I HAD FORGOTTEN WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SONG THIS IS (1971 ) WHERE HAVE ALL THE YEARS GONE AND STILL ALL THE DESTRUCTION STILL GOING ON .IN THE WORLD .WHEN WILL PEOPLE LISTEN (KATIE BEE 1)
What a fantastic era we lived in. Way back then, in the 50s, Our water was pure, our air was clean, jobs were plentiful, never locked our doors. AND MUSIC WAS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wonderful video ..im a mother nature lover ..every year i plant trees on the mountain above my town .this year i even dug a pond for the amphibians to breed in :)
A timeles song which is still -- more than ever -- pertinent.
The destruction of our home -- our blue and white planet EARTH -- continues in spite of the efforts of so many to prevent it.
Is this the Norman Smith AKA Hurricane Smith that sang OH BABE? If so, I just saw that he passed away this year. None of the articles I find on this Hurricane Smith mention Oh Babe. Confused here....but it sounds exactly like him. Thank you
GOOD CALL PAL!!! Hurricane smith AKA norman smith was a sound engineer at abbey road studios, and assisted on numerous recordings for the BEST BAND EVER! and after the split of the band wrote this very tune with john lennon in mind!! sadly for smith lennon declined.........still, good song
PS: if you want a weepy, checkout ''Oh babe whay would you say''

Thanks for posting this. I was lucky enough to meet Norman "Normal" Smith in 2007, a year before he passed. What a beautiful sentiment in this song!

Essa música marca uma fase linda dos jovens dos anos 70, mas ninguem entendia que já se tratava de um grito ecológico.....

I've always loved this visionary song; can't help thinking of similarities to John Lennon's voice.
