@OmniDimensionalChic Were you paying attention at all? They're talking about the black star dragon balls which were created by the nameless namek (kami and king piccolo before they split). The balls were reactivated when piccolo and kami fused. The balls they're talking about are still tied to piccolo rather than dende. The regular earth dragon balls still exist after this.

GT makes no sense. Dende was the guardian of the earth so even if piccolo died it wouldn't matter. WTF? Once Kame and Piccolo fused in the Cell saga the balls turned to stone since Kame was no longer the guardian of the earth so Goku went on this whole mission to go to new Namek and brought back Dende to be the guardian of the earth and Dende recreated the dragon using the original dragon design making the balls active again. GT totally disregarded this MAJOR fact.

idk. I find this insanely sad to watch such an awsome character die. He did develope a lot over DB DBZ though i hate GT. However, this is something i can accept from it. Piccolo died in an awsome manner and im glad he spoke to gohan who was the closest person to him throughout the enitre series. Though, I would have found it badass if gohan wasnt in a crowd of people and actually errupted in power due to the anger and sadness, kinda like future trunks when future gohan died.
