He is probably the best Harmona nawaz at the present time. His composing and Harmona (baaja) skills earned him the name "Master". He started to sing fearly recently compared to his long history of composing. The way our society treats musicians it is very hard to make living only by composing and not singing. Anyway his is a great asset for all Pashtuns.

He is from Afghanistan. Of course he has grown up in Peshawar, and also started his music career in Peshawar. I have heard he is from Konarr, but his accent (dialect) indicates he speaks Nangarhari Pashto spoken around the Jalalabad area. Two famous Afghan musicians, Farzana and Master Ali Haider who started their music career in the early 80s called themselves Pakistani. At that time there were many good reasons for them to call themselves Pakistanis and not Afghans.
