It was about the rise of the youth culture of the 60's and everyone kind of recognizing their own power. Its most specifically about the sunset strip riots of 1966, but in general i think It was about youth getting fed up with "the old ways." I love the sound they get on this record, still seems like it came out yesterday! Thank you for posting!
@foneBro utmost respect to you. thank the lord you are still here with us. we are here to continue to defend our country...home of the brave. thank you so much for your service to help the past five decades...god bless you. <3 we will take the baton from here and fight for our home. we can't thank you enough!!
@foneBro It's sad that this song still rings very true with the times... Thank you for your service, and all your brothers and sisters past and present who served and continue to serve. Semper Fi!
@foneBro this song is so real even now.my god,it all over the US...its happening again.folks speaking there peace.my generation my establishment are gearing up to help with there kids voices being heard and not getting them killed in the maylay of politics.we stood for peace coming out of the jungles of vietnam where our bogus politicians sitting at a table at a cabinet meeting thot they wanted VC to need our brand of peace.we want peace in our own streets.
@foneBro powerhouse song now,our kids & grand kids are in the streets being hurt & killed the local shops.let them be heard without killing them.this the united states.

It's funny because this song wasn't inspired by the Vietnam War.
Instead, The protests against a 10pm curfew in Los Angeles in 1966.
Still an awesome song. I can see how people mistake it. I know I did.

It is not an anti-war song folks. It was written after Stills saw the protests in LA about the closing of a night club.
