This is the same technique I used to solve My ticking hard drive...Could not access the data on the hard drive with usb Universal Hard Drive Adapter cables (bought on ebay). No HD was indicated. My clicking HD was the C drive on My edit computer. I have five Identical HDdrives on that system. One serving as the C drives..the other four were connected as an array. I simply, borrowed a PCB (circuit board) from one of the HD in the array..replaced it on the failing C Drive. Data then recoverable.
There are adaptives on ROM you moreons. This company is selling you BS products please do not shop there. You can buy Maxtor and Samsung PCB:s if FW is matching. Others just will not work without programing.
@Yellow DB ,thats not true. this actally works. you just need to have the same board. there are many other videos on youtube which show this works by buying a replacement board.
this doesnt work on modern drives each control bord hold certain info for the drive all the did was add a old bord to the drive and say it was broken then they put the original one bak on the presto its all mind games
hey my WD hard drive keeps on showing the message that it needs to be formatted. Is it completely broken or is there a way to recover it.

What a shame so many HDD problems are because of cheap PCBs. Makes me sick. What a way to save a few bucks, eh?
