This demonstrates what is a whole new World to me and I found your video very interesting.I am impressed by your patience! This a subject area of YouTube I never knew existed.Thank you for the entertainment.Good luck.
@chios1958 don't like using drop tubes. They tend to over pour sometimes and I live in the south where humidity makes the powder stick in the tubes sometimes.
Nice video, just what I was looking for as I consider getting into reloading. I hope to achieve the same accuracy results by reloading for my .223 savage axis. I can get 1/2 MOA groups with expensive ammo like the Winchester Ballistic Silvertip, so I'm hoping I can get the same accuracy without going broke, by reloading my own. :) Thanks for the vid!
I reload many different rifle calibers.Usually about 5-8 different calibers. It makes it easier to use different case trimmers for different size calibers. I normally just use the RCBS trimmer for larger calibers such as .308 .300 Win Mag, 8mm and 7mm Rem Mag. I use the Forester in the video primarily for smaller calibers like .223, .22-50 etc...It just makes changing the size settings on them easier...but both work great
@2043sparky It's the RCBS competition seating die. You can find it easily online or any catalog.
It's much more accurate than the regular seating dies in that it has numbered has marks on the top of the die that allow you to seat bullets accurately up to a thousandth of an inch. It takes all the guessing out of seating the bullet. They cost more but are well worth it.
Have you ever shot a whitetail with your 22-250? How'd it do if you have? Just wondering as I do believe it would do it. Want my girlfriend to go hunting but she doesn't like recoil at all. Thx in advance!!!!!!
@alaskanbigsalmon I personally have never went deer hunting with any .22 caliber bullet. However I know some friends who have and killed them. I personally think you run the risk of not making a clean kill and having the deer run off.
If you are worried about the recoil You can shoot a .270, 30-30, or even a .30 caliber. Just shoot smaller grain bullets. The recoil would be very acceptable. My little niece shoots a .270 no problem and she only weights about 110 pounds.
I never ran any of the tools in the improper direction or backwards... If you are referring to the case trimmer, I'm not cutting it backwards at the end, that's just the proper way you back the case out of the case pilot with the Forester Case trimmer.
Hey I'm 15 was looking into getting a gun like a Ruger .22, but I was also looking at a Remington 12 gauge but that's not the point to just shoot cans and whatnot. Would it be worth it to get something like this? What's the difference between just buying more ammo and using it out of the box? Sorry but I am canadian and haven't been around guns much. I probably sound like an idiot.
@VodkaAce I see. If I were to get into the higher calibers like 30-06 would it be worthwhile to reload my own ammunition? Or is reloading ammunition sort of just a hobby thing
yes any centerfire caliber or handgun caliber will save you money when reloading it. It will intially cost a good bit to buy all the equipment and tools. But after you start reloading a while you can start to save a bit.
It all really depends on what you buy as well. If you buy top of the line brass and bullets etc then you might not save all the much if any.
Brass cost more now than what it use to cost 3 plus years ago. So take that into consideration.
@ScopedPewPew im not so sure reloading for 30-06 would be worth all the equipment and components. You can buy 30-06 for nothing compared to other 30 caliber cartridges.
thats awesome.....uve probably been asked this before.....how much does all the equipment cost total....just equipment...not all the primers and shells e.t.c.
Dang. Once again I'm dissuaded from pursuing the reloading of my ammo. I just have to watch one of these videos and realize I'm much too lazy and will gladly pay for factory ammo. I would like to ask one question though... Cost per "average" round vs. cost per average reload? I know you're doing 22-250 here, and if I reloaded it would be 6.8 and 5.56. If my 5.56 ammo (m855) turned out to be 30 cents..how much cheaper would it be if reloaded (average)?
@flamengishta 40$ 4 1k worth of wc844 powder-- 25$ 1k cci#400 small rifle primers-- 40$ 4 1k m855 62gn. military pulled bullets-- brass is free of very cheap if u dont have it,(always grab it when at the range) =105$ to reload 1k rounds of .223, loaded at 5.56 specs. 10.5 cents per round, often a little cheaper if you buy primers and bullets in bulk, prices current as of 02/2011. Store bought m855, if bought in bulk is .50 cent per round. hope this helps.
yes, I'm, quite happy with it. Never had any problems. It does the job well. Only negative I would comment on is it being a bit noisy sometimes. But oil generally tends to fix that.
I would go with a Lee if I had to change brands. Both are very good and respectable.
RCBS has very good customer support from what I have experienced.
you should read a reloading manual from cover to cover before you even take the equipment out of the box. You need to have a really good understanding of what you're doing before you actually do it. i had a bad .50 cal ammo incident that could have resulted in the loss of my vision if I weren't wearing eye protection. reloading is easy, just make sure you follow a manual.
That's a primer pocket uniformer. It's used to make sure the primer pocket is evenly cut on each case. it does not deburr. However the Flash hole deburring tool does deburr the flash hole. Both of mine are made by Sinclair International. Go to their website to check out their products.

@pipehitter505 oh if u reload u die!!! what the F is that they should get does stupid bullets out of my ASSS U son of a Firetruck OH u COmeng to shoot me Oh try U SON OF A BIOTCH! then if u do god will be very surprise that u DID THAT

Thanks this video was very helpful i have been considering buying reloading equipment for my 7mm remington magnum for a while due to the prices of factury ammo these days. I would first suggest joining as Active duty. But if you are intent on doing the once a month route there really is not too much of a difference then between Reserves and NG. You will probably get better training and have better officers and NCO's in the Reserves to be honest. Plus your equipment and gear will be a bit better.

i'd like to get a set. just wonrdering; the lee's are pouplur up here and priced right what whould you think is the best bang for your buck kinda thing the lee's or rcbs not concern about price just quilty but if you can get quilty for cheap.
I personally have not used a Lee Press. But they do make very good equipment from what I have researched and seen from my one buddies setup. Both RCBS and Lee have been in the industry for a long time.
I find RCBS products to be more readily available at local stores and online however.
If you want a single stage press I would suggest going with whatever you feel comfortable with and find has the best price.
Something I may add that makes it 10 times easier to lube your cases, spray lube is very helpful and is soooo much quicker, a good video tho, I am 18 and I've been re loading since 14 and i learned a couple things, thanks for posting. Also, I always resize and trim my cases even if they are new, everything goes so much smoother if you have the time and patience, do you do this as well?
Glad you liked it. I use to use spray lube on the pad, but not anymore. I normally reload larger cases, especially magnum cases like 7mm Rem mag..The lube I use is more more practical for lubing the inside of the case neck.
Yep I resize and trim all my new cases as well, except for Nosler cases.
This video was about as detailed as you could get without wasting your time and boring you with my ramblings.
There are a lot of other instructional videos out there with talking. I do not like that approach, hence the music. I like the concept of visual sight and reading.
Glad you liked it. Good luck with the reloading..Probably a nice bargain you got. Reloading equipment is expensive these days with the high demand, probably saved a bunch!
can't really say I have seen any actual books out there for reloading, although I'm sure there are plenty.
The actual reloading manuals probably have just as much or more valuable information in them. Pick up a recent version of the Sierra, Berger reloading manuals if you can. They have a ton of info in them as well as all the recipes for loads.
Sorry but it's hunting. Reloading goes hand in hand with hunting. There is nothing gross about it. It's nature. People have been hunting animals for thousands of years. :)
Man my dad taught me how to reload shells before I could tie my shoe laces. It's so much cheaper and good to have thye equipment in these times. Great vid... It brought back great memories.
7.62x39 or 7.62x51? nice vid. whats the 2nd song? i dont normaly make my ammo but im supprisd by the grouping at 600yds the .308 is a heavy round supprisd by the acceracy with which you hit the target. fun round to shoot tho, i shoot the FN FAL-7.62x51, @ 100 yds and group in a 3"x3" bullseye. i'd still be shooting.... but after 300rds... my shulder starts to hurt.
yes the 7.62x51NATO is a .308, just the civilian name.
the .308 is an excellent caliber for long distance shooting. It's what the majority of Army and Marines use in their sniper rifles.
Heavier bullets are actually generally used more for long range shooting. .308 has great ballistic qualities. flat shooting, good BC and good terminal velocity. shooting out to 1000 yards is pushing it and requires some skill. but anything under that it handles nicely.
everyone is having a hard time finding primers. Primers of all sizes are in short supply right now because everyone is scared of what the current administration might do. People are buying ammo and reloading supplies in record numbers.
I usually order Remington or Federal primers from midway, cabaellas, or graf and sons. most plaecs have a back order wait right now. Best bet is to get in line and wait :)
might try a local Bass Pro Shops store also, they get them in but sell out quick.
Over the long run yes it is much cheaper to load your own ammo. But initially buying all the component and equipment can be pricey. If you have the money to buy the equipment and materials it will pay off
I havn't started reloading yet, but it's only a matter of time. I shoot a Steyr SSG 69 P1 in .308 and making sub MOA groups with standard issue danish military ammunition, so I'm looking forward to see what I can do with some precise handloads.
alright i will, but how long range you shooting, 168 might not cut it for 800 yards. But it might idk i will try it out. how much are they for 20 round box?
Sir, what does your Russian tattoo say?

@counterstrikenerd321
yes, all the Bullet manufactures have reloading manuals. You can also find a ton of info and guides online, books etc. also about it.
You are free to experiment with the 'grain charge' but you have to keep the charge within a maximum and minimum standard for safety reasons.

Great video thanks a lot for taking the time I appreciate it. Can you use this same equipment for reloading multiple calibers?
ParaBlood 2 years ago
For each separate caliber you have to buy a new seating and resizing die. But you can use most of the other tools and equipment for for all calibers.
Glad you enjoyed!

HI like your video .I just pick up a rcbs but can not find large rifle primers.can you please tell were can find them.THANK you for your help
hunter45701 2 years ago
everyone is having a hard time finding primers.

Nice video! is it cheaper to make your own ammo than to buy it?
CombatAssassin 2 years ago
Over the long run yes it is much cheaper to load your own ammo. But initially buying all the component and equipment can be pricey. If you have the money to buy the equipment and materials it will pay off
VodkaAce 2 years ago
Yeah, I can imagine the equipment and tools to be pricey. Especially if you need that much to load shells! :P

Nice vid. Good explanation!

But it might idk i will try it out. how much are they for 20 round box?

yeah in going to start reloading my remington 700 police 308

give the Berger 168 gr VLD bullets a try. I'm shooting those out of the exact same rifle and I'm getting excellent groups with them.
