Actually, my introductory level American Government text dedicates two whole pages to this exact topic. In June of 2002, Bush made a speech at West Point Military Academy and set forth his new strategic policy for dealing with terrorism. He deemed Cold War policy (containment/deterrence) inadequate and declared a NEW doctrine of preemption. Look it up before commenting.

After looking at the book again, I noticed that there is actually only one and a half pages dedicated to this topic. The information is there, however, just the same.

Actually, my introductory level American Government text dedicates two whole pages to this exact topic. In June of 2002, Bush made a speech at West Point Military Academy and set forth his new strategic policy for dealing with terrorism. He deemed Cold War policy (containment/deterrence) inadequate and declared a NEW doctrine of preemption. Look it up before commenting.

The book was published by Pearson and the pages in question are 380-381 of Chapter 14 (Foreign Policy). After looking at the book again, I noticed that there is actually only one and a half pages dedicated to this topic. The information is there, however, just the same.

@LoungeLizardLouie As I said before, it doesn't matter when the text was published. The point is that the term Bush Doctrine is a legitimate term and is commonly used. You want something from before the interview? Fine. In June 2003, Dick Cheney said, "If there is anyone in the world today who doubts the seriousness of the Bush Doctrine, I would urge that person to consider the fate of the Taliban in Afghanistan, and of Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq."

@LoungeLizardLouie The fact remains that anyone who had any basic knowledge of Bush's foreign policy agenda would have understood what the term "Bush Doctrine" was in reference to. Sure, the term varied on occasion, just as the spelling of Bin Laden and Gaddafi. However, people still know who is being referenced in these situations. Even Sarah Palin admits that this was a huge gaffe. If she can admit it, why can't you?

Like yourself Gibson is a propagandist. He dredged up some little referred piece of information about Bush and tried to make it seem like common knowledge. Gibson should have been asking questions about the policies McCain would be using. Instead he did the blame Bush routine like Obama is using.

If he were interviewing a liberal socialist then the questions would be given to them ahead of time so they can study-up and their answers would be entered on a teleprompter like Obama. She literally took over the job of writing SNL skits! For the first time, comedians didn't have to work...they just repeated her mind numbing dribble verbatim and had an instant hit!!
