  • whats the run time on the lipo?

  • Comment removed

  • @huioliver how do you like it.... I Ordered a blue one from UK and have a venom 11.1 volt 3s lipo 4000 mah and the thing is uncontrollable, My first time driving it though I had a blast and if you use throttle control you can stop it from flipping... Fast as hell, definatly beats out my Buddies Associated T4.1 ....

  • @untouchablemvj1982 I love mine i got it from america (ebay), i got mine in a silver body but i bought an extra blue body, right now my speed t has a busted diff but still goes just not as fast as normal. i stuck a camera to mine and got two videos i uploaded one to youtube but it is not going as fast (diff). I have a 11.1v 5000mAh 30c+ Lipo Battery for mine. If ur interested in the video i posted search up ►Camera Strapped to Losi Speed T◄ and it should come up first

  • @huioliver they shipped it from the UK to Detroit suburbs, where I live and the thing looks bad ass...

  • @untouchablemvj1982 I live in Australia so it took a while to arrive, the separate blue body came first. have u ever crashed yours, i have, it slid out and hit a small pole at around 40km, my battery i so big i had to use a modified steel strap to hold it down but when it crashed the battery flew forward so hard that it bent the steel strap forward about two inches, the front end is bent up a bit from that which makes the body hard to fit on. its fine now, just had to use parts from my Desert T

  • @huioliver I broke it twice... Crashed into a parked car wheel and Hit a grass enbankment, Broke axle first and cracked suspension second.. Both parts were cheap but this thing is prone to break at high speeds, but that is like anything goin that speed.

  • @untouchablemvj1982 right now my Speed T is pretty sick and not going as fast, its still goes like hell tho. Recently i strapped a $600 camera to it using wrapping paper sticky tape, surprisingly that stuff held out well, i could have made a few more videos but only got 2 cause i needed the camera back for a lunar eclipse that night. i have posted one on Youtube, u could easily find the video on my account.

  • @huioliver Anyone who has a speed t should do the following or they will eventually if they run 3s ... Get robinson Racing 9400 and 9402 and some losi balls 3/32 and turn that Spool pos plastic gear set into a Ball Diff and it will be faster and hold up under the torque from 3s. I have a speed t with that set up and a Velineon Motor/Esc because I fried the cheap ass Excelorin... running 28/76 gearing and im doing at least 75-80......

  • is it a 4wd ?????????? can someone tell me

  • @fraserfastproduction

    it is a 2wd

  • I have a XXX-NT, this just persuaded me to go electric for my next Losi. I know the Speed-NT is also a huge jump from the XXX-NT, but this just seems like so much less of a hassle.

  • i got one of these aint that impressed with it too light and the gears keep shredding... so took all the electrics out of it and now just have the full rolling chassis.... anyone after one for spares????? inbox me...

  • @rcbasha were you running it in dirt holes or Tall grass???? you should be ok for ON ROAD driving...

  • @untouchablemvj1982 just on big carparks had nothiong but issue,s with it , now long gone in ebay land LOL... i deffo wouldnt have another , they really need to sort out the crappy plastic gearing...

  • should i buy this car or hpi bullet flux ?

  • Can You do a review on it.Im interested in investing in a Speed T!

  • Can You do a review on it.Im interested in investing in a Speed T!

  • oh thanks, i just had a rustler xl-5 and the motor was trash, the brushes kept on falling out and my esc LITERALY exploded, i wnt car, brushless. what do u reccomend, thanks

  • @mariamad90 Go with a dirt cheap hobbywing 80A esc + motor, about 90$ , tons of power, 2S-3S , I run those in clib racing for one year , never had a single problem

  • @mariamad90 you can only do like 2-3 speed passes with the rustler at 70 mph before the motor blows... Speed t is discontinued so have fun trying to find one, There is like 2 left for sale in the world online.... If you can manage to get one, take it.

  • wat kind of connectors wud i need if i buyed this truck, i hav two nimh bats with traxxas connecters

  • @mariamad90 Hey Bud, Losi has their own connector type, and it is not compatible with the Traxxas plugs. If you have all traxxas connectors though, you can easily change the Speed-t connector to a Traxxas or build a converter plug (what I usually do). Hope that helps!

  • @devnull128 don't you just need the EC3 connector?

  • @devnull128 Stock gearing is 20/88... The scary thing is this car is running a tad slower then stock because 18/78 slows it down just a tad but this thing is FAST... goin 65 here, stock gearing with that battery will do 70-74

  • @devnull128 just get the venom battery set with the 4 in 1.... its simple no need to do all that.

  • @untouchablemvj1982 it comes with Traxxas, tamiya, ec3 and another one

  • @mariamad90 Dont buy this... Get a rustler VXL... Way better imo. and traxxas support is 2nd to NONE.

  • @LiveFreeOrRIP It's second to Losi. :p

  • @LiveFreeOrRIP rustlers suck... You have to gear them way to far and almost blow the motor to get 65 plus with a rustler... Plus rustler has no wheelie bar, shitty suspension and is not better then the Speed t.. sorry pal

  • @mariamad90

    EC3 connecters

  • AWESOME! Nice track too!

  • The rustler vxl is better.

  • @kylerustler58 LOL... My rusty disagrees, and thinks they both are fantastic...

  • @kylerustler58 they the saame.

  • im having problems wit my new diff , it a rr aluminum diff. i think i lost some berrings in the monster diff screw? would that make my diff slip really quick?

  • @EmoCuppyCakeX3 Yes, you must set those fairly tight... There is a ton of torque that is being thrust upon those diffs!

  • What battery do you have for your Speed T? When I bought mine about a month ago, I got just the standard battery and a onyx 200 charger. If I wanted to spend a little more, I could get the better battery and charger, and get up near 65+.

  • @redmr2na Hey Bud, I used a 5000mah MaxAmps 3S LiPo battery (20C, which was standard at that time). Today's 40C+ cells would give this thing even more punch!

You want to get at least a 4000mah (or more) 25C+ 3S battery though.

  • @devnull128 The place I bought mine from said that if I wanted to get it up to 65+, I'd have to get a 3 S lipo, and a venom brand charger. Now that I've experienced the standard power, I'm thinking of going whole hog, and getting the car converted to lipo, and essentually make mine a rc ballistic missile like yours.

  • rc car going 100+mph look at the vid

  • @draven3907 Duuuuuude! Looks great man. Excellent job!

  • waxflag, the esc is set to profile three from the factory. this allows half throttle only, and has no voltage cutoff. change the esc to profile one. profile one gives full throttle, votage cutoff for 3s lipo, and forward only.

  • Dose anyone know what blue light on fan means?

  • my speed t body was painted black, then on all the curves and indents on the body, we painted green marks to give it a nice black/green body

  • why isnt it doing a wheelie

  • ya they are crazy fast!!!

i have a speed-t myself and i had upgraded to an ebay 3s lipo but for some reason after like the 3rd run with the battery if quit on me? i had measured the voltage and it was below 3.6v per cell?

i dont know if i should upgrade to a mamba max or is there a way to set the low voltage cutoff on the xcellerin esc?

i did program the esc for 3s so idk whats wrong?

  • is that stock?

  • @spadzo - Very, very close to stock. These speeds are basically stock speeds (at 3S lipo), but I changed out quite a few parts for graphite ones. They do very little for speed, but I like the stiffer parts for handling.

    These things are FAST!!!

  • wie ein tornado

  • can this go offraod and jump and everything like that? lol

  • @STUNTINrockstar Sure it can... You may want better tires and to move the shock position for off road, but this is a very capable off roader!

  • I received my Speed-t.I but (11.1 Volts)He make not big speed no wheelie

So what? His kept silent raport with them (Gears Or Diff?)

  • @waxflag I am sorry bud, but I do not understand what you are asking here.

  • @devnull128 he says: i just got my new speed-t woth a 11.1v lipo but it isnt even fast and cant make wheelies. what is the problem.

  • @waxflag

    lol...what?

    :))

  • how much total witht he mods was this car

  • $299 for the car (RTR with radio), $4 for a kevlar spur, and $4 for the 18t pinion is what is needed (along with a $100 or so 3S lipo if you don't have one).

I also have on this thing (NOT REQUIRED):

a DX3R radio (because I use it on all of my cars)

a ton of graphite parts (because they dramatically help with stiffness on the suspension, and because I already had them from the 10,000 other Team Losi cars I have/had in the past 20 years).

  • Oh one more addon:

a new body (because I damn near wore a hole in the top of this one shooting this video LOL).

This car is quite fun hehe...

  • this car is 4wd or 2wd?

  • Hey Bud,

2wd (rwd)... 4wd would definitely help with the gainers LOL...

  • stock but battery and gears?

  • Hey Bud,

I used a 3S MAXamps battery (5000mah, 20c), which does not come with the car (no battery does). The Stock pinion/spur is 20/88 (4.4), and I was using 18/78 (4.3) on this one which is almost identical. The only reason for the change was that I had a 78 kevlar spur lying around and put it in after stripping the stock one.

So bottom line is that it was VERY close to box stock!

  • One note though: I did change out quite a few chassis parts for graphite ones, which are much stiffer and make for a more planted car (IMO)... The graphite parts are MUCH more brittle, and will break easily, but again I had them lying around (from my 2,000 other Losi cars LOL).

This video is approaching 2 years now and still going strong! I still love this car too.

    THANKS!

  • Awesome video thanx for the response

another video is coming so could u please allow mi next video response denbull128

    thanx for that !

this vid is now favourited :D

  • damn fast

  • im getin on for chrismas and next time do it in dirt

  • LOL... Will do bud. I have a Baja SS and a RC8Te for the dirty stuff though, so this one usually stays clean...

BTW: You will LOVE it (enjoy).

  • im thinkin about getting one of these i have a losi aftershock right now i am just wondering if it comes with a charger for the battery or do u have to buy one?

  • it comes with

  • k ty

  • i have a team losi mini-t what would u say i should put into it???? Like what kind of motor?? and by the way nice vid

  • BRUSHLESSSSSSSSS!!!!

they have a nice xceleron system like the one in this thing that u can get. that with lithium batts would make a killer combo

  • ok team losi is sending me a new motor combo system n i will not b opening it cause i will b selling it for $130 so if anyone wants it let me know for more info

  • if it's not gone i'll give you 110 shipped

  • ya i still got it n ill do that

  • ok i cannot get mine to fuckin work n its my 2nd xcelorin motor n it stil aint workin n me n my local hobby shop guy both cant get it to work

  • put some wings on it lol!

  • dam this goes fast

  • I am running 11.1v lipo and this truck just screams.

  • Gotta love it on 3S.... GREAT stuff.

I agree, it does wear quickly though. I replaced most things with graphite and that seems to help a LOT.

For the Traxxas guys, THIS is where the VXL wins hands down (in durability).

  • Unfortunately my speed t is tearing itself to pieces just with speed runs on pavement,no crashes.Warping cvd's,tearing up the diff cups and overall just loosening and stretching all the plastic making the car sloppy.

  • should i buy this or just go for the traxxas rustler vxl?

  • idk anything bout the car you want from traxxas, but i do know from what i heard losi is alot better brand, I had a traxxas s-maxx 2.5 and everything on that car broke i paid 300 for the car and over 300 for fixing it.

  • How much did you pay for it.

  • he paid $299.99 if he bought it off of the losi website

  • This is a faultless rc car until you get to the parts. One crash at 50+ (what i did) and you'll have some serious damage on your hands! The plastic parts are too fragile on the front end. GREAT CAR JUST CANT COPE WITH CRASHES SO BE CAREFUL!

  • Totally agree. This is where the Rusty excels. The stiffer the parts, the more brittle they are. I replaced mine with graphite which is even MORE brittle, but makes a huge difference in stiffness and handling (IMO).

For those who think I ONLY like this car over the Traxxas, read this post again (slowly). They are both great cars.

  • Nice!! But even with those brittle graphite parts its still gonna hurt the truck if it crashes at 65 lol.

Guess your a good enough driver though unlike me. Currently fixing mine now, cant wait to get it back out on the open road! SO MUCH FUN =)

rustler and speed t are both very weak stock though

  • Aluminum is no better when you hit a curb at 50.

  • thats pretty bad ass

  • that little japanese Team Losi SPEED-T only goes 65 n da rustler vxl with A LIPO goes 70

  • You should stop believing everything you read on the front of boxes. Buy both, talk from experience (like I do).

  • Stfu r u high the rustler vxl with a lipo will smoke that thing

  • how much money is it?

  • Hey Bud,

About $300, plus $100 for a battery (plus an appropriate lipo charger if you don't have one).

    Worth every penny!

  • thats shit qik

  • roflmao u r high off ur ass if u think a rustler or any traxxas car is going 2 beat a losi car. losi for life ftw!!

  • losi rulz!

  • The traxxas bandit vxl is faster without a doubt. Not the rustler however ;D

  • lol i have a jato 3.3 and a rustler vxl.. both outrun my friends speed t with 11v lipos...

  • Both cars are worthy adversaries, but your friend clearly cannot drive. The rusty is a virtual draw, and the jato flat does not accelerate like either lipo monsters. (Yes, I own a VXL as well, and have owned 2 Jato's in the past)

  • Comment removed

  • Traxxas has better stock parts... BOTH the rustler and speed t need different gearing and lipos... the jato is not as "Quick" but top speed was higher when geared right.. stock all are bad but traxxas for life here!

  • True RC guys love them all.... I have cars from tons of manufacturers and have raced them since the 80s. Both cars have their high and low points, but I could not pick one over the other (which is why I kept both).

BTW: I have all of these comments because it is my video LOL...

  • RUSTLER VXL FTW

  • this is a nice car i have 1 and beast

  • Hi, do you know what the equivelant sensored motor is to the one that comes in the RTR speed t? It comes with a sensorless Xcelorin if im right yeah?

  • rear wheel drive, 4x4 or fwd?

  • It is a RWD, locked diff truck.

  • so i cant just pull ity out and rune it???? thats gay how u set slipper then??? i have no patiants 2 but im poor too cuz my allowence is only 25$ a week

  • Uh, you can pull it out and run it. The slipper is set with one bolt though (tool included). On a $25 a week budget you will likely not have a 3S lipo, so no real slipper worries anyway.

  • I have just bought one, and when i pull the trotle it vibrates somethimes, and one wire out the condensator is getting redhot, what do you think the problem is? it does this whit 3s lipo and 6cels nimh

  • Sounds like there is a problem with the speed controller. Did you mean the capacitor wire? I'd call Horizon up (they are usually pretty good about customer service).

  • ok thanks did you pull this right out of the box and run it or did you set the slipper clutch

  • I pulled it right out and let her rip. I have no patience though and wound up setting the slipper (after my 2nd spur went up in smoke).

Get the Kevlar spur ($4), and set the slipper and you will have a very tough setup.

  • I have a kevlar spur and a 3s lipo and have had no problems with stripped gears, but i did install a desert truck diff and diff case. (Gears can strip easily if not meshed properly)

  • Comment removed

  • im getting one 4 christmas, do u think there gonna release another one soon.

  • I would highly doubt that since it is still fairly new. They may tweak it some, but I'd be surprised if a flat new speed-t came out.

On the flip side, there will ALWAYS be something new that come out right after you make a buy, no matter when you do it. With that in mind, there is no time like the present!

  • that chassis is such a rip off of the e - firestorm

  • LOL... Looks like you need to go back to the history books bud. The Losi XXX-t chassis has been around for a very, very long time (way longer than the HPI).

  • i heard these cars have diff problems thats why i dont want to get it does it still have diff problems

  • I have not had any issues (and I am HARD on it). Just keep it locked and enjoy.

  • i am getting one for my birthday....what remote would you reccomend to go with it

  • Hey Bud,

The RTR radio that comes with this car is actually quite good. I happen to have a Spektrum DX3R radio (30 model memory), so I decided to use that. Nice thing with the DX3R is that it will use the receiver that came with the Speed-T already!

Again the DX3R is awesome, but I wouldn't run out and buy a new radio just for this car since the stock one is so good (for a RTR).

    ;-)

  • Yeah thats definitely quick for nimh. Does the speed T have the same ground clearance as a rustler and are they tough enough for offroad use?

  • What speed will this truck do with a 7.2v nimh?

  • Hey Bud,

Somewhere in the 40mph range (with stock gearing).

Can I talk you into an 8.4v? (50mph)

    ;-)

  • What's the fastest rustler vxl ore Speed-t

  • VERY close.. Stock out of the box the speed-t clocked slightly faster than the box stated, and the VXL was slightly slower (with the box stated setting for 70mph). This brought them both within 1-2mph of each other.

IMHO, the big difference is handling -vs- durability. The Rusty is more durable, but the speed-t has a proven racing setup from the xxx-t series trucks.

All a matter of opinion and preference. Both are GREAT trucks (I have both).

  • Thanks i think i going for the rusty.

  • If you used the same gearing in the both the speed T will rich the top speed faster then the Rustler VXL.

  • Does your battery get hot or Motor?

I ruined a 9cell and a 3s lipo with a vxl geared stock. How long can you high speed runs before it gets hot?

  • You should always opt for LOSI over Traxxas... if your wallet can handle it...

  • Comment removed

  • Hey Bud, I am sorry I didn't respond to this (just saw it). The motor gets hot before the battery on my 3s setup, and at 5000mah, it usually out runs my extra time....

    (and I agree with stphndxtr)

  • Great Video! You were the first speet t clip on youtube, and still only one to show high speed! Losi should give you stock shares, I would estimate 8 out of ten buyers watched your video!!

Im a former VXL owner, and I always had heat problems! 11.1v 3s- Does the losi run cooler?

  • LOL.. Thanks dude (and I agree, given all of the hobby sites that link to this vid to sell them :-) ). Seriously though, I was lucky enough to get a very early one, and couldn't find a vid when I was deciding so I figured I HAD to put one up.

I will say that once you go 3S, heat becomes an issue probably just as often with the speed-t (maybe even slightly more since the rpm/v numbers are a little higher). But I keep a good eye on it and it never gets too high.

    Hey thanks again bud!

  • omg make a vid on that off road that thing owns!

  • I'm getting a MaxAmps LiPo 3S 5000mah for mine. How much run time do you get with yours?

  • WAY longer than I expected.... Easily in the 10-15 minute category (driving very hard).

I have stopped more often from heat than battery.

  • Hi can someone tell me if the Losi speed T is ok to run on off road.......Thanks

  • Hey Bud,

Yes, you can run it off road. I would adjust the suspension for more ride height, and put some off road tires on, but no problem from there!

  • oh yah and i read in the manual online that it is not geared for offroad and grass, is it possible to gear it for offroad and grass if i changed the spur and the pinion? what spur and pinion should i use?

  • Depends on a few things, first and foremost what battery are you running? How much runtime are you looking for? And what kind of grass (bermuda cut at 1/4", or kentucky blue cut at 5")?

You can gear this thing for most off-road scenarios.

  • Just ordered mine today, should be in next weekend, can't wait!!!!

    Great video!

  • Nice vid ! Gor my 3s today, and the gears melted after 10 min, is youre gearing lighter than stock ? The motor is pretty hot

  • I thought I was melting the gears too. Turns out that the torque from the motor actually strips the gear if the mesh isn't PERFECT. I switched out to the kevlar spur gear (18/78 ratio) and have not had an issue since. The kevlar spur is only $4 and well worth it!

These motors can handle quite a bit of heat, just keep an eye on the temps (I use a nitro temp meter).

    I hope that helps!

  • okey, im running 17/90 now :D wheelies in 40mph

  • what happens when you stop real fast does go flying

  • I know that the Speed T has plastic gears in the tranny this is one of the reasons for the delay but mine was sometimes 15 to 20 seconds before going into reverse.

  • You have to stop it, and let it go to neutral first. I wonder if that is the issue. Are you going right from forward to reverse, wand waiting for it? It will be quicker if you let the trigger go to neutral as soon as it stops (as opposed to holding it in reverse).

    I hope that helps...

  • Just a quick question does your Speed T have an excessive delay before it goes into reverse? I don't know if mine was bad or what but I fixed it with a mamba max and 5700 mamba motor

  • Probably fine. The car has to stop and there is a delay before allowing it to go into reverse. I have reverse disabled, but have a Mamba system that has the same feature...

(next post will have the quote from the manual)

  • The Xcelorin ESC has a feature within it to prevent the Speed-T from going into reverse before you have come to a complete stop. Once

you have come to a stop, release the throttle trigger to the neutral position. Once you have been at neutral, push the trigger forward

to engage reverse (if active). The ESC is also programmed to prevent going directly from reverse drive to forward.

  • The ESC will have a

short pause when changing from reverse to going forward to prevent damage to the motor or drivetrain of your vehicle.

  • I listen to all the bickering back and forth I have both vehicles and both vehicles have problems to work out, neither is a race vehicle, everyone wants the fastest brushless out there I guarantee it's not going to be a truck. Both of my trucks are in the 65-70 mph range neither handle worth a crap at this speed with a 2 wheel drive neither stop worth a crap either. BUT I LOVE THE HELL OUT OF BOTH OF THEM!!!!!!!!

  • 100% what I have been saying..

    Thank you.

  • you no u can get a traxxas rustler vxl rtr for about $270 or something on towerhobbies and the top speed is about 70mph but it matters which battery you buy because i think it can go up to 85+ with the right battery

  • Have a Rusty too, this chassis handles the speed better IMO.

  • sunny hit 90 with a VXL

  • Do you have a link to that? Amazing!

  • I'll PM it. Unfortunately links don't work in comments becuase of spam.

  • AWESOME Vid! Thanks for sending it dude.

    Time for some A123's.... :-)

  • how much is that?

  • $329 for horizonhobby... $100 (plus or minus) for a 3S battery. Permagrin is free from there.
