Hmm? Bldg 7 on 9 1 1 must have been made out of beer cans? You could only see a couple floors on fire in spots and it did a full bldg collapse? This fire was HUGE and the even thinner steel frame still stood at the end????

No one really knows its suspected that it was an electrical fire in one of the towers, but it was so badly damaged the fire brigade investigators could not find anything conclusive.

i no the owner of the pier hes a family friend and he was distrot about it. people have been saying that it is a chip pan or kitchen fire.

It's burnt down before this, maybe more then once but it definetly has. But it was re-built! They WILL rebuild it again so just think the pier is gonna be even better once it is.

So very very sad, i cried when i saw it on the news yerterday...so many happy memories of the pier....i feel like a part of my chilhood has gone. If everyone pulls together we could soon raise enough money for the rebuild.

I used to go on the pier with my parents and grand parents, taken my children & my grandchildren on their its a terrible that this has happened but I believe the new owners will built a new pier for future generations to enjoy.

The pier will be Grand again.

mabey the peir will be rebult but i have a peir where i live in southend on sea and we have the longest pleasure peir in the world and thre have been 3 fires the first one back in the 70.80s at the end of 93/94 ish a bowling alley at the top end and just 1 year and a half ago and the council dont seam to have any intrest in rebulding it no one seams to have a intrest in things like this anymore

Its amazing - and shocking. I've been going there since I was a child, as I lived in Bristol. All gone now. I'm sure it will be rebuilt though. The cynical me thinks it was an insurance job by the owners!!

:( I just can't believe all those memories are now just a pile of expensive rubble.

I hope they build it back soon... but it will never be the same again... :(

It's very sad. I feel sorry for the town and especially for Kerry Micheals and his sister Michelle. They had done an amazing job investing 1 million into revamping it. I have lived in Weston for a few years now and only went to the Pier yesterday. People are saying it's an insurance job but really, if Kerry was that kind of person, he would not do it at the height of the season, that's for sure. It will be sadly missed by everyone.

i looved tht pier soo soo much wen ever me and my mates went into town we went on it and the crazy i loved tht i was only just able to go the whole way round on the wheel.

and the ghost house how funny there were gaps tht yuu could scream threw and scare other people on the ride.

ind am going to miss it so much and i an groing up in weston and me and my mates wont have anywhere to go no more.
