There are some deficiencies in Paul's understanding but thinking the world is la-la land is not one of them. You may be living in a reverse la-la-la..having an undue respect, as we have all been trained to have, that authoritarian power, wars and assassinations benefits us. Ex-CIA Robert Steele says we'd be much better off with open-source intelligence. Ex-CIA John Stockwell, wrote a book, "In Search of Enemies" describing US foreign policy.
This makes leaving the country impossible. Because the law can get you anywhere inside or outside even if you have done nothing wrong. Its hard to have a trial after the person has been assisnated.

Torture is also illegal in international and demoestic law, did that stop the clown president Bush? How come I don't see you stand there and give this speech when Bush was in power?

If you followed the history of Ron Paul you will find he was a lone voice in Congress against Bush and was smeared as an outcast in the general corporate media. He has been consistent with his voting and message for decades. Unfortanately too many in the US have not listened and still are not. Research what you are talking about before you are quick to judge.
Cause you weren't paying attention apparently. Ron Paul is the only consistant voice for rule of law and constitutional government. Sadly, he's vastly outnumbered.

I find it sad that you are willing to play partisan politics when there is a clear and present danger to setting a very dangerous precedent to this "war on terrorism", and spread of democracy. I think every American would be right to ignore the political cant, and to protest such harm to our Constitutional-Republic. This is about doing the right thing: demanding, not begging, our freedoms!
Short answer: you weren't watching. Paul spoke out against giving Bush authorization to invade Iraq; later, he said that impeachment should be considered. If you're against Paul for some other reason..like his comments about gays, you should be honest and come out and say that. Paul said the entire Republican Party deserved to be "punished". He said in answer to a question during the election season that if he had to vote for someone else for President, he would vote for Dennis Kucinich.
