  • Such beautiful playing and registration, typical Kilgen strings and they are gorgeous, I may have to send another donation to the organ fund, Thanks Stephen!!

  • sounds lovely! :D

does anyone know where I can get the music for this?

  • Kalmus makes an edition of this in a book entitled, "Max Reger Twelve Pieces for Organ, Opus 80. Kalmus #K02265. I purchased a copy in 2008 so it should be available. Good luck!!

  • WOW! I am learning this piece and I am so impressed with the span of your hands...and the wonderful placement of things...BRAVO BRAVO!

  • Kilgen did make Theatre Organs. There are only two remaining, their instrument in the Palace Theatre in Canton, Ohio, is one of only two remaining in its original home.

  • You played that with such feeling! God Bless you and your music. :)

  • What a masterful performance.

  • This is a very fine organ you have here. Very nicely played Mr. Tharp! To be honest, it doesn't sound like a restoration is necessary. Imagine how more beautiful the sound would be after the restoration! Keep me posted on the progress please. Did Kilgen also make theatre organs as well?

  • Mostly beautiful, nice and imaginative Reger's music. i see, that you deeply understand him.

    Regards:)

  • What lovely strings! What has become of this instrument? Good size, I hope it was restored?

  • Yep, it's gonna be restored as is (hence appeal for donations to organ restoration fund). It's just gorgeous, isn't it? And trust me, I know gorgeous organs and I don't just let any old organ claim that title - it's gotta be pretty special.

  • Thanks - very nice, stop combinations were beautiful †

  • I have purchased some CD's from Joe Vitacco of Stephen Tharpe, and he is among the best.

  • yes. this is a wonderful video. thanks for posting.

  • Wow! Beautifully played, and beautifully recorded. I could hear everything (with the help of my headphones of course). Its rare to find a good recording of a soft organ piece that captures everything, at least on the internet. This'll be getting linked on my organ music page.
