Sure, it's foamcore with a big area for mounting your electrics to adjust the CG. Do you wan't the extra 10-20g od servos? it could handle it but lose some runtime and rate of climb., I would have... But stock it's CG is set like a delta as if the wings and tail were one piece that might change if you put control surfaces on the wing so there'd be some trial and error there. Look at the other planes in the series and some have linked ailerons and tailerons but I have no idea where they balance.
You must use an onboard mixer for a v-tail or delta because the gyro has to be "before" the mix in the in the wiring. You don't need fast servo if you don't mind rocking or wobbling at certain speeds but are the way to go if you want super smoth. There is a part of one of my videos of this plane where you can see it rocking side to side with the hxt900 servos. On a fast plane this could cause a "self destruct" or loss of control. I eventualy used 2 gyros, for hands off arrow straight flight.
Hi i just stumbled over ur Video, very nice plane, and nice setup too, seems to work real fine...never did a scratch build so far, only flying ARF´s and stuff. By the way, is it difficult to set up the gyro on a delta (elevon) mix. Would love to install something like that on one of my planes too. U said u use an onboard mixer with the gyro (Turnigy- TG380/ -V-Tailmix), do i need special servos (fast, digi) to set up a plane like that??? I would really like to hear more, hope ur still flying.
If your gonna try this be careful! I did this again holding the the turtledeck (fuselage on top in front of fan) and flew it onto my pinky finger. I heard a snap and the plane fell to the floor as i wondered what hapened the throbbing pain started. I lost a 3/8 inch square of my fingertip and all 5 blades off my fan. My fingertip grew back but the fan cost me about 30 bucks and is a pain to replace.
Is it possible to add ailerons ?
