I only have a problem with the religion and it's radicalist members, the moderates are fine but they need to fully read the Qur'an, it's not a book promoting peace, it, like the Bible, is one of the most vulgar and ridiculous things I have ever read. I only hope that the Muslim moderates educate themselves and leave the religion. Also, only an idiot immediately assumes that anyone who is Arab is a Muslim, or even further, a terrorist. I am not of middle eastern descent or what have you, but I feel for all of you. Those that are labelled as terrorists or what have you. People are susceptible to media manipulation, and as a result form prejudice statements and thoughts on people because of their skin color, ethnicity, religion etc.
I don't like to get into race, but these programs are more so directed towards whites. Today in class we were discussing 911, and so many white people were saying disgusting things.

The reason why many westeners have a bad view of muslims is because many of them are very seclusive and due to them being immigrants, tend to be poor. Due to this, there is a higher chance of them going into a life of crime, in much the same way as african americans and mexicans have more chance to become criminals.These people aren't the problem, but it's being generalised around their race, while poverty is the problem.
As for being called a terrorist. I'm convinced that the *VAST* majority of people in *MOST* communities never have and would never consider a random Arab looking Muslim Islamic or anything that resembles them, as a terrorist without specific information or any actual reason or evidence that he/she might be. all arabs have some black ancestry, there was a native black population in the middle east called arabids. When the Europeans started to migrate out they settled in places like persia, iraq and other parts of the middle east. As for being called a terrorist. I'm convinced that the *VAST* majority of people in *MOST* communities never have and would never consider a random Arab looking Muslim Islamic or anything that resembles them, as a terrorist without specific information or any actual reason or evidence that he/she might be. It's simply too silly for words.
*IF* everything "Arab" (stereotype) would have been a terrorist, we would have known it by now ;-)

Some great oil in Alberta if you've worked in the industry, and te Maritimes are great for fishing. The Yukon's pretty cold, but Saskatchewan has some great farm lands and praries. And we view foreigners as awesome (just watch little Mosque on the Prarie). We have free national healthcare and a stable economy. You know you want to.

When you have to always use a disclaimer that you're not a terrorist or an angry muslim, you might as well admit something is wrong with your religion. While stereotypes are not always true that doesnt mean they are never true, for stereotypes wouldnt exist without a common conception of muslims. If following a book to the point of extremism turns you into a terrorist you can only conclude that something evil comes from within the Koran.

@edgar669966 True, but it's not the Qu'ran itself. I mean when you look at Christianity and Judaism, you see that even then God loves child rape, murder, and raping slaves. Following any of them to extremes turns you into a terrorist (or back in the day witch hunters and crusaders). So maybe we should just admit all religious text is ancient and that Western Society, including muslims, follow a different set of rules than our ancestors.

all arabs have some black ancestry, there was a native black population in the middle east called arabids. When the Europeans started to migrate out they settled in places like persia, iraq and other parts of the middle east. High concentration of arabids were in iraq, hence why modern arabs have slightly black features.
Dont forget, many africans also migrated to civilisations like Babylon and mesopotamia

@tineeeable actually the war in Iraq happened because the US had a crap president who wanted an excuse to go over and mess with another country's government. So he decided he'd say they had nuclear weapons, y'know, and there were none. The US technically had no RIGHT to try and take Sadam Hussein out of power. Sure he was a dictator, he was horrible - but he's not a US politician, and it's Iraq's politcal affairs, not ours. And in your defense, they probably don't rape - that was the nazis.

They didn't use it as a weapon per se, they just did it (only occasionally, it was hardly a common thing) usually killing the women afterwards. That being said, it is apparently also true that Soviet soldiers raped civilians as well.
Please tell me you aren't considering history or law in University...

(Afghanistan) In terms of Iraq nobody was a terrorist, and while Sadam did support some terrorist activites; they were largely against the Religious Countries surrounding him like Iran) who hated Iraq for being secular.
So in sum, neither is a terrorist.
