  • can you get more awesome than this?

  • nice chord changes you losers

  • i wish they'd play at my highschool.

  • I like the way Naomi prances around. Great band.

  • and walk on the cloney side clone

  • Cloney Island clone

  • Whiney Indie kid for three!

  • This is great to see live, but it's nothing without the Santo & Johnny style lead.

I will get married to this song, though. Amazing.

  • I just did a cover of this...  ----> watch?v=mqi2iCU8AEg

  • @BoySoprano Nope, this is the right video: /watch?v=p4Ty949QS_o

  • @tugboatpatrick lets all give a round of applause to bobby Bouche for blessing us with his opinion.

  • I was there that day! Great show! (in the high school gym). Curious where you got the video footage...

  • @cordeliaflyte it's from the Galaxie 500 Don't Let Our Youth Go To Waste 1987-1991 DVD. Pick it up. Lot's of great footage.

  • Please check out The Blue Angel Lounge from Germany! They never covered any song - exept this one.

  • this is just lovely

  • pandora played this song for me, i had to bookmark it so i didnt lose who it was by, cause it was that awesome!

  • There's a place we'd all like to be...

  • this is beautiful!

  • They were great, Galaxie 500 and Luna forever!!!!

  • So cool that this video exists.

  • My mistake was being, and living, in N England. The Smiths through qual control, at the time, rendered everything 2nd. G500 had the timing of, without any tags, just coming after the white hot brilliance, a different feel. UK "Snub TV". G500 was a diff "vibe". Nobody worth his salt compared, didn`t even mention it. Galaxy 500 had a tragic feel, anyway.

  • Let me rephrase that...TECHINCAL musical ability.

  • Every riff of all of their songs is Heroin by the Velvet Underground! Most of Galaxies tunes are just D then G for the chorus. But that doesn't stop them being amazing, proving that the communication of the music doesn't rely on any kind of musical ability.

  • what pedal is Dean Wareham from the band is he using?

  • jay reatard turned me on to these guys, such a great find.

  • punk rock... so wonderful that it was figured out you could still comunicate without virtuoso abilities or glossy image or mass approval. this concept is only about 50 yrs old.

  • dean, quiero un hijo tuyo

  • Comment removed

  • pretty sure this is the same riff as heroin by velvet underground

  • donkeypoke:

    Shit!

    you're correct.

These harvard educated posers got me good

  • not to be too catty...this band still kicks ass

  • I'm reminded of the time, around THIS IS OUR MUSIC, that they appeared on MuchMusic, and VJ Erica Ehm asked them about their Velvet Underground influence, and they said they'd never heard them. She started to explain it. She had the single of Fourth of July on the desk, whose flip side was a VU cover! (She also asked the band Crash Vegas how they got to work with Malcolm Burn. Jocelyn Lanois of the band was there, and her brother Daniel worked with Malcolm frequently,so figure it out...).

  • So that's how you avoid getting shocked by the mic. Put the micstand on the floor.

  • sweet

  • Heard this band for the first time last week(Thanks Dave). As good as anything I've ever heard.

  • Less is more.

  • So true...

  • In the day I landed foot in Sao Paulo-BRA, back in 2003, ended up going to this Luna concert. Listening to this made me go back to that night and remember this great guitar sound.

  • I wish Ipswich in the UK was like this so i won't fell out of place that much

    galaxie 500 rules

  • Great Video, thanks for posting. I just saw them last week and posted the video response above. 20 years later and still such a great song. Dean's guitar is just amazing.

  • No.

  • Yes.

  • By far, my favorite Galaxie 500 song, and one of my favorites from a great era of Boston music. Wish the Boston scene had stuff as good as this these days.
