@braddeicide Try running websites on a 2560 x 1600 screen, if you need to scale anything it looks crap with jpg sites. But more still with resolution independent screens a 13inch screen could be 2560 x 1600 instead of 1200 x 800.
dont see what the big hype is over canvas. MS is not poised to support canvas obviously because it contradicts silverlight. do you really want to block out traffic just because they use the wrong browser ? for me still 50% of traffic is IE. ppl are forgetting MS is a giant.
The "hype" behind canvas is that independent developers can finally make native browser games that can match early PC games. Later, when webkit and firefox can better render canvas, then games on the browser can match PC games. MS would hate this since they are almost monopolizes PC games, but if browser games are possible, then Mac users, PC users, Linux users will be able to play the same game.
So when Youtube says you can't view any videos here without using Googles chrome or Firefox etc (or downloading the plug-in Google created for IE). Everyones going to say, well screw youtube, I'll go somewhere else for all my.. erm.. there must be another site with all my favourite... actually I'll just download a new browser.
MS WILL support Canvas because it makes business sense. Thanks to Googles efforts they already do. All that anyone agrees on is let's get rid of Flash.
ur right IE doesn't support the canvas element, there are a few independent efforts to realise canvas on IE, they do not require plugins and are based on Javascript and VML but will inevitably suffer performance wise.
Hopefully this should mean that IE wont stop people using canvas apps but it will be outed as an inferior browser and aid in the migration to better alternatives
how did you insert these textboxes? i'm new in canvas...

This would have been handy in dialup days. I don't really see the advantage now.

Yes, Microsoft is giant. A gigantic piece of shit.
ComradeSlice 2 years ago
hopefully not, maybe if IE stays as bad as is currently is people will move browser.

It will be 30 years before anyone can use canvas with any reliability (i.e. before Internet Explorer implements this).
Get used to JavaScript and Flash, they will be your entire career.

canvas is controlled via javascript fool
and IE can suck a dick
tuleo554 1 year ago
I was clearly referring to JavaScript sans the Canvas API. Fool.
analogysoft 1 year ago
yeah I get that but your argument fails
if we are going to be using Javascript then why is using Javascript in the canvas API such a problem?
and 30 years before anyone can use canvas properly? You must be out of your mind man

Totally broken on IE8. Which still matters. 30 years? No. 3-5 could be realistic, however.
