I was wondering what does vacuum purging your honey oil do

I thought that and I drained out the oil to the lowest line but it was still producing a bunch of vapor and spitting out oil... Then about after a minute of just running it I come outside and there is oil all over the ground/pump and it looked like a geyser of sorts.

I'm going to call Mastercool and talk about returning it :( I think mine is faulty, or got dropped.

I mean I was outside, and there was a visible cloud of vapor just hanging in the air, as it was pumping it out..

I returned my pump to Amazon and purchased a 3CFM 25 micron pump from harbor freight.. my Harbor Freight pump is working perfectly... Minimal vapor discharge, and when I hold a paper towel over the vapor, there is no visible oil left on the paper towel. Still I will be running it by a window with a fan on :)

Hey I got my vacuum pump... just ran it without being hooked up to anything and its spraying oil vapor every where

its filled up a little below full, i have your same system... any ideas? Yours doesn't seem to be producing fumes, mine looks like a steam engine train! :(

@PrivatePancake sounds like you overfilled the oil? check the level and drain if it's over the fill line. I made the same mistake when i first got my system.

Thank you. I'm making an order for practically the same system next week. After I found your gauge I realized I would probably need some Teflon tape, and additional vacuum tubing. Do you agree?

It appears that the T-splitter(?) comes with the vacuum gauge? Any additional connectors you can suggest?

@PrivatePancake all hoses come with the 20 dollar gauge. i didnt use any tape, great idea, but my vac stays tight until i release the pressure valve so i have no need for tape yet.

I must have spent 2 hours studying your setup. Every time you panned the camera past, I paused and compared my *notes*. LOL. I'm tired of purging 20 grams of oil with a hand pump, thanks for helping me make the upgrade.

It appears that I will just be ordering the pump, the chamber and the gauge. And I will be purging like you in no time. Yes? :D

u can use hand pump i used model mytivac silverline edition However it will not pull like an electric pump you can get it to 26-27.5 only in a small container bigger containers like his one gal. will take hundreds hand pumps and not break 25.After hundreds of runs i'm goin elec will sell hand pump cheap btw decent elec one 150 hand pump 60 if i knew now 2yrs.ago could have saved 60

justed notice us tubes we have 5 and 7 mm beaker .Is the reason you only hit 28.5 because ur altitude.I noticed you keep cap on only using one port, t connector for gauge nice.Still haven't answered if using parchment does your globe cause it to fly I understand u like ur ramaken dish

@fredkapp yes you can use parchment paper in the vac, but remember the BHO will expand, just like in my purge muffin video, so make sure you leave plenty of extra paper for expansion!

@dogma478 the easiest way to test for butane residue is to hold a lighter near the bho and see if it reacts by crackling or popping, higher butane content will actually catch fire.

A cannabinoid will com-bust at a higher temperature than the solvent will. Therefore, when you do the flame test, which has been around for as long as there has been concentrates, if it sparks when the flame is first applied then it is contaminated. If it sparks after a couple seconds of the flame, you are simply reaching the critical vaporization temperature for your "dab" and causing a miniature explosion of hash. Therefore it is probably at its most pure form.

@bonghaven the cracking sound is noise from the vac pump motor. It's electric and a bit clunky sounding when used indoors, remember the pump was originally designed for outdoor use on airconditioner testing.
