You can really tell how much weight he's lost. I have to say, I prefer a rounder Alton. He's looking particularly good in the shirt from 7:30. But, I suspect that he's happier at the lower weight, which is really what's important. *sigh*
to play devil's advocate you could say that the pump is a multitasker because you can use it for all other sorts of crustaceans, lobsters, crabs, maybe even keep a fish caught live for diner as fresh as possible
@dawg1157 it keeps them alive, and with crawfish, that is pretty important...the fact that the task seems unimportant to you, does not change the fact that it is an additional task. Sorry, you ARE wrong...
Number 1 - OK, I've tried Alton's idea of letting the crawdad's purge for 24 hours in a fish tank. It sounds good except for one small problem. Crawdads kill and eat each other. You put 100 crawdads in the tank in 24 hours you have less than 25.
Number 2 - After you boil crawdads, it is not much of a problem to clean the "mud line" as it's called.
Number 3 - Catching them is pretty easy at a lake, along a stone dike at night with a flash light.
Lol....when me and some friends go camping at this lake in Utah....we dont take food......we just go and scoop these things up by the handfulls under the docks....and eat them.....yum.....good eats.
So the crawfish missed their human counterparts so much, that they traveled thousands of miles, just so that the humans can eat them in the end. Sheesh!
I remember growing up me and my buddies would go to a creek right by my old home and catch em by the dozens. Now unfortunately the creek has a toxic "rainbow shine" color.
When we're swimming if we sneak up on them right we can just reach in and pick them up no problem. Just make sure to grab them by the back of their head so they cant claw you.
@igray2020 Hav you ever gone crawfishing before? True the best way is to get a line and some really strong smelling bait but honestly if you see one close enough (and in some places they're very plentiful) it may just be easier and more time consuming to pluck it out of the water. I find it very believable that he grabbed it out of the water though he probably found it before he started shooting and grabbed it at the right moment.
He definitely could have caught it just by plucking it out of the river. I used to catch 'em the same way when I was a kid.

That $30 aquarium pump is a uni-tasker if I ever saw one.
speedwack 2 years ago
@speedwack not really, consider it intended use, the use in this form is another use, thus multitasking

@GreymarshMaster does oxygenating water for fish have anything to do with food? No it doesn't...therefore it's a unitasker

@igray2020 I used to catch crawdads all the time. It's silly to not believe that the scene was staged, but it IS possible to catch them that way.
