Hey Ken, thanks for this information, man! You're about the fastest I've seen on youtube with the string silencer tying! Archery is my new-found passion at age 52 and I practice every day. I bought a recurve about a month ago and I have the silencers here. Gonna order me some of that wax string and do exactly what you did! Thanks a million, Ken!
Awesome, man! I've gone through about half a dozen of those stupid things tying them on the wrong way ( the way suggested by the manufacturer is to tie the actual strip in a knot around the string)- Thanks for the correct information-
I am so glad I kept my handy old roach clip forceps from my younger days. I knew they would come in handy for something other than.........................
I heard you say B50 when you showed how to tie in a peep sight. In this video you said B52,,did you make a mistake or do you use two diff types of string?
Kenny, Every single one of your videos are super helpful! Thank you for taking the time to make them. I am brand new to archery as of 2 days ago, and I am absorbing everything I can. Your videos seem to help the most so far!
All of your videos have been of tremendous assistance, thanks Kenny. They gave me confidence to do a lot more of my own work. Have fitted the silencers, together with a Trophy Taker drop down rest after watching this and basic rest setup and the TT videos. But what was happening in the background? Did some good lookin' woman keep walking by the shop????
Thanks for the how to man. Just did this on my first bow. Trying to save money where I can and My bow was already really quiet I just figure this can't hurt it any. Your videos are great keep them up.
Kenny, or anyone else have any pros/cons between different silencers? (fur, rubber, wool, etc...) This is for a recurve, if that even makes a difference. Thanks!
Is there a way to improvise that? Because I think they are very cool, but i am the DIY type... And i can't find them at the archery shops in our region...
can you move them up and down on the string for tuning once they are installed - or are they on so tight that they cannot be slid up or down on the string once installed?
It might be hitting on the split buss cable I'm not sure how you could fix this maybe move it up or down could be a possable fix maybe Limbsaver could be better help. I have had them break before but I always thought it was the force of the shot.
dude i was wondering how to do that because everyone has those on there Mathews... the reason i use them is because they work and they slow your bow down only like 1 fps

BowHunter1691 2 years ago
Do you have a website that you can get the materials from or can you get them at any bow shop.
buckfever32123 2 years ago
probably go to a nearby Cabelas or bass pro, or academy.
fishreaper 2 years ago
Put them about 3 inches from your cams and put 2 on your main string this should work fine.
