  • Is there something like that (man different grips) but with screws???

  • Bought this unfortunatly it doesnt work on my door frames 😡 nice video though

  • Just an FYI to anyone that cares. I weigh 255 and do very strict chins. My door frame trim snapped into pieces on my second set on my third rep. I wouldn't recommend this for big dudes. Sub 220 for sure.

  • guy talks like bill burr. kind of looks like him too

  • The top of my door frame doesn't protrude out of the wall like that... Which means no pull up bar for me. Lol.

  • @Anonymous2335 you can get frameless door hiinges for it at just the cost of shipping and handling there is a little slip that comes in the box I just got it 2 days ago.

  • its amazing! I got mine today. sad thing is that it doesnt fit everybodies doorways. I was lucky. One of my doorways is pretty big so it fit perfectly. I did a stupid thing, adding 10 kg on my back to test it though. It fails over 100 kg since it got a little bit shaky, wont do that again =P. Lucky though because I´m not allowed to drill in the wall so this was a very good investment alongside my collection!!

  • Not too smart. That other bar that you screw and locks on the lateral frame by pressure is better and safer.

  • @hcarvalhoalves I thought so as well before I got this, This is much better since you dont have to stand in the middle of the doorway!

  • lol it looks like its goin 2 snap

  • Dang this video was 3years ago

  • the thing pop out is harder or samething with the thing in side

  • i want one but i dont want it to damange my house!

  • @ua98s It wont damage your house, read my upper comments!

  • That's the old one you need 2 upgrade

  • @Dudenice20 whats wrong with the old one

  • Comment removed

  • @TheVaidhyanathan Roof? WTF

  • John, how much do you weigh? I could see some movement/flexing of the bar from the frame.

  • @bedtimewitheliot mine flexes just a short sec down to the point where its steady. It needs your weight in order to keep it firm. Mine doesnt flex as much as this though. I weigh about 86 kg right now. It does hold 100 KG but its not recommended and I tried to put on some extra kg while doing this and the thing got shaky. 86-90 KG? this thing is for you

  • man i just bought one and in the UK it is useless! all the door frames are old and very think with weird designs and this wouldnt stay on it :(

  • his face look like brock lesner in UFC 121 lol

  • @FutureLaugh @KaiserTheEmperor I have this bar also, and I came upon this problem. The clip is extremely helpful when using the bar. If you are having trouble installing it with your fingers, you can grab a hammer and hammer it in. That is what I did with mine, leaving minimal marks on the wall above it. I painted over it easily, and I use my pull-up bar a lot.

  • i just bought this today- it looks great but what is this little safety clip??? the instructions are so miniscule i have no idea what to do with it?

  • @FutureLaugh same here.do you already know what to do with it?

  • @KaiserTheEmperor yeah i'll tell you what i did with mine. i looked at it, tried to shove it in between the frame through the paint... then i looked at it again carefully- and placing it between my index finger and thumb, jerked my wrist quickly forward and let it go. let it slip out of your hand fluidly and through the air at the direction of a garbage can or recycling bin.

  • @FutureLaugh lol

  • @KaiserTheEmperor put the arrow side down into the doorframe side that you hang it on and then place the pull up bar in it, it's essentially a wedge to help even more with preventing it coming off the frame.

  • @DarthRane113 Realised that was not a very good explanation.

Go to the side of the door frame you are going to hang the pullupbar on, place the wedge arrow end into the door frame once have done that you will realise it makes kind of like a pocket on the frame that you can place the pullup bar into so that you have even more security to prevent it slipping off.

  • Instead of using the doorframe why not install hooks over it like i have done?

  • What do you mean by "like i said, its not going to change your life"? do you mean that the pull up bar is not that good or what? :-)

  • @johnsifferman I was wonering how thick does your door frame have to be for the bar to stay on cos my door frame is quite thin

  • @xJacKuK it has to be newer, i got one yesterday and i cant use it cus my door frame is too thin, so if you have an old house your prolly out of luck :(

  • lol 11 ++ people broke their door frame !

  • Thanks dude!! I have to say thanks for the demonstration.. Going go out and grab one..

  • thats the same one i have!

  • Great vid mate! thanks for the demo!

  • i also wondering to know where go the main pressure on the door frame...on top or front side...because i'm also afraid about the dorr frame

  • how effective are pull up bars like what muscles do they help ?

  • I tried this, but it slides out of the door frame... I need to find a way to 'lock' it in place.

  • For some reason it doesnt fit in my door. Can someone tell me why. I guess my door frame is diff but I really want to do this :(

  • could someone please tell me muscles what each 3 positions target primary and secondary???

  • does it damage ur door ???????

  • @thechampHLR i have about 6 months and there is no slightest mark on my door.

  • "no need to use these for pushups"

Except that doing pushups with open hands can wreck your wrists, so it's a good idea?

  • I bought one of these. The bar itself is not bad but be aware that if you have larger door frame molding at the top of the door, it will not fit in the doorway.

  • since it sits on the door frame and my door frame is a weak piece of wood would it break off instantly the second I do a pull up?

  • @twelveshotz no, the way it works is by putting more pressure on the side of the door than the top, hard to explain but it shouldn't snap the top of your door unless it's only 2mm thick

  • I got one for 15$ its awesome

  • @Kiddentertainment789 Me too i got mine from TJ max :)!!!!!!!

  • so your body weight pulls the bar against the wall and the door frame......which can eventually break the top of the door frame??

  • @wawa0111 if you weigh under 300 pounds you shouldnt have to worry about it

  • my palms got fucked up for using it :/

  • He kind of looks like SeaNanners :P

  • great vid

  • Very informative review. I learned some new methods of hitting different muscle groups. Thanks!!

  • ya but the catch is it will break the frame from the weight :/

  • Thanks for the review. Was looking at one on amazon and needed to see a practical use video. You sold me.

  • You sound like Tom Green

  • I weight like 80 kg and have the exact same door frame in the video ... Should I trust it ? Is my door frame gonna break cuz my parents might kick ma ass if it does

  • I ordered two units through your link.

  • Awesome video man, solid review.

  • sorry for dumb question but is there any possibility that my door frame will break?

  • No wonder "its not gonna change your life" your doin half reps wtf do you expect.

  • I just Bought this couple of days ago Its really nice but the screws for it are really short...everything else is great..

  • Thanks for some info on these type of bars. I'm planning on getting one to use for p90x

  • @jthono How did that work for you? I'm planning on doing the same.

  • GINGER!!!!!!!!!

  • I just bought one of these at the grocery store for $10 on clearance... it's great! off brand, but it's the same exact design. Must be a knockoff

  • probably why it's "not going to change your life" is because you do only a few reps like this guy >.>

  • i got this - little rearlising how deep the door frame has to be :(

  • search - wide arm pull ups door

    24 of these :D

  • How are Sooty and Sweep anyways?

  • Crap. Slid off my doorframe. Only works if you have a massive width on the top of the doorframe.

  • is this really secure i mean it is on ur doorframe

  • The only reason it's not life changing is because you don't get off your jaxi and change it.

  • Great review, convinced me to buy one.

  • Im gettin this soon. How much this cost

  • Great Video! Keep it up!

Check out my page, I just Posted a New PULL UP VIDEO!

  • Do you suggest this bar? I weigh 140 pounds so would that be good. Thanks.

  • Do you know of a Door frame mount Bar that can fit a door opening framed in a 2x6 wall. With Gypsum and Trim the thickness of the wall is more near 7 1/2" ,as opposed to the 2x4 wall that is about 5 1/2" Thick.

  • you sure that thing is secure? looks like it could snap off any second

  • thanks for the great review

  • thanks for the review mate, idiots picking at you saying its not gonna change your life???

  • How much do you weigh?

  • normally I pass on this as seen on tv stuff, because 90% of it is garbage, but I must say this product is not to bad and it is probably the only way a home user is gonna be able to do pull ups, other then having monkey bars in there back yard

  • does it mark up the walls?

  • @brandonm1392 No, it wont, you will get no scratches!!

  • hi this is john gay from johngay.com

  • your a faggot bitch nigger

  • it WILL change my life! don't tell me any different!

  • FAKE!!

  • lol idiots. when he says "it's not gonna change your life" he means that it won't bring any miracles to your life as long as you don't use it properly. and he's right, only purchasing and putting it to your door frame won't make your back super-muscular. WORK HARD.

  • @bt4life Or he might mean that it wont change your life. Wont get you superfit, wont screw up your life and wont cook for you.

  • thats definitly not very durable

  • this pasty scrawny dude is a strength trainer?

  • @KPdbg997 Just because your strong doesnt mean you have to be big. He probably does Stronglifts instead of Hypertrophy like majority of the people. Have you seen the guys in the olympics? They can deadlift 300-400 pounds and arent even that big, most are just chubby. If you workout with hypertrophy, you'll get bigger and stronger, but if you jus do lower reps, you will mostly get stronger and wont get too big.

  • you're the best looking red head i've ever seen

  • Will it break my picture rail thing?

  • Hey John,

Do you think this would be good to use with elbow straps for the stomach?

  • Nice review...

  • haha I was wondering how you would do kipping pullups with that bar. I suppose you'd fall flat on your ass if you tried.

  • just bought one... love it

  • whats better,a pull up bar?or a weight bench?

  • are u sure this wont rip the trim off my door?

  • Hey, johnsifferman

i recently bought this and just realized my door frames inside the wall not outside. Where else can i put this pullup bar? any ideas? much appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Jeremy

  • Your exactly right when you said I would be more concerned about the door frame, I have used the exact same pull-up bar for about 3 months, I weight about 190 lbs. I have noticed that a horzontial crack has appeared above the top rail of the door when you place the pull-up bar.

So I would be careful using these devices because it in time you will probably weaken the door frame. Maybe try a free standing pull-up bar or one you can bolt to a solid wall outside.

  • Why does he have a hat on indoors?

  • @nights2018 It looks good on camera

  • @nights2018 because its snowing ;)

  • @nights2018 cos hes cold

  • @nights2018 hes probly bald

  • @nights2018 cus hes balding

  • @nights2018 why not

  • thats tite im goona go get it rite now happy new year lol

  • how many reps a day should you do?

  • @ThaGiver to failure

  • You look like a young, fit Louis C.K.

  • POOR QUALITY! I received this last year as a xmas present from my kids. 6-9 pull-ups 5 days a week for 7 months and the grips shredded apart. I guess you get what you pay for. Just be ready to by one every year. I'm searching for a better quality pull-up bar now to replace this.

  • @jazzzman1000 I agree, it is cheap... as a side note, what the hell are you doing pull ups 5 days a week for? =p

  • @jazzzman1000

Dude.. they only cost about 20 quid...

  • In my village we have no doors, what should we do?

  • @Amanatos build a door

  • @Amanatos take a tree

  • @Amanatos haha lol ur fucked xD

  • @Amanatos glue it on?!?!?!

  • that thing is fucking brilliant. just crack out 10 pull ups every time you walk past it. who needs a gym. also you can lift your legs up whilst hanging to train ur abs

  • Awesome review man :) Thanks. Might pick one of these up soon :)

  • thnks a lot man, i fell me knees f up from kipping...now i knw wht not to do...

  • good vid, too bad i cant get one of those here because i really need one, rows are shit.

  • "thats about...thats about it"

    i lolled idk why

i weigh 260 works in my doorway great

  • that door frame doesn't sound safe

  • i bought one of these but my house is like 100 years old so the frame is wierd and now i cant use it, its a huge disappointment. is there any way to fix this?

  • that was a damn good review video.

  • @13andincrediblycut bro what the heck you talking about, what about posting a video of that hero body??????????

  • @13andincrediblycut good to hear bro.) keep it up then

  • @13andincrediblycut lol dude thats insane. must b all that bovine growth hormone in the milk

  • I just got the p90x chin-up bar, it has more angels for pullups.

  • i have seen a whole setup for pull ups that was only like 100$ u gotta weigh it down and its not small as hell but damn this thing is just seems like to much of a bs piece of crap

a door frame was not made for pull ups even with leverage lol

  • seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen

  • @13andincrediblycut you're 13 and 200lbs and can only do 30 with no momentum with dead hang? I call bullshit.

  • I subscribed cuz your hott!

  • "Thats about it. It's just a pull up bar. It's not going to change your life." Classic

  • i weigh 160 lbs, do you all think that i wouldnt wreck my door?

  • I bought one because a friend has one and was really excited to start using it but I have "abnormal" or non standard doorframes... they're like 6 or more inches wide and quite thick :( stupid ornamental bs. any suggestions for doorway pullup bars that may fit non standard doorframes? or anything else?

  • this guy needs a sturdier doorframe...

  • I have done pull ups since I was a teenager. Always liked it. Recently and for no apparent reason I began feeling PAIN in the lower part of my spine Every time I do a single pull up.

In a very precise point. Somewhere about 3/4 down. Is always the same spot.

I know I am doing something wrong. Otherwise I would feel no pain.

Do you happen to have any idea of what could possibly be the cause of that ?

Please any suggestion to what could possibly be the cause would be GREAT.

    tks !

  • @GanzLONDON Hi there. I have the same issue sometimes. I have scitica. So that means the sciatic nerve kind of moves and causes pretty intense pain (it starts as a dull pain). Try doing some stretches for the sciatic nerve. I mean like 5 or 10 minutes a couple of times a week should do it so you relax the entire area. That is what I have been doing and I can continue with my workouts. You may have something totally different but it works for me.

  • @papasitoman MANY Many thanks... I am also doing the SCOOBY's lower back Rehab... " Back Pain, avoidance and rehab ".

    I will try everything....

  • @GanzLONDON Hey, no worries. The only other thing is that I followed the advice of some doctors and chiropractors and some people on youtube that say to do it like 3 times a day, several times a week etc-that made me SUPER sore. Now I do it like 2-3 times a week for like 10 minutes each time and it works great.

    Cheers,

    Papa

    P.S. I also follow Scooby´s workouts!

  • @papasitoman Thanks again !! Cheers !!!

  • Great review!

  • Good review. I want to get one, but I'm concerned that it will rip off the molding in the door frame. Does it put any force at all ont the molding? I noticed yours didn't rip off, so I'm guessing that it doesn't. Or maybe you just have really strong molding. :)

  • @Cenobite30 Surprisignly no, I got one for my birthday, It equals out the force on it, so it just pushes against it, instead of pulling down

  • Great video! Except although the bar may not change your life, I think doing pull ups can change your life! :)

  • why did you have to say it wasnt going to change my life???? I WAS REALLY BANKING ON THIS

  • @levraijoueur LOL! He broke my heart when he said that haha.

  • @levraijoueur I know! I felt that way, too. I'm about to purchase it. Everything I've read about pull-ups is is that it's the best strength training exercise around. That's because no other single exercise can work so many muscles at once. So I'm not sure what Jeff means in this video. He didn't seem all that enthustiastic about it, that's for sure. However, there's hope. Just do a search on Dr. Oz. He's very big on pull-ups and recommends them a lot. He's got a perfectly toned body.

  • @levraijoueur Yeah i was dissapointed too.

  • @levraijoueur this is quite good i got one and it really is making a difference, i do protein shake a day and this, great muscle repair and results SLOWLY beginning to show, and cheaper than the gym hahaa

  • @donnav786 For real dawg!

  • @TheBoyNextDoor7002 lol yup slowlllly getting there

  • thanks

  • I've just recently graduated high-school and am setting off to college this fall. Right now, I'm a little lazy and get no form of exercise whatsoever. Would this be a good piece of equipment to have for a beginner just starting to work out? I thought it might be a good size as my dorm room wont be that big. Would this be good for me? I thought I might start doing a few pull ups each day with this, then also (without it) a few sit ups a crunches? Would that be a good start? Any advice?

  • Is there a difference between this and stand alone pull up bars, as far muscles worked? Reason I ask is, I'm 6'5" and I can literally touch the ground with my knees when I'm doing dead hangs with this one. I can do more pull ups on a stand alone bar that's say 8 feet tall. Where as I struggle with a door frame bar that is only 6 and half feet tall. Just wondering if I should waste my time using the door mounted bar or just go build a regular one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • It's not life changing?...

Dang it man.. you ruined my dream.

  • Just an observation, but this thing looks like it's pulling quite heavily on the upper doorframe, which can't be good. The bar I have uses a cantilever action to exert most of the force onto the frame. It's called powerbar and it's manufactured in the uk. Not trying to make out it's great, but maybe you could review it. Just a thought, but thanks for the vid btw, very informative:)

  • You can buy this at target for 30-40$

  • @FrEsHBoii2FLY i got it from dicks for 20 buck hahaha
