  • twat 'teacher'

  • What a freaking idiot. You don't need to flip!

  • stupid fuker...EXPERTVILLAGE SUKS DIKS!!! No one on their channel doesnt know ANYTHING!!! If you wanna learn to sing search: SingingSuccess they are AMAZING! The main guy Brett is actually a well known singing instructor who helped many people like Avril lavigne, pink, and others! This nerd is SHT!

  • good female coloratura soprano (range to Mozart's soprano F) can manage this range without using head voice? Is it possible? I understand that it is possible for small larynx (about 14 mm). Clint van de Linde singing Queen of the night sung the high notes very natural, Robin Shlotz used head voice?

  • This is a masterclass in what not to do. Here, the vocal chords are being massacred by a wilful neglect of the upper stomach muscles resulting in an almost indescribable din. This is contempt for music in it's very darkest form.

  • Just skip too 3:05 Dont watch anything till you watch that..

  • So, is there a way to get rid of that break and don't sing higher notes in a falsetto?

  • The ALTO part of a man's voice.

  • Press 8 repeatedly. What's it sound like?

  • I Canot Reach Falsetto But Im Planing to Write A Song In It...

Soo What Shlould I Do ?

  • @krisraps write a song you can sing correctly

  • @Yunghustlagl6 Im In Love With Falsetto ..

Im trying And It gets Better

  • @krisraps yes you can.

  • @hatstalker I try Hard And Sometimes I Have It1 Sometimes I Don`t

  • Great, thanks for this video!

  • Press 2 repeatedly to meet Homer Simpson!

  • Keep pressing 5 and it sounds like a race track haha

  • @brightonboarder

But it's not the purpose of the video. Go tell your jokes elsewhere, kthx<3

  • @qnoonan2011 haha. I can do whatever I want bro. Just relax...

  • @brightonboarder

I know I can't control what you say or anything, :P

I just wish more people would be respectful to videos. *Shrug* I suppose it's a lot to ask.

  • 3:10 keep clicking it and he sounds like he is saying "pedo"

  • GGGGGGG!!!!!! Up in theeere!!! can you hear the differeeeeence!?!? Lol I love youtube.

  • is it possible to raise your break?

  • @vlim9 I do it all the time...

  • excellent example and illustration of what and how to sing falsetto. Well done sir.

  • DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS. IT IS WRONG

  • @regnis90 Don't listen to regnis90's comment. He is wrong.

  • @regnis90 why?

  • @regnis90 ..yeah.. and head voice is not falsetto...!

  • @regnis90 oh yeah!! i used to think that what he did was actually falsetto until i sang with falsetto (during the song I want out from helloween. The chorus in that song is falsetto by Kiske (when he goes over C5)) what the guy in the video does is chest voice with his chords really wide open. Anyone can do this... falsetto is waaaaaaayy up in the head!

  • bear with me please.

my voice had broken and i have a good chest voice.

but when i try to hit the falsetto part there's nothing there.

literally when i hit the point, my throat produces no sound just air is coming out of my mouth?

it's quite frustrating as i do wish to be able to sing falsetto.

an example of what i'd be aiming for would be Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low (i dont like them)

i dont know what the problem is maybe 'cause my voice has broke, but that was about 2 yars ago.

  • @Astrozombie89 I'm guessing you hit puberty? Not trying to insult you if you're not, but it is common to lose your falsetto after your balls drop.

  • @PaperSoundtrack

    yeah like two years ago,

i can do it partly but not as much as i would like to.

does it change as you get older?

  • @Astrozombie89 It's actually not as easy as this guy explained it. You have to use your head voice, meaning not your diaphragm. It's difficult to explain, but you're basically singing directly from your throat.

  • hey can you teach me to sing this with words?

  • This guy is completely wrong, he's actually singing in head voice here.

Head voice and falsetto are two different things.

  • I can do that.

  • you need to distinguish between head voice and falsetto. At the moment your is saying that the male voice pass the break is falsetto, this is wrong.

  • 0:13 Got it...

  • not really teaching anything.

  • @rekaepa

Yes he did. What he taught is that you can find your falsetto voice by going an octave higher than on the note you previously were on.

  • are U Alan From Two and a half men?

  • my break is a little bit liar

  • Ah right, that song was:

    Muse - New Born

  • After listening and singing along to a few songs from Muse, I can flip over to falsetto but I can't do it progressively. Owh god.

  • hey expertvillage guy, I'm interested to hear your music. where?

  • This guy could not be more wrong. Pre-pubescent children have head voice because of the absence of testosterone in their bloodstream. Even if a child TRIED to thicken his/her voice with protein or vitamin-based diets, it would sound deep but not super-thick. Falsetto and head voice are also not employed exclusively to sing in the soprano register, but just to sing high. Head voice means you're using your vocal muscle, which is exercised and can thin out.

  • Justin Hawkins has an awesome falsetto.

  • Nick Pitera is Falsetto MASTER ^^

  • head voice and falsetto ARE NOT the same, neither are they restricted to one sex. It is not physically possible for them to be the same, and anyone who disagrees should watch a video of the vocal chords from inside the throat and you can see the different structures ot the folds when in the two tones. The chords 'zip up' (adduction) in head voice and they break apart in falsetto, producing a different sound. The falsetto tone has a very airy sound and not as pure as the head voice

  • jeff buckley has the best falsetto, listen to everybody here wants you and your see!!!

  • Hahaha funny your intro.

  • that was a good explanation. Thank you silly florida guy. Buy from Amsterdam

  • shit try out the stuff he is doing on this video. It helped me so much! i never knew how powerful my voice was!

  • I dont think that was a falsetto.

  • lovely video! thanks.

  • This dude is wrong, isn't he? The two voices he demonstrates there are chest voice and then head voice for the higher range. But there's also a third voice, falsetto, which people like Chris Martin and Justin Timberlake often use. I cannot make falsetto sounds. I've never been able to. It's always frustrated me. The only times i've been able to make a falsetto sound, and even then only just, is after i've damaged my voice by singing or shouting too hard.

  • thom yorke is the king of falsetto

  • im obssesed with king thom

  • listen to that band Of machines

The singer uses A falsetto all the time

  • @dixiejoe88 just because he has better style than you doesn't mean you have to be a dick. And, he probably has a better voice than you so go crawl back in the whole you live in.

  • I never liked how these how-to videos are geared toward pop and show tunes fans. The only metal how-to-sing videos have to do with screaming and death growling, and I already have that down!

  • yeah man, i wanna learn a david lee roth scream in falsetto. i can already growl so none of the other vids help.

  • well most "metal singers" are really just using operatic/belt singing, and either way expert village kinda sucks most of the time.

  • Men and women have the same structure in their vocal cords, only differing by the length of the vocal cords. So saying falsetto for men and head voice for women isn't logical. I disagree with your analysis.

  • Iunno, but it's true, you never hear someone say a girl is singing in falsetto. I think he knows what he's talking about. There's definetly a different term for it.

  • Different terms add to confusion. You can use a spectrogram analysis on your voice to see if you are singing in modal voice or falsetto. I have an example of singing high in modal voice on my channel. I have to try one with falsetto for contrast. I have a hard time singing in falsetto so II may find examples and do a montage of different voices video.

  • @PunkDependency both genders have head voice (part of the modal voice) and falsetto registers, but in the female voice these are often indistinguishable to the listener so female falsetto is rarely identified as such. The break between modal and falsetto registers which Tom demonstrates here - if you listen to Beyoncé's Halo, you'll hear her using that technique for effect.

  • everyday in the morning after warming up i can sing falsetto really nice and smoothly, but after awhile even with rest and water when i try to sing falsetto it seems sorta rough? sometimes i may even lose the range.i think im singing with correct breathing and with the right muscles because i never have strain and ive had voice teachers before but its relly annoying me this issue.

  • just listen to a few songs by muse and you will inevitably hear some excellent examples of falsetto used in its proper place

  • @Dahuin Yes my friend was about to mention them myself.

For anyone interested listen to Micro Cuts firstly, Showbiz, Plug in Baby to name a few, though, to be honest most Muse songs feature some sort of falsetto

  • perfect example would be supermassive black hole.

  • A better one, Microcuts from MUSE too.

  • Matt has a high voice in general. well i guess he uses a bit less than he used to, but really, Muse overall generally has higher vocal ranges for vocals.

  • @Dahuin yes yes yes yes

  • @Dahuin axl rose does that all the time

  • @Dahuin or listen to john mayer ... he does it alot and sounds really good

  • @Dahuin wat about judas priest (:

  • @Dahuin one of the best falsettos

  • @Dahuin citizen erased and microcuts shows off matt bellamys falsetto

  • when i was like 6 or something i obviously didn't no what falsetto was so i was running areound the house saying "Mummy Daddy my voice is special, i have to voices ahhhh(chest voice) AHHHH!!! (Falsetto)" lol good times good time :p

  • At 6 years old? You were just singing a higher note...

Falsetto is when you sing a note in the section above where your voice has broken.

  • @GKFC well around 6 :p

  • Haha, nps man.

  • falsetto and head voice have nothing to do with each other. head voice is the same as chest voice, except the placement of your singing, they're both natural. but falsetto is different and not natural, you tweak your voice, and technically it would be throat voice.

  • Another good example of falsetto is in the song Painkiller by Judas Priest. It's actually what inspired me to learn falsetto, cause I was singing it and at about 2 minutes in I just heard this profound change of pitch in my voice, and it was just amazing.

  • You are saying falsetto and head voice are the same. I don't necessarily agree. I contend that falsetto is really a weaker form of head voice. Head voice requires adduction of the vocal cords, falsetto the cords aren't adducting completely.

Your examples are not quite singing all the time in falsetto. I have a spectrogram going and you go from head voice (when singing high) into falsetto and back into head voice. Depends on how intensely you adduct your cords.

  • Haha, i used to sing in Falsetto and Tenor but now I'm lucky if I can even scream like a girl.

    Puberty killed my singing career.

  • I normally sing between Baritone-Bass, but if I catch a fastball, woman's shoe or knee to the scrotilia-Italian tragic opera Soprano for ~10 min

  • lol apart from beeing a gd video it also made me laugh...all videos should be somthing like that lol

  • I am a bass, and It seems as if being a bass has helped me to sing higher in falsetto. The lower my range goes, the higher I can go in Falsetto. I can currently hit an E-Flat, low, and a B-Sharp Way up there in falsetto. I am 16.

  • I think falsetto came quite naturally for me. It's not so much about being able to sing it, but to sing it nicely. You don't want to sound half dead when you're in your falsetto pitch.

Some people just have nice control over their falsetto voices. Like that song Two is better than One, the lead singer from BLG has a crazy nice falsetto voice.

  • As far as I understand, your head voice is not the same as falsetto, boys sing true soprano, and woman can sing falsetto as well.

  • This was really helpful, and fun to watch. I am actually studying for acoustic phonetics, not trying to sing falsetto, so it was really helpful when you mentioned how the vocal folds are vibrating. Thanks!

  • Lol Ligher Lower Higher XD

  • i dont :( even after this tutorial T_T

  • o.. I thought it's a natural thing for everyone. for example, when people scream they go into falsetto. I guess not everyone has falsetto.

  • He reminds me of a lot of music teachers I've had. This was really quite helpful. :)

  • jajaja i loved the final part! lol great!!

  • cool thnx

  • the end reminded me of stewy when he picks on brian about his book xD

  • thank you - very helpful vid.

  • Can somebody translate ?

    Don't understand

  • 2:15 to 2:30 is funny as hell hahahaha

  • Thanks that was actually a very helpful tip.

  • i guess

  • by silly guy does he mean flaming gay?

  • BAHAHAHAHA

  • @askrere Yes.

  • @askrere LMAO

  • @askrere

    Wow. Way to be immature.

  • Female falsetto would be whistle register.

  • lol

  • can you develop falsetto as you keep on practicing? .... for guys? if so how?

  • Im pretty sure you can...Im only 17 and when I went through puberty my deep voice came in but the high voice amazingly stayed. So i can sing just like Matt bellamy in his Supermassive Black track without any prior training.

  • not of the intro.. but or the intro***

my fault.. Execution is the intro of 'Order Of The Rose'

  • I wondered why you asked me about it :P Glad to know I'm not the only one hunting. Ten thousand strong isn;t to bad, it's holding the note that's the problem. Try Painkiller by Judas Priest OR Dracula by Iced Earth

  • Painkiller is awesome:P

    and so is Dracula :P

and yeah.. i hunting to xD

  • Dracula is easier falsetto lol

  • xD hahaha

    Guess so yeah xD

  • this video is amusing. lol

  • good Falsetto: Brian Wilson singing dont worry baby

  • great falsetto: Rob Halford singing painkiller

  • Hell Yeah, now where talking \m/!!

Try The High notes in 'Ten Thousand Strong' by 'Iced Earth'. of the Intro named: 'Execution' also by 'Iced Earth'

  • ahhhhh-uhhhhhh!!

    Fuuuuuuckingggggg-Reeeeetarddddd!

  • ur a good teacher!!!!! thankz!

  • silly guy!

  • Does falsetto really mean that rather than singing full voice from your lungs you're able to hit higher notes as you are just singing from the throat?(tends to sound kind of nasaly, and a bit iffy as you feel they arent really singing, there is no power to the voice, no umf) ... I might be way off ... if that's not falsetto, can someone enlighten me on what the term is for that "technique" where you sing from your throat

  • he sounds like omar from the mars volta

  • havent even watch this yet but if u dont like it dont watch it y dont u get off youtube hmmmm

  • I was told that I sing in falsetto but I am only 8, hope you will look at my videos to see :) thanks!

  • hahahah! such a funny guy! thnx for the advice dude!

  • ps: the "soprano part of a persons voice" BAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Head voice and falsetto arent the same thing! There is no real break between the "chest" and falesetto vocies. A male does have a "head voice". What he is using in this vid is head voice. When a male sings in head voice, the vocal tract takes a whole diffrent position, an unhealthy one, therefore a break occures. Falesetto, on the other hand, if used properly can be mixed with the chest voice to extend the male voice into the higher register. Just listen to pavarotti or jussi bjorling, ull see

  • THANK YOU! I thought I was going crazy, I knew what this guy was saying wasn't right

  • Comment removed

  • Falsetto is not head voice. Er this guy is clueless. You have chest voice ah, head voice ii and falsetto ee which is breathy and at the back of your mouth. Even when you have a sore throat you can still sing falsetto but not much else because it does not engage your vocal chords properly.

  • I have that piano! <3 I love it. :]

  • at 3:03

did someone just grab his balls.

    hahahaha jk.

  • but we still can sing pop in falsetto like nick petira!! :D:D

  • holy moley canoley

  • "The vocal cords are all vibrating" .... what, all two of them? Something tells me this guy pictures the larynx to look like the inside of a piano

  • i thought falsetto was more than just singing in a higher octave. i thought it was an actual difference in quality and tone?

  • check this out

    v=xlRGidTBCPU

    or this

    v=aVvqFqITYlY

thank you for the information. I thank you.

  • oh now i get the song: The Dream - Falsetto

  • Great Vid....The technique in finding the Falsetto(headvoice in layman terms) is what a lot of vocal teachers teach.

  • I feel bad for the camera man

  • This dude thinks Falsetto is head voice for some reason . . .maybe he only has 1 octave?

  • falsetto is CHEST coice manipulated in physical form to make it higher pitched. Justin timberlake does it alot.

  • cool!

  • Good lesson, but you're such a weirdo mate.
