just Lord ram who Himself got himself defeated... Just all the facts that Laxman had came in the consequence.. As far as being a warier is concerned, Indrajit is nowhere in front of the likes of Bhism, Karna and Arjun dear... he just possessed some special prowess, that hardly qualifies him...

@sthitadebasis i do n't deny your comment about bhisma, karna, arjun they are all valiant warriors,but you canot underestimate the power of the greatest warrior of lanka indrajit. he defeated ram and laxman twice ,i think u know that. he had also the boon of lord brahma that if he performs the ritual or yajna before the war no one can vanquish him whether he may be vishnu, shiva or brahma himself.
@joyelpetra1 dear, indrajit defeating both ram and laxman has a little warier part involved in it rather than a lot destined part ... indrajit was not a professional warier, never practised them from childhood, never went for a professional course.. what he, ravan etc had with them was the boobs of a no of gods, and the weapons of a no of gods which they got in their tapashya... but, they were not skilled war professionals like Vism, Karna or Arjun dear.. that's why we can not take them .

@joyelpetra dude bheeshma was the strongest bheeshma had access to weapons not even indrajit had. His true power could have been shown in those five arrows he gave to Duryodhana unfortunately those arrows were taken by Arjuna because Arjuna saved duryodhana in the woods one day and duryodhana was obliged to give Arjuna the arrows. In those 5 arrows were the true power of Bhisma aka Devavrata. It's only unfortunate that people never got to witness that power.
@joyelpetra Bheeshma is the grandsire. Bheeshma alone was enough to conquer the whole of Pandavas. I think you got the whole listwrong. I don't think its right to categorise Gods and their Archery powers. You cannot compare two Gods who haven't even fought against each other.
@buntydagame actually karna was a better archarar then arjun but because of sage purushram's curse he could not defeat arjun, Arjun was guru Drona's best pupil. Also Arjun only defeated bheeshma because Ambalika was standing next to him on the chariot and he could not attack.

ONly bheeshma and karna went to heaven straight after war every one else went to hel all other warriora including Pandavas It prooves that though Arjuna was fighting at side of good but he was no where close to Karna about good deeds Moreover karna got everything he demanded after losing the war it meas Karna was the real winner
none pandavas went to hell, it was trick and test for yudhister where he was shown that his entire family was in hell, but he was given choice either to go to heaven alone or go to family in hell, he chose hell, being the self sacrifice, they all were rewarded seventh heaven. i.e. the actual fate of pandavas i.e. were they went was not actually decided uptil the death of yudhister as he died last.
Arjuna killed his maternal brother Karna, another formidable warrior who was fighting in aid of the Kauravas against the Pandavas, not realizing their relationship !!!!!
Karna, Ekalavya & Ashwatthama.. Hate to say it but these warriors were a level above Arjun, each in a unique way if not being more skilled than Arjun. Krishna himself feared Arjuns safety when battling karna, truly shows how formidable of an opponent he was. Ekalavya, dont even need to see anything about him. He was supposed to be the best in all the 3 worlds & ashwatthama, Drona had taught him so many divine asthras that were even unknown to Arjun.

Plz watch the Mahabharat again and you will know when and why they all said Arjun was the greatest warrier. Even Karna himself had praised Arjun's archery skills when he said at Draupadi's swayamvar that only Parshuram, Drona, Indra and Arjun can break his bow
@netajismart . dear karna and arjun both were equally good. you must know that day of mahabharat yudh when arjun has no answer of karna's Nag-Ashtra. arjun is saved by lord krishna only. otherwise tht day arjun would be killed by karna. After mahabharata arjun too himself salute karna's archery and bravery when he came to know that his RATH is only survived by lord hanuman from karna's attack. Arjun was fighting with blessing of lord krishna, lord hanuman and lord indra;karna fought alone.
@ankleshwar1 Dear that's because Arjun decided not to use very destructive divine weapons in the war. If Arjun could kill deadly serpents of khandavban alone and offered the forest to Agni, he was very much capable of tackling any nagastra. But did Karna have anything to counter the likes of Pashupat astra had Arjun decided to fire? But still Arjun didn't use. And who asked Karna to accept Duryodhan's friendship and side with the evil? Were sut putras not living those days without any patron?
@netajismart actually some of the fact part is not shown in mahabharata tv serials. it is written in mahabharata epic book. Actually, parshuram had given tht deadliest nagastra to karna by saying that noone can defend or destroy this nagastra when u would use it. And other matter regarding pashu patastra of arjun;;; karna had its defense in form of vaishnav ashtra.
@ankleshwar1 One other thing also there which is not shown in tv serial. karna had two more deadliest weapon named SHAL and MOOSHAL given by lord surya by saying tht noone will defend these weapons. so lord krishna forced kunti to take back those weapons from karna and he gave it to his mother. So i am not saying tht arjun was not good warrior but karna and arjun both were equally good.
@netajismart yet he was a finer man than all the pandavs. He was denied all the love and care he deserved, after all it was he who was the first son of of Kunti. He was the son of a god yet remained unaware of it and was insulted by arjun who laughed on him for being the son of a charioteer. Karna gained all the knowledge with his own effort unlike arjun who had all the wealth at his disposal.
When Karan knew Arjun is his younger brother,he decided he wouldnot kill Arjun .He promised his Mom that after war her 5 sons will be alive .Karan knew he is supporting adharma but he wanted to help Duryodhan because Duryodhan supported and helped him during his identity asked by peoples.
I personally feel, Karna was a victim of circumstance. Very unfortunate.
The only reson Arjun won was because Shri Krishna choose him! That was it. Arjun was so arrogant Hanumanji had to destroy his arrogance. And on a number of occassions Arjun almost committed suicide due to his arrogance.
Of course Arjun was a great devotee but lets not making him into something he was not. Credit where it's due but don't underestimate Karna.
.......And Krishna simply said, you have Hanumanji's weight and my weight on your chariot, and despite this Karna is managing to move you back 1 mile. Imagine if mine of HAnumanji's weight was not on the charriot.
Karna the Jesht or first Kunti putra was more powerful than all of them put together. It is said that in the battle of kuruklshetra when Karnas arrows were fired, Arjun's Chariot was pushed back 1 mile and when Arjun fired his arrows, Karna's charriot was pushed back 2 miles. Despite this Krishna kept giving Karna aashirvaad. So Arjun asked Krishna, why do you keep giving Karna aashirvaad?

After this no other strong warrior was left in Kaurav army to help Dpuryodhan in winning the war. The left warriors were Shakuni, Kripacharya, Ashwathama, Kritwarma. Shakuni was Killed by Sahadev. Next day Bhima beats Duryodhan.
There are many versions. According to one of them, Karna didnt die for the goddess of righteousness protected him. Shri Krishna then went to Karna disguised as an old woman and asked him for some alps to which Karna replied that the only thing left is his life and that he can happily give. However, the old woman said that this wont help her in attaining heaven and she asked Karna to give her his righteousness. Karna did the same and it was then that he was killed by Arjun.
then kunti was found crying in front of his dead body in the evening . then all pandavas came to know the reality that karna was their brother and yudhistir gave curse to whole women generation that they can't keep anything in their stomach.
It was a just act on the part of Sri Arjun. He was simply abiding by the order of the Supreme Lord. Who can know more about what is just and what is not just, more than the Lord Krishna Himself. Karna feeling indebted to Duryodhana chose to be on the side of wicked Duryodhan. That's when Karna lost all the rights to be treated justly.

Bhima did not cause Duryodhan to hate the Pandavas - that Duryodhan did from day 1. In fact, reason Duryodhan cheered Karna was that Karna took away Arjun's specialty & uniqueness in that tournament. But had Kunti spoken up and claimed that Karna was her eldest son, and ordered YBANS to do charansparsh, Duryodhan wouldn NOT have suddenly made Karna his friend, and Arjun would have respected Karna the way Lakshman respected Rama.
When Arjuna heard of his son Abhimanyu's death, what did he do? Did he just simply sit on the battlefield in a yoga posture? No, he decided to kill the cause of Abhimanyu's death in 1 day.
Dronacharya did fight on for some more time after hearing of Ashvattama's death, exterminating 100000 warriors. But, I do not fight a reason on why he should give up his life in a trance of mystic yoga (as given in the book).
Dhrishtadyumna is a sinful wretch because of this act.

Yep, Drona was a loser for giving up his weapons on hearing of Ashwatthama's death. As you point out, nobody else who lost their sons did it - not Arjun, not Bhima, not Dhristadyumna himself, not Satyaki, not Virata, not Drupad, and nobody on the Kaurava side either. I hate it that Drona is revered to this day as a model guru

It took Yudhisthira to send down Bhima & Arjun to bail out the shameless Kauravas.
But one thing you're really right about is Arjun DID always have Lord Krishna's grace, something without which life is an empty void.

Please refer to the texts when you comment otherwise it makes no sense, right? This "lucky" Arjun was the one who in the garb of Brihannala SINGLEHANDEDLY decimated the entire Kaurava army consisting of Bheeshma, Drona, Karna, Kripa, Ashwaththhama, Duryodhana, Dushshasan et al when they were pilfering the cattle of the Matsya kingdom (ref. Virat Parva).
The simple fact that Arjuna was never defeated by anybody throughout his life is sufficient evidence for me to take Arjuna as my inspiration for how to succeed in general.
Karna is a brave warrior, one of the greatest warriors of his era.Even if somebody proves that Karna is a more skilled than Arjuna, I really don't care. I will still go for SUCCESS rather than just being a better warrior and STILL not succeed because of my own fate.
And, I request fellow YouTubers not to remind me of day 16 fight between Arjuna and Karna shown in this TV series. That never happened according to the book. Karna never spared Arjuna's life. I believe he has done his LEVEL best to get rid of Arjun and prove himself but he could not SUCCEED in KILLING Arjun.
P.S> I don't want to hear about LUCKY Arjun again. According to me, NO PERSON can be CONSISTENTLY be LUCKY. It is Arjuna's persona & dharma which won him everybody's love and SUCCESS!!!
maybe you are correct.. Arjun was not lucky.. he had his dharma and God's blessings with him.. but as far as pure warier skills are concerned, Karna was better than him.. it's a well known fact to many..
It is very probable that Karna was a better warrior than Arjuna over all, although I would saying somebody better than other is not that Black & White when they are very good and close to be compared.

Arjun did break the rule of not harming anyone not on his rath because Karn had also broken the rules when seven warriors fought the teenage Abhimanyu.
Kavach kundal and everythign else he had while he faced gandharv in forest while pandav were living there and duryodhan went there to rub his royal lifestyle in their face.. Karna ran away and duryoadhan was taken as prisoner.. again arjun came to rescue.. again viratnagar war he had everything still cud not do jack.. if you are referring to the book by Maharshi Vyasha Dev, then you should know that, it's not even the pure and sole story telling book that told of all these things.. many sources are followed in this serial. in different regions of india, mahabharat has its own version.. how can you say that Arjuna was better than Karna ? Can you show me some proof that anyone at that time admitted that? Even Krishna knew that Karna was a better warrior than Arjun, He time and again had cited this indirectly..

There is no way Karna was a better archer than Arjun. He was defeated bcoz he was fighting for Adharma. Remember Lord Krishna took Arjun's side not bcoz he was a gr8 warrior but bcoz he was fighting for Dharma. Lord Krishna wld have helped Karna in every possible way if he was fighting for justice. Just bcoz someone is ur frnd you cannot be supporting him if he stooped to the level of insulting a woman in a manner what Kauravas did.
And Karna wasnt ill fated but he had all the unfair advantages - 1) With his Kawach & Kundal on no Shastra or Astra cld harm him 2)He cannot be defeated if he is on his chariot. Now the whole Mahabharata is based on high morality. I think at a personal level, if a person is discarded, I don't think the story does enough justice from a human nature point of a view.
Parashuram taught the art of divine weapons and archery to Bheeshma and Drona. Arjuna was but a student of Drona whereas Karna was taught by Parashuram himself so one can imagine that he would have equalled to Bheeshma and Drona when compared with skill. It's also said Arjun found it difficult to defeat Karna since he was beyond Arjun's level. Should I say more =p So I would say if it wasn't for Krishna's game of deceit, Karna would have changed the tide of victory for the Kauravas.
The chariot moving story is fake. It is additional folklore and has no origin in the Puranas and Vyasa's MB

Karna didnt lost in the fair fight! Arjuna used the type of arrows that causes the enemy to faint...these arrows arent meant for an honorable fight.
In fight with Gandharvas, Karna asked everyone to retreat cause he could see that Duryodhan would be in danger cause of sheer numbers. Karna's life was never in danger.
Even Lord Krishna acknowledged the fact that even without his kavach and kundal Karna was better than Arjuna. Infact he considered him second only to himself.

How can Arjuna defeat Karna when he cant even put a scratch on him? Arjuna wasnt even able to defeat Karna during war at Kurukshetra..and multiple times Lord Krishna saved Arjuna. Even in the last match between them, during the fight Lord Krishna complimented Karna!

@nikgokuhil I have read the Mahabharata in good detail. They had taken a vast army with them. Karna did escape from there inspite of being accompanied in large nos as he was defeated by Gandharvas. Arjun did defeat Karna in the Virat war twice. And its not multiple times but once did Krishna save Arjun. Karna was defeated by Abhimanyu too. Karna too could not defeat Arjun.
Karna himself praised Arjun. Krishna too had praised Karna but at Arjun too.

And how in the hell can Karna be defeated when nothing that Arjuna can throw at him would work! Karna might as well be sitting and drinking coffee while Arjuna can keep throwing arrows after arrows at him. From what I've read Arjuna used those arrows which cause the enemy to faint! And apart from what you are counting, Lord Krishna made Ghatotkach get in the way when Arjuna was..

The Virat war raged for very long. Arjun did not use that magic arrow at the first place but only after injuring all of them. A fierce war between him and Ashwathama and also the others. Karna was defeated by Abhimanyu in Kurukshetra. Bhishma was the greatest who defeated his own guru Parshurama in a war who was himself peerless. Karna was no doubt very great and brave but was lost by Drupad in his first war whom Arjuna defeated only accomapnied with 4 brothers.

If it would've been so easy to defeat kauravs..whole war of Kurukshetra would've been over in a day. Also, Karna only retreated once for Duryodhan's safety, defeated once by Abhimanyu, fainted once from Yudhisthir's arrow (lucky shot, also Yudhisthir retreated at full speed after it), and had multiple draws with Arjuna. There is no record of karna loosing other than that. Bheesma I believe should've been greatest, but Lord Krishna gave that praise to Karna for some reason

Karna was proud of Arjuna in the end, and Krishna praised Arjuna a lot..but when he asked why Krishna was praising karna, Lord Krishna explained his superiority.
I acknowledge Abhimanyu! He was the man! For Bheesma, its still doubtful! he certainly was able..but Lord Krishna acknowledged Karna above all of them!
And Dronacharya was quite wise..but ability wise he couldnt compare to Karna

Regarding Ghatotkach and Naag astra, I know that.
But it was for safety against the Naag astra and not Karna. Arjuna had many divine weapons obtained from Lord Shiva, many celestial gods and from his 5 yrs stay in heaven. But he still did not use them in the war for the safety of the world and also he did not want the future to say that " it was not he but the divine weapons lead him to victory". Karna on the other hand depended on Nag astra and Brahmastra in the end to kill Arjuna.

You may not be knowing that after Draupadi's swayamwar, when Arjuna won the competition, mnay Kshatriyas incl Duryodhan came to attack Arjuna. When Karna was about to aim his arrow, Arjuna sent his arrow and broke Karna's bow. Karna said that besides Parshurama and Drona, no one else could do this. Saying this he bowed to Arjuna and left the place.

And during Draupadi's swayamwar, 4 pandavs handled rest of them and no one dared to interfere with Karna and Arjuna. They finished about all of the arrows available in that kingdom, in the end Lord Krishna stopped them cause by one stray arrow from Arjuna, Karna's eldest son died. That's when Karna vowed to kill Arjuna. Karna's bow called Vijaya remained intact till the end.

@nikgokuhil Let me explain in detail. Gandharvas had captured Duryodhan and Dushasan and flew heavenward. The latter's wives came pleading to the Pandavas. Yudhistira ordered Bhima and Arjun to rescue them. Arjun shot the Antardhan astra which brought their chariot down and with Bhima fought and defeated them. They were successful in rescuing the 2 brothers. What Karna doing at that time?

Actualy they went into the forest looking for pandavs..When Karna realised that Duryodhan was not with them, he headed back to get him back, but by that time Arjuna and Bheema had already rescued him under Yudhisthir's orders. And Karna only wanted divine weapons cause Arjuna also collected them. Arjuna used such weapons not only in fight against Karna but in many other ones too. Virat war happened and was over on last day of Agyatwas.

@nikgokuhil In the Virat war, Arjun didn't use the magical weapon in the first place itself. He defeated all those great maharathis first. There is a detailed info about this war. Karna was defeated twice. There was a bitter war between Arjuna and Ashwatthama in which the latter lost followed by Bhishma, Drona, Kripa, Duryo, Dushasan etc... The war raged for long. Only after all were injured then Arjun shot the magic arrow. Karna had is kavach-kundal that time. Arjun was unsupported.

In a way karna was almost a compliment to Krishna (however no one can come even close to Krishna). And all the fights during main mahabharat war, Arjuna survived multiple times cause of divine intervention. Also the fact that it was not even fair on karna! Arjuna freely shot at him and his chairoteer, but Karna knew he was shooting at his brother and he never sent an arrow towards Lord Krisnha even by mistake.

Arjun didn't even have Lord Krishna with him.
In the war of Virat, Arjun defeated Karna twice. This time too he had his Kavach and Kundal.

I remember a few years back i used to watch this when it came on because it was so horribly bad that it was so funny, i remember one part that sticks out in my memory they all came riding up in like 15 ft tall pimped out chariots and calmly talked to each other while they fired arrows at each other for about 40 minutes i was balling the whole time i just couldnt stop laughing!

Karna was not as great as i use to think.... He was escapist.... First of all he tried to ignore that his chariots one of the wheel entered a pit and tried to continue the war... he even blamed Arjuna for his chariots debacle... You do know that things have been edited in the series! Karna kept fighting even when he got off the chariot. He let go of his bow when Arjuna fainted cause of his arrow. When Lord Krishna revived Arjuna and he pointed an arrow towards Karna that is when karna reminded him of rules. Also when Krishna called him Sootputra and all that, he just smiled and accepted death cause of mutual love and understanding bet'n Lord Krishna and himself

karna was actually exactly equal to arjun, or else krishna wouldn't have taken the path of treachery to kill him. When karna's chariot wheel got stuck in the mud, Arjun as a brave warrior wanted to wait till karna takes out his wheels, but krishna forced him to kill him instantly without waiting, as he knew that Arjun will not be able to kill him fairly.

Brothers, Danveer Karna was the best warrior his luck was never with him from his birth..... he promised his mother that he would never kill any of his brothers even though his father Suryadev warned him about Indra he gave away his protective kavach to honor a brahmin. Parsurama though being a partial Avatara of Vishnu did not know the truth about his birth ...so many obstacles and setbacks not a smooth life at all but it's all Sri Hari Vishnu's mayaa .....nothing is all good or all bad : )

It's just Lord ram who Himself got himself defeated... Just all the facts that Laxman had came in the consequence.. @joyelpetra1 dear, indrajit defeating both ram and laxman has a little warier part involved in it rather than a lot destined part ... indrajit was not a professional warier, never practised them from childhood, never went for a professional course.. what he, ravan etc had with them was the boobs of a no of gods, and the weapons of a no of gods which they got in their tapashya... but, they were not skilled war professionals like Vism, Karna or Arjun dear.. that's why we can not take them .

@joyelpetra dude bheeshma was the strongest bheeshma had access to weapons not even indrajit had. His true power could have been shown in those five arrows he gave to Duryodhana unfortunately those arrows were taken by Arjuna because Arjuna saved duryodhana in the woods one day and duryodhana was obliged to give Arjuna the arrows. In those 5 arrows were the true power of Bhisma aka Devavrata. It's only unfortunate that people never got to witness that power.

none pandavas went to hell, it was trick and test for yudhister where he was shown that his entire family was in hell, but he was given choice either to go to heaven alone or go to family in hell, he chose hell, being the self sacrifice, they all were rewarded seventh heaven. i.e. the actual fate of pandavas i.e. were they went was not actually decided uptil the death of yudhister as he died last.

Karna, Ekalavya & Ashwatthama.. Hate to say it but these warriors were a level above Arjun, each in a unique way if not being more skilled than Arjun. Krishna himself feared Arjuns safety when battling karna, truly shows how formidable of an opponent he was. Ekalavya, dont even need to see anything about him. He was supposed to be the best in all the 3 worlds & ashwatthama, Drona had taught him so many divine asthras that were even unknown to Arjun.

Plz watch the Mahabharat again and you will know when and why they all said Arjun was the greatest warrier. Even Karna himself had praised Arjun's archery skills when he said at Draupadi's swayamvar that only Parshuram, Drona, Indra and Arjun can break his bow

@netajismart . dear karna and arjun both were equally good. you must know that day of mahabharat yudh when arjun has no answer of karna's Nag-Ashtra. arjun is saved by lord krishna only. otherwise tht day arjun would be killed by karna. After mahabharata arjun too himself salute karna's archery and bravery when he came to know that his RATH is only survived by lord hanuman from karna's attack. Arjun was fighting with blessing of lord krishna, lord hanuman and lord indra;karna fought alone.

If Arjun could kill deadly serpents of khandavban alone and offered the forest to Agni, he was very much capable of tackling any nagastra. But did Karna have anything to counter the likes of Pashupat astra had Arjun decided to fire? But still Arjun didn't use. And who asked Karna to accept Duryodhan's friendship and side with the evil? Actually, parshuram had given tht deadliest nagastra to karna by saying that noone can defend or destroy this nagastra when u would use it. And other matter regarding pashu patastra of arjun;;; karna had its defense in form of vaishnav ashtra.

He was the son of a god yet remained unaware of it and was insulted by arjun who laughed on him for being the son of a charioteer. I personally feel, Karna was a victim of circumstance. Very unfortunate.
The only reson Arjun won was because Shri Krishna choose him! That was it. Arjun was so arrogant Hanumanji had to destroy his arrogance. And on a number of occassions Arjun almost committed suicide due to his arrogance.
Of course Arjun was a great devotee but lets not making him into something he was not. Credit where it's due but don't underestimate Karna.

Karna the Jesht or first Kunti putra was more powerful than all of them put together. It is said that in the battle of kuruklshetra when Karnas arrows were fired, Arjun's Chariot was pushed back 1 mile and when Arjun fired his arrows, Karna's charriot was pushed back 2 miles. Despite this Krishna kept giving Karna aashirvaad. So Arjun asked Krishna, why do you keep giving Karna aashirvaad?

1. Karna was Surya dev's son! Krishna taught the Gitaji to Surya first.
2. Karna spared all four brothers
3. Karna was cheated out of his armour by Indra who's son was Arjun.
4. Karna was the student of Parshuraam (Shri Krishna himself) so how can you compare Arjun and Karna?
5. Karna was known as Daanveer! What was Arjun ever known as? Kunti even asked Karna for forgiveness & to promise him not to kill her sons.

There are many versions. According to one of them, Karna didnt die for the goddess of righteousness protected him. Shri Krishna then went to Karna disguised as an old woman and asked him for some alps to which Karna replied that the only thing left is his life and that he can happily give. However, the old woman said that this wont help her in attaining heaven and she asked Karna to give her his righteousness. Karna did the same and it was then that he was killed by Arjun.

It was a just act on the part of Sri Arjun. He was simply abiding by the order of the Supreme Lord. Who can know more about what is just and what is not just, more than the Lord Krishna Himself. Karna feeling indebted to Duryodhana chose to be on the side of wicked Duryodhan. That's when Karna lost all the rights to be treated justly.

You can look at it in various ways.
During Draupadi's swayamvara, Karna's son Sudaman was killed by Arjun and thus Karna has vowed to afflict same misery on Arjun.
Secondly, Karna was just following the commands of the Chief, Dronacharya (who had organized the vyuh)

Bhima did not cause Duryodhan to hate the Pandavas - that Duryodhan did from day 1. In fact, reason Duryodhan cheered Karna was that Karna took away Arjun's specialty & uniqueness in that tournament. But had Kunti spoken up and claimed that Karna was her eldest son, and ordered YBANS to do charansparsh, Duryodhan wouldn NOT have suddenly made Karna his friend, and Arjun would have respected Karna the way Lakshman respected Rama.

When Arjuna heard of his son Abhimanyu's death, what did he do? Did he just simply sit on the battlefield in a yoga posture? No, he decided to kill the cause of Abhimanyu's death in 1 day.
Dronacharya did fight on for some more time after hearing of Ashvattama's death, exterminating 100000 warriors. But, I do not fight a reason on why he should give up his life in a trance of mystic yoga (as given in the book).
Dhrishtadyumna is a sinful wretch because of this act.

Dhristadhyumna was not a sinful wretch that he killed Drona, since he was born from fire to kill him.

Yep, Drona was a loser for giving up his weapons on hearing of Ashwatthama's death. As you point out, nobody else who lost their sons did it - not Arjun, not Bhima, not Dhristadyumna himself, not Satyaki, not Virata, not Drupad, and nobody on the Kaurava side either. I hate it that Drona is revered to this day as a model guru

so many people have posted comments on my point of view towards mahabharat.I have seen it innumerable times...some people find my views insensible...so be it.....lets be practical....arjun was on dharma side...so he was victorious...had he not lord krishna with him...he was a needle before karna...take up ur point of views to urselves.....all accepted....this epic is common for all hindus...karna suffered his fate..thats the ultimate truth...insulting a lady is catastrophic...

yes, yes, so Arjun "was a needle before Karna"... I suppose that's why during the Virat-kingdom cattle raid, Arjun, dressed as Vrihannala and with only the kid Uttar as charioteer, actually DECIMATED the entire Kaurava army consisting of Bhishma, Drona, Kripa, Ashwathhama, Duryodhan, Dushshasana, AND your priceless Karna (Virat Parva, Mahabharata). Everyone on the Kaurava side fainted except the truly great Bhishma Pitamaha.
My friend, you seem to have a truly SOUND sense of logic.

And during the exile of the Pandavas, when the Kauravas had gone to the forest to gloat over their plight, remember that they got into a fight with Chitrasen & the Gandharvas, were routed by them & captured together with their womenfolk? This GREAT Karna had beat a retreat then.
It took Yudhisthira to send down Bhima & Arjun to bail out the shameless Kauravas.
But one thing you're really right about is Arjun DID always have Lord Krishna's grace, something without which life is an empty void.

arjun was gifted,karna was ill fated.Arjun had krishna himself.karna was alone,not even his mother Kunti was on his side.What is he supposed to do.Ganga putra bheeshma,drona and karna are undefeatable and are best warriors,THAN arjun.He was just lucky.Karna was better archer

Please refer to the texts when you comment otherwise it makes no sense, right? This "lucky" Arjun was the one who in the garb of Brihannala SINGLEHANDEDLY decimated the entire Kaurava army consisting of Bheeshma, Drona, Karna, Kripa, Ashwaththhama, Duryodhana, Dushshasan et al when they were pilfering the cattle of the Matsya kingdom (ref. Virat Parva).

The simple fact that Arjuna was never defeated by anybody throughout his life is sufficient evidence for me to take Arjuna as my inspiration for how to succeed in general.
Karna is a brave warrior, one of the greatest warriors of his era.Even if somebody proves that Karna is a more skilled than Arjuna, I really don't care. I will still go for SUCCESS rather than just being a better warrior and STILL not succeed because of my own fate.

And, I request fellow YouTubers not to remind me of day 16 fight between Arjuna and Karna shown in this TV series. That never happened according to the book. Karna never spared Arjuna's life. I believe he has done his LEVEL best to get rid of Arjun and prove himself but he could not SUCCEED in KILLING Arjun.
P.S> I don't want to hear about LUCKY Arjun again. According to me, NO PERSON can be CONSISTENTLY be LUCKY. It is Arjuna's persona & dharma which won him everybody's love and SUCCESS!!!

maybe you are correct.. Arjun was not lucky.. he had his dharma and God's blessings with him.. but as far as pure warier skills are concerned, Karna was better than him.. it's a well known fact to many..

It is very probable that Karna was a better warrior than Arjuna over all, although I would saying somebody better than other is not that Black & White when they are very good and close to be compared.
My only point was to represent against somebody who kind of made a blasphemous statement saying 'Arjuna is far lower than karna' which is extremely disagreeable. I don't care what others think but I just made my point nevertheless.

I also disagree with the fellow, if he had made a rubbish statement like "Arjun is far lower than Karna" dude !! Both of them were the mostly celebrated and observed wariers at that point of time, even by the Lord Sri Krishna Himself !! Both were each other's arc rivals. Arjun was anyway with his Dharma, his well doings, the blessings of elders and the Destiny Krishna with himself, not because of Luck, because of his great deeds. Fact is Arjuna was fighting without all his divya weapons otherwise he was alone capable of vanquishing all kaurava we saw that in Viratnagar war.. whole kaurav sena was defated alone by Arjuna.. this sympathy for karna is your classic sympathy for the underdog

u r wrong,look at the character of karan, he was the best and no way arjun was near him,dont forget that pakhandi indra askd him for his kavach &kundals othrwise, pandvas would'nt be able to win the battle.and dont forget that karan spare arjuns life at surya ast obeying the rules of war and that coward arjun killed him when he was not on his rath, remember 1 thing more, krishna was realy happy when karan used shakti astra on gatotkach, bcauz if he had used it on arjun he would had surly died

Arjun did break the rule of not harming anyone not on his rath because Karn had also broken the rules when seven warriors fought the teenage Abhimanyu.

Kavach kundal and everythign else he had while he faced gandharv in forest while pandav were living there and duryodhan went there to rub his royal lifestyle in their face.. Karna ran away and duryoadhan was taken as prisoner.. again arjun came to rescue.. again viratnagar war he had everything still cud not do jack.. He was potty mouth too given the way he talked abotu draupadi while she was being disrobed..

No arjun was not coward actully he dose not know abt the karan who he is otherwise he not going to kill him but krishana knows all abt the karan-kunti and the hate of karan against arjun so why he force arjun to kill karan bcoz karan is the grate warrior then the arjun and if arjun dont's then surely arjun will dead at end of day whatever he dose not ware the kavach and kundels arjun have no any arm to kill karan krishana knows this

if you are referring to the book by Maharshi Vyasha Dev, then you should know that, it's not even the pure and sole story telling book that told of all these things.. many sources are followed in this serial. in different regions of india, mahabharat has its own version.. how can you say that Arjuna was better than Karna ? Can you show me some proof that anyone at that time admitted that? Even Krishna knew that Karna was a better warrior than Arjun, He time and again had cited this indirectly..

All the characters were selected perfectly.I think karna is more popular than arjun and a better warrior than him.I doubt that he would have insulted draupadi,as he was against the game of 'chauser'.But since it has been shown,I believe its true.Divya janmi draupadi is definitely sati and pure,BUT she has No right to insult,Karna.Ok,she just revealed who he is,a charioteer's son,but calling Duryodhan a blind man's son was a mistake. Draupadi vastrharan was a ahame,yet i dont feel sorry for her

jsrini7,A God can never Deceit any1,remember Lord Krishna said that Karna didnt follow the rules n some other things n stuff like that in this episode n besides Karna was also involved in the game of deceit against Abhimanyu,thats why Arjun wanted to kill Jaidrath n Karna but if Karna had followed the rules n been pure at heart,Lord Krishna being a God wouldn`t have done injustice with any1 not even Karna,Krishna himself would have told Arjun to fight fair but I respect Karna n ur opinion too..

There is no way Karna was a better archer than Arjun. He was defeated bcoz he was fighting for Adharma. Remember Lord Krishna took Arjun's side not bcoz he was a gr8 warrior but bcoz he was fighting for Dharma. Lord Krishna wld have helped Karna in every possible way if he was fighting for justice. Just bcoz someone is ur frnd you cannot be supporting him if he stooped to the level of insulting a woman in a manner what Kauravas did.

And Karna wasnt ill fated but he had all the unfair advantages - 1) With his Kawach & Kundal on no Shastra or Astra cld harm him 2)He cannot be defeated if he is on his chariot. These things show that he did not have qualities but only unfair advantages which Arjun didnt have. And wen Lord Krishna said "When did Karna follow the rules of Dharma wen he along with others Killed Abhimanyu" is an apt example which shows Karna was not a saint. Arjun was a true warrior 1000 times better than Karna.

I would have agreed with you, except that karna granted Arjun a life, the previous day.
You should, watch, the previous day's war.
Now the whole Mahabharata is based on high morality. I think at a personal level, if a person is discarded, I don't think the story does enough justice from a human nature point of a view.

Parashuram taught the art of divine weapons and archery to Bheeshma and Drona. Arjuna was but a student of Drona whereas Karna was taught by Parashuram himself so one can imagine that he would have equalled to Bheeshma and Drona when compared with skill. It's also said Arjun found it difficult to defeat Karna since he was beyond Arjun's level. Should I say more =p So I would say if it wasn't for Krishna's game of deceit, Karna would have changed the tide of victory for the Kauravas.

Thats not correct!!!! Karna actually gave Arjuna a life a day before his death. Krishna also saved Arjun once, when he lowered the chariot.
