I had a GT-8 for a year & just couldn't get it right as it does too much & is too fiddly. I'm looking at getting one of these or a GT-5 (If I can find one)...
but it depends what your lookn for, this unit has a classic boss sound, very fat and rich.If you like the newer boss product tone its not for you.Progamed right this unit can sound so analog and and full sounding.
@THEGUYD0WNTHESTREET Yes it was worth it!! I love this thing now that i've kind of figured my way around it.. Seemed a bit intimidating at first but it's really pretty user friendly. Pluss it's got alot of cool stuff on it...most likely more than i will ever use ... but i have the option now
@JKillick007 I don't have the thing with me right now...it's at the band house. If i did I could walk you thrrough some of it....If you don't have the manual you can download it on the Boss website...Good luck with it and have fun...it's a cool effects processor
what makes it stand alone is the fact that you can make it sound great in any situation.Alott of multi units cant do that.it sounds great clean in the loop or as a stand alone unit in a clean amp, just spend time programing it.Its the best!
I own a gt3,Ive used it for years in sessions and live a few times. Its a very good unit.Ive played alott of the other boss units,as well as zoom, digitech, and dod, nothing sounds as good as this.
How the hell do you set the auto riff so that once you've held a note/riff, you can then play over the top of it. The manual doesn't seem to cover that bit.
@Ometopada thats right. i own a gt-10..after struggling with the onboard preamps/speaker simulations, i now just use it as an effectsprocessor...the amp/speaker sim´s in the gt-10 sound shit imo.
after hearing this gt-3 demo on youtube i think about selling my gt10 and get a gt-3 instead..
@WirSindRocker Holy, I was thinking in doing the opposite, selling my gt3 and get a gt10, but after all this comments I'll have to think about it.... : /
@ogtotes yes. i mean..try a gt-10 in a guitar shop and see if it makes you happy.. i was disappointed when i got it.. I usally love boss... but the older generations of the gt´s sound way better in my opinion.
the gt-10 sounds to digital..
Or try Line HD Model (the newer ones). I heard that Line6 improved all their models and effects.
I never got back round to sussing it out, as my self employed work took a nose dive and all my energy has gone into getting my business up and running again. So when things have settled again I'll get back to it.
I recently bought one of these and it's brilliant, but I'm buggered if I can suss out the FX SEND bit of it. I downloaded the manual which was absolutely useless.
I'm guessing I need to change a setting somewhere, either on/off or level?
Sold my GT-8/ME-25/ME-50 & kept my GT-3 ;)

I just got one off eBay for £80 :D
I bought a Boss ME-25 last week too but I think I'll like the GT3 better. I'm not into using amp sims just the effects...

@billdean123
Dude,
I just got this thing and I am so happy with it,
Only thing I dont get it how I assign different sounds to pedals,
so for example I would like
Pedal One- Crunch for rhythm
Pedal Two-Lead distortion or whatever
Pedal Three-Strat sound
Pedal Four-Some thing with loads of delay
But all sounds are grouped together, makes no sense to me.

OK.. I have another question.
How the hell do you set the auto riff so that once you've held a note/riff, you can then play over the top of it. The manual doesn't seem to cover that bit.
Cheers guys

Everything else that came out after GT-3 is shit. GT-5 is still ok. But after that every GT after that is too digital.

Hi.. Thanks for that.
I never got back round to sussing it out, as my self employed work took a nose dive and all my energy has gone into getting my business up and running again. So when things have settled again I'll get back to it.
Thanks for the info ... much appreciated.
Cheers and Happy New Year !!

I'm guessing I need to change a setting somewhere, either on/off or level?
Some advice would be much appreciated.
