  • Bee-youtiful eyes to go with the voice!

  • So lovely,so nice,so not now

  • I LOOOOOOOVE THIS SONG

  • This song takes me back to 4th grade... 1997!!!

  • I like this video and song. I find it a bit disorienting though.

  • I wish they would not have retired, but Hollyweird and the music industry is just a bunch of slimy materialistic jerk offs that suck people dry and damage art more than helping it in many ways.

  • fcken great band love the Sunday

  • No one likes you VEVO.

  • 5 people are caught in WINTER...

  • This song makes me think of the 1970s...and I wasn't alive then

  • One of my all time favorite bands....missing Harriet...absolutely gorgeous to listen to....and easy on the eyes (to say the least)....great music....no sampling, no ripping off someone elses music...straight originality.

  • Wheeler is beautiful!!!

  • I loved Static & Silence so much, as well their other records. But S&S is my favorite album of theirs, and it pained me that they quit making music right after releasing that masterpiece. Harriet is just so enchanting, and her husband is one of the most underrated guitarists ever. Great stuff that has stood the test of time.

  • Man if u were watching Dave then u missed the best part! LOL

  • Great song, but the guitar player constantly swaying like a crackhead is rather disturbing...

  • pretty blue eyes <3

  • hunt me down and shoot me

  • did i just thank vevo?

  • man did i forget about this song. love this shit. thnx 4 the ul

  • Reminds me of late summer nights, driving with my dad, the sunroof open, bare feet, eating bubblegum ice cream in the backseat.

Still in my top 5 songs I listen to 14 years later : )

  • i cry everytime i hear this song...and im a 11 year old boy...who isnt gay...but has good taste in music

  • Great song, I remember this song in high school and regarding todays music mainstream comments; its ashame that so much out there is not talent like "Bieber" or Jennifer Lopez please gimme a break! As for Gaga, she's a talented young passionate artist who is sometimes misunderstood ;)

  • i love her voice, so beautiful

  • Harriet is such a lovely, talented woman!

  • Was just listening to Yes Alexander and it reminded me of the Sundays. Such a good song!

  • One of my favorite songs of all times:)..."Have I read 2much fiction? Is this how it happen???"

  • Just love this band.

  • very fortunate to see them during the RW&A tour in 1992. I was attending FSU at the time and the concert was free to college students. You dont see that nowadays in this economy which is kind of sad. Anyway I loved them in highschool and when the opportunity came to see them live and free no less I jumped at the chance. So glad I did they were great live! Harriet's voice is just as beautiful in the live setting

  • She is a doll.. Love this song!

  • the comments here are laughable. thanx for the laugh youtube :D

  • at fault? What did YOU add to your generation, DanielJoseDiego? Because I feel like you just rode the wave and probably can't take credit for contributing to an "open minded" generation that likes to pick on younger folk. I can kind of understand your frustrations with the lack of mainstream good music, but don't assume everyone born after 1990 is a Beiber fan.

  • @poany24 Thank you.

  • @poany24 Nailed it

  • I resent all of the comments about people born after 1990.. I'm here enjoying good music, aren't I? Why should I be picked on for the lack of talent nowadays? I'm unfortunately incapable of contributing any talent to the music industry, but I can certainly still identify good music (past and present). There are still plenty of talented artists nowadays, they just don't tend to be mainstream from what I've seen. If my generation is a failure on the whole, how can anyone be singled out as being

  • @poany24 "aren't i"?. how about "am i not" or "ain't i"

  • @poany24 I was born well before 1990, and I can assure this nonsense is old hat. My generation was handed the same nonsense. Worry about it not -- and don't make the same error when you're an oldy like me.

  • Comment removed

  • @poany24 I've seen plenty of new good bands, and am astounded by the talent that I have personally seen. I feel that we are not a failed generation. We are not the ones who control radioplay. That's under the control of people much older than us. Our generation;s great voices are playing in peoples basements, and we have to find them.

  • @poany24 well said friend. I must admit to being prejudicial when it comes to such unfair prejudging myself but you've forced me to be open minded in the future.. Thank you for enlightening me and rock on!

  • @poany24 how old are you, tweleve?

  • @poany24 I agree

  • Simply GREAT MUSIC! better than the horrible shit music today. its a joke!!

  • simple? LOL does it jerk your emotions and change what your thinking when yo listen to it? if yes then it's not at all simple.

  • I was in highschool when this came out I remember heading to myrtle beach listening to this and duncan sheik

  • shes so cute...sweet voice...pretty song...its the simplicity that makes this song good..if you dont get it you suck

  • Seriously, the kids nowadays (born after 1990) are the most narrow minded and musically ignorant EVER! They have no music to represent their shitty generation which has done NOTHING to leave it's mark in history, nothing innovative, nothing new, nothing they can call their own! It's like a huge mental lapse, a huge intellectual gap in the history of mankind. I still can believe they have the balls to criticize generations past.

  • @DanielJoseDiego WELL SAID!

  • wow...i didnt realize i'd offend sooo many of you kids out there..jeez.. okay..okay...if you were born after 1990, you can comment about this band. there....are we cool?? :) if all fairness, i had to put up with the likes of corey heart and the thompson twins..etc when i was growing up...doope! i am sure to offend some old farts like me...lol

  • @jacktala1 understand where you're coming from. once upon a time i worked at a low budget college radio station jamming little known smashing pumpkin songs on vinyl. it may sound late for vinyl but beleive it or not it wasn't quite dead yet in radio. in the past i've felt the same way as you like how on earth could anyone born at that same time be a true fan. what's funny though is that i grew up listening to zeppelin albums that pre-date my own existence. it lives a different life than we do.

  • I miss this band. They were so unique. Her voice was so relaxing. Too bad she and the guitar player got married and they quit music to be parents :-(

  • Yet another cool song and video ruined by an obnoxious advertisement.

  • My summer song ...

  • I had a girl friend...and this was our song. Because I said it was...and she agreed! although that girl is long gone. This song still has meaning to me...all these years later.

  • Favorite part is a 2:10.

  • So beautiful and touching it makes me weep.

  • Darn, Your eyes are beautiful Harriet!

  • This still sounds brand new!

  • okay! sorry if i offended some of you. my comment was for some moron who was taking a jab at my girl hariett and the sundays. of course...some one who was born after '90 can enjoy this band...unfortunately, besides for a few exceptions...the "2000's" was filled with a bunch of ass crap.

  • @jacktala1 all is forgiven...lol like i said i was born in 92 and i enoy classic indie,shoegaze,classic altrock

  • God nothing like falling to sleep to Harriett's voice

  • music has no age group

  • Does she not see the ladybug? ew

  • im sad i was born in 91 :( i missed out all of this

  • I walked down the aisle to this song at my wedding. :-D 8/29/08 Just listening to it gives me goosebumps! I think this is my favorite summer song. What a fabulously romantic tune!

  • Am I the only one who wishes that camera would revolve right under her dress? Harriett Wheeler is scrumptious!

  • 0:00 <<<<Repeat button.

  • I was surprised when I found out she is 48 now

  • That was so cute when Harriet knelt down, took a little drink of water, and resumed belting the sound out. Man, it really is a shame they didn't make more music.

  • Crushed that they didn't do more. One of the best shows I've seen (Boston).

  • This song makes me fall in love again with my wife, everytime I hear it. Thank you.

  • @witchman1 an it harm none, do as thou wilt! enjoy Your Life, don't worry too much about the next gen., they are on their own path. Just fall for your wife again and again!

  • ...as I turn my white skin red....

This part always makes me shiver and smile...and I'm a black guy.

  • @reivenlocke Lol... Same here.

  • @reivenlocke And I love when she says Chinese looking girlfriend and I'm Korean!!!

  • I remember this Song like it was yesterday, I used to hate this Song a lot because it first came out when I was 6 years old and in first grade back in 1997 and I would hear it every single day on MTV and it would get on My nerves because it was so annoying. just recently, a few weeks ago, I listened to the song for the first time in over, I guess, 13 years and I thought "You know, this Song is not that bad and in fact, I should've gave this Song a second chance when I was a Kid".

  • @Mr1991ladarius To be fair to yourself, the charm in the song is probably lost on a six-year-old.

  • @Golfhaus No not exactly, When I was 6 years old, I was into rock music and not Pop Music. I really haven't gotten into Pop music until I was in High School.

  • What a Hottie!

  • spillaspella...and when i was a kid everyone liked madonna and prince. i hated them..still do! the replacements, echo and the bunnymen, r.e.m..and the smithes..et al...were the bands i listened too. to this day i have yet to hear any band or person the matches them..maybe pete yorn. so you go back and put your back on ipod which i am sure its filled with gaga and beiber.

  • @spillaspella obviously YOU are the one who is spoon fed, if youre sticking up for the likes of beiber/gaga. l was commenting on some other idiots remark on this song. and just to entertain your remarks. there IS a ton of good stuff coming out now....arcade fire..silversun...just to name a couple

  • Comment removed

  • @jacktala1 so you say there IS a ton of good music coming out now. But you said nobody born after 1990 knows good music. So which is it? You are contradicting yourself because a lot of the people listening to new good music are under 21 years old. You're really coming off as ignorant.

  • I'd do Harriet.

  • @jacktala1

I WAS BORN IN 1992, and this is my FAV band. I think I heard them once when I was a child, and we somehow found each other in my teen years. Everything she sings is like memory to me, regardless.

  • @Solomonous i apologize to you. i just got a bit annoyed by some moron. good for you solo....get their first album..err...cd..

  • How I miss just nice music like this. I can't stand the music of today. Today's music everything has to be a statement or make a point,. The Sunday's just put ot beautiful nice music. Great to listen too. Brings me back to better times.

  • This song makes me happy.

  • if you born after 1990 dont bother to comment. you just dont get it. put on your beiber and gaga...with you iphone and shut the f....up.

  • @jacktala1 so trueeee !!!!!

  • @jacktala1 Im with on that but it should be if you graduated after 1990. then u dont know music.

  • @jacktala1 ingorant comment... every decade had frivolous music, from

Pat Boone, Bay City Rollers, Leif Garrett, New Kids on the Block etc...

if you think Beiber and Gaga are all there is to current music you

are obviously spoon fed from the machine and need to work a little harder...

  • @jacktala1 Ok well I was born in 91 and i listened to this all through the 90's because my parents did and love it, so get off your high horse. There are some of us young people who know good music.

  • @jacktala1 i was born in 92? and i like the sundays,70's rock and 90's rock smashing pumpkins, my bloody valentine,soundgarden,etc..whats your point..and what year were you born.

  • @jacktala1 I was born in '94 and I feel the need to let you know that not all young people are musically incompetent (Beiber and Gaga etc.).

    Just so you know.

  • @peteball31 i second this

  • @peteball31 they are definitely not musically incompetent, just not original and exciting. older people can tell they are just copies of stuff we have seen before. these two you named are industry products that are designed from the model originals.

  • @peteball31 reeeeeeeealllly that`s the 2 you came up with to represent music..............I`m not being mean but I have to laugh sorry...............

  • @darthbimmer45 I pretty sure that you've misunderstood.

  • @jacktala1 You're right, I don't get why this trash was ever popular, the same way I don't get why anything today is popular. I was born in 1993 and I'll put in my 'ipod' and listen to actual good music like The Who and keep away from this garbage like I've been doing. But just to counter your sweeping generalization of a generation: The 90's sucked.

  • @jacktala1 ,...i love it,....thank you for schooling theese, lil not now music hipster fucks

  • @jacktala1 sure

  • @jacktala1 born in 95, thankyou, this is the music I listen to, bieber and gaga are more of a shame to my generation of music, just like almost every artist out here right now

  • @jacktala1 i was born in 1992, but i can't stand bieber and gaga, but i love this band. do i still get a voice?

  • @chaosmage9 Of course you do...I was born in 1989 and I say yes lol. who cares your age.. if you are listening to this and other 90s songs then you have great taste in music!

  • O.K, So are you a gay male, a hatefull female, or just blind? Harriet is absolutely beautiful. I cant believe you dont see that.

  • She's quite ugly IMO. Her lyrics are stupid and random.

    But her voice: GODLIKE

And that makes all the difference.

  • My brain loves this woman.. She is beautiful... I like it when humans sing of promise and hope. I for one say yes..

  • I have never agreed with The Smiths comparisions.

  • '... the bubble floats so madly, will it stay shy high, hello partner, kiss your name bye-bye." Love it. Her voice is so sweet

  • Harriet still has a baby face ....so cute!! Great voice I love it!!

  • I love Harriet and Delores O'Riordan [Cranberries]& Sinead O'connor. These women are so damn cute and they can sing like angels !

  • Harriet........... will you marry me?

  • she's awesome. great song. really like this band.

  • she is an angel

  • When the camera goes360 you think you are gonna get a glimpse under her dress, then again she bends down and grabs the bottle of water, a little innuendo.

  • The mannequins create such haunting images.

  • OMG! I found it! I saw this video a few times in 1997 on MTV, always meaning to write down the name of the song and band but never doing so. All I could remember about the video is a girl in a short dress and the way the camera went up and over and back around. I held out hope that one day I would find it again and, many years later, I have! This is so great!

  • The verse part is actually pretty hard to play. It's E and A but not quite standard stuff.

David Gavurin is a master of texturing songs.

By the way, I made a tutorial on their other masterpiece When I'm thinking about you.

  • @SoilentGr33n Very much agreed... David is a very underrated guitarist.

  • If this lady sang directly to me, I think I'd blow a circuit and explode....but boy would I have a smile on my face.

  • @blackwerx

He is on crack. Harriet's crack.

  • @AugustusLarch LMAO

  • No one ese in the world can actually sing the words "...Chinese speaking girlfriend, with big brown eyes" and make them sound as sexy as she does....wow! :-)

  • This is such a beautiful song - the music, the vocal, and the lyrics are so complex - making fun of cliche romances and personal ads - yet maybe it's really love after all. An absolutely perfect pop moment from a great progressive band.

  • I miss the music of the 90's. While grunge ruled the planet bands like the Sundays kept it grounded and real. This is pure feel good music, nothing more and nothing less.

  • Quite the fetching lass...oh yes...she'll do very nicely.

  • haha great days on this....used to work at a restaurant on the beach in corpus christi during high school....they always used to play this song.....i always worked the patio that went right up to the water....PIER 99 totaly great days.....

  • Beautiful Sound, Great Band...very skilled, and an Angel and her voice that just sends me to a completely far away place. I KNOW Harriet is prettier than ANY woman currently working in films or music...I not only want her to have all my babies, but also put her in my pocket and take care of her and make her feel loved for the rest of her life! She is simply gorgeous!!!!

  • this song is awesome im a singer (kinda) :) and i love to sing this song

  • So sad to see these guys hang it up. They consistently produced some of the best Smiths-esque pop of the 1990s.

  • God! I wish they'd put out a new album already!

  • @JohnnyScientist

    FORIZZLE!

  • Simply Awesome!!!

  • you can not listen to this song and be in a bad mood at the same time. it is physically impossible.

  • I remember the first time seeing this video. Was already in love with her and her sweet voice, but then i SAW her, and was like, are you kidding me?! Beautiful eyes, sweet smile, simple beauty.

Does it get better than this?!

While Harriet was singing, my ear and penis were slow dancing to summertime.

  • why...why...why...why only 3:31???????????????

  • @wellingtondoi , feel you, we just dont have enough time with the sundays...

  • That woman could sing me the dictionary and I'd still be left sitting there droolin all over myself....heavenly voice...

  • oh Harriet I love you

  • 1:34 Harriet Wheeler looks at the ladybug on the Microphone

  • I like my life I like my job I like my car I like my bank I like waking up I don't have a pot belly but I love Harriet Wheeler way more than jobs or cars or flat abs.

  • this was I think there effort to break and make it into the pop mainstream, but it didn't just happen. 90's was grunge and depression not "you and me in the summertime, hand in hand down in the park." But very sweet. Doesn't hurt that Harriet is cute as hell!

  • @joenole2112 good analysis. There's only room for one style at the top at a time. Marketing 1, Imagination and diversity 0 (or nil for those in the UK).

  • She has one of the the sweetest voices ever, i could listen to this woman sing the phone book. No matter how bad my day is this song makes me feel better.

  • Comment removed

  • im happily addicted to this song

  • Smile Noah :)

  • I absolutely LOVE her voice!

  • Angelic voice!

  • this is how i get high...

  • I have a new Turing test - ask the subject how they feel about this song. If they gush over it, they're human. If not, they're a damn robot.

  • Just beautiful.

  • This song just replaced "Cruel Summer" by Banarama as my fav Summer song...sorry Siobhan and the other girls, but Harriet is just too damned cute!

  • I forgot how good this song is! =) Thanks for bringing back good memories.

  • god this band such a guilty pleasure... also one of the most beautiful girl fronts ever..just a good ol happy band

  • love it!

  • beautiful voice + beautiful girl = perfect!

  • What moron made the marketing blunder not to have Harriet's picture on their albums? She's a real cutie. She has a pretty voice too.

  • damn, that's the luckiest microphone in the world

  • I haven't heard this song since the tenth grade.I kind of miss hearing it.

  • I never heard the Sundays before an angel sent me the pure sweetness of this song. This song has it all, happiness, joyfulness, and free spirited.

  • Amazing band. They are long overdue for a return.

And 1:29 caused my heart to stop.

  • this song is so smooth and happy and fun...unlike real life. Nice escsape from reality, thanks Sundays!

  • Harriet has a kind of effortless singing style that is very appealing. And she is extremely HOT!!

  • @ftsjr WTF?!?! Her voice is beautiful but the lady has a plain face. You are deluded, my friend.

  • @MIvarsson99 I disagree. I know it's a matter of personal taste, but I find her very attractive, especially in this video. With her blue/grey eyes, shapely, petite figure, the short dress, flip flops, and just the right amount of make-up, she shines with a "natural" beauty.
