I always loved this solo, watching Abbott & Costello movies on Sunday morning TV. "Here Come the Co-eds" is a movie that has everything: pro wrestling, musical numbers, basketball, girl orchestras, even a galvanizing "Gypsy Airs" performed by Evelyn and Her Magic Violin.
She could certainly dance...not so sure about the singing. But what strange lighting -- all lit from behind, why no spotlight or highlight on Ryan or the other dancers? And what's with that 'thumping' underneath the taps?
I think she was too 'unladylike' for her time. She was a fantastic dancer, and also an excellent athlete and comedienne. She and fellow vaudevillian Donald O'Connor were good showcases for each other, and their comic dance routines are truly breathtaking.

With practice, anyone can dance the steps, but you have to be born with the kind of energy and charisma that Peggy has!

Wow, so cool that I found this! I remember taking dance lessons from her in Vegas and performing in a Christmas show she put on when I was a kid!
