  • stupid video

  • old glory days of quake will never be brought back unfortunately. the quality of games in the mid-late 90s is unmatched

  • If you guys like this, type in 'Tribes 2 music', similar kind of thing from a game around Quake's time!

  • I wanna cockslap my entire pansy-ass, abercombie waxed chest hide-and-snipe-in-video-games generation.

  • @fr31mann

And then read them fuckin' whine on their facebook blogs with half of the words misspelled.

  • Oh man, this is one VERY GREAT SONG!!!

  • Oh man I miss the good old days of q2

  • DESIGN IS LAW

  • enter your text here

  • 12 people doesnt complete quake 2 :D !

  • FUCK YOU STREAM

    If I like I play

If it's old or new I don't give a fuck

    Ratings?

IF I DON'T LIKE THEN IT'S SHIT TO ME!

  • ooh jeez! this ol' goodie just brought me the goosebumps..

  • This game despite being old, I think is one of the best first person shooter I've played in my life the music is one of the best things in the game

  • Cheers to being almost 30 years old and still feeling highly nostalgic when hearing this.

  • What happened to the amazing game soundtracks like this one? These days all you get is some embarrassing Japanese techno or rap soundtrack, absolutely shameful.

  • @thatusmmaguy rap fucking sucks ass. it shouldnt even be considered a music genre if you ask me.

  • @ScarletSnake Couldn't agree more. Glad to see there are at least a few people left in this world who appreciate real music.

  • @ScarletSnake It's a hell of alot better than some of the shit that's considered main stream now adays.

  • @ScarletSnake Seriously, rap shouldn't be considered a genre? So just because you don't like it it's not real music? Explain please.

  • this track should be in QuakeLive, that would be just perfect

'cause when listening to this song...damn it's so motivating >.<

  • @SHINJIxCORE download this song to mp3 then play it when playing quake live :D i do that, just go in options and turn down the quake live music xD i do this always :P

  • 1994 here. heavy metal is the best. Iron Maiden, Sonic Mayhem, all that stuff is the best.. i agree with seedililbarf, wrong generation totally.

and these games are so much better than the modern camping 'realism' games.

fuck this shit, i want to be reborn in the eighties.

  • Love Quad Machine. Since 1984, I have used a handful of songs to warm up before playing. Because of my general fondness and the usefulness of those songs, which I have had the pleasure to enjoy over the years, I include "Large Time"- ARS, "Tailgunner" - the Nuge, "Wrathchild" - Maiden, and this excellent piece. Also I served with the AQ2 clan WC for 5 years. I wish I could do it again. ...........(WC)-Black

  • Born in 1936, assassinated Hitler to this song.

Honestly, no one gives a shit about when you were born.

  • @CLICKMEYOULOSER Hope you used quad damage on that asshole!

  • i've got an idea , imagine a game created by ID ,people can fly and epic games

  • @atjui you forgot Croteam

  • brings be back to my n00b fragging days!! muahahhaha

  • 1996 here. I actually bought black ops. Fuck that shit. I need more Id games.

  • First game I ever bought... I was 6 at the time and had difficulty controlling the muzzle rise of the Machine Gun!

  • Ah, back in the day when video games featured heavy metal music. These days it's all dubstep...

  • ...not being an heavy metal fan, which HM style do Sonic Mayhem plays?

  • @alfonsovolpe1976 I'm not really sure but I think it's industrial metal.

  • PWN PWN PWN PWN SICK!!! - thanks for the upload!

  • L0:00NG LIVE QUAKE 2!!!

  • Both Quake II and Unreal Tournament (1st one) had some of the best adrenaline pumping music. Perfect music for perfect games.

  • BIG FUCKING GUN FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • long live great video game music!

  • 12 stroggs disliked the video

  • Holy shit. Goosebumps. This music and the game rocked my world in 90s.

  • @IRageFox thank you

Sounded just like BH, Now looking into Sonic Mayhem...

  • @IRageFox I'm in! :D

  • epic

  • Let´s face it, it´s the best FPS ever in terms of being a classic. It went all downhill from there.

  • Was this made by Buckethead?

  • steam gypped me. their version has everything BUT the soundtrack.

  • @superpyromaniac I know.. what a bunch of twotts.

  • this one riff at 0:36 is sooo Duke Nukem! :D

  • Let's rock!

  • id software: king of FPS

    Westwood studios: king of RTS

  • love sonic mayhem

    awesome beats every song

  • sonic mayhem FTW

  • The noise the shotgun makes in this game is fucking incredible. I play the game just to use that gun, haha. And to hear the music of course :D

  • @cubeface21 Hell yeah, dude. I ripped the .WAVs and sent them to my phone. Now,

    when it rings, QUAD MACHINE.

When I get a text message, Super Shotgun(Boom-Click-Click).

When I get an email, Computer Updated.

    It's not difficult to do.

  • I love that sound. I've played a lot Quake.

  • computer updated.... :-)

  • In Soviet Russia, BFG10k gibs you!

  • @metroid09 and in the quake, songs are kick ass

  • Это вроде как саундтрек к Quake 2?

  • @Ivan1nikitin

  • i thought quake 2 was in real life when i was playing its as a kid, thats how cool this game is

  • i think i just had an eargasm

  • @warmasterhl2 Word !

  • I grew two beards listening to this.

  • They couldnt have got the music any more right for this game. Now wheres my super shotgun!?!?!

  • MY#2BESTSOUNDTRACKFROM,(QUAKE2.)FUCKINGAWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THANKSFORPOSTINGTHISVIDEO!!!!!!!!!

  • Man, this game is so classic. It represents one of the biggest jumps in gaming and all FPS games owe it a debt of gratitude (especially COD and Halo). I mean, just look at Quake and then Quake 2. Such an amazing difference in graphics and quality. And listen to this music, it's orgasmic! I only wish that another FPS could feature some kickass metal music as raw as this. Doom and Quake will live forever in my opinion as THE greatest shooters in gaming.

  • @82mtlhead for metal music try Painkiller ;)

  • @wtfpantera

    Painkiller's soundtrack is amazing!

  • F**k u Makron! I have a Rolex!!

    Ahem!! I have a BFG!!!!

  • This music turned my chest hair into a working BFG10K!

  • this song makes me wana blow someones fucking head off with a shot gun BIIITCHHHH!!!!

  • quake

that relates to this song the most.

  • lol yesterday i finished playing quake 2 on hard! it's so easy I couldn't believe it, i always thought it's hard as hell... I even forgot to turn my quad damage when i was fighting makron rofl...

  • @bigbob0 Play on Hard+. Other than that, I can't really see a way to make it more difficult.

  • good times =)

  • Wow what a huge jump in audio quality, from 93(Doom) to 97(Quake II), the difference is more than night and day.

  • @Ishykawa

yeah what a huge jump there, while absolutely no progress in games in past 4 years or more.

    ha. ;p

  • @Ishykawa

That has to more with the medium of distribution rather than technological advances. Doom was distributed on floppy disk. Quake II had the advantage of being distributed on CD-ROM, which meant that iD could simply do a live recording and place it on the disk as redbook audio. This was done with Sega CD games, which were basically Genesis games with better music. But, it is still impressive to hear how complex compositions had become over a four year gap.

  • @Ishykawa doom had mid, that limitates the musics to simple instruments and q2 uses .wav that pocible to do anything.

  • @Ishykawa Its also a huge jump from the piss poor audio and music in 2011 back to 1997!

  • here comes the makron *switches to BFG-10K...you have beat the strogg planet

  • Awsome game!

  • The group that put this soundtrack together is bad ass. I like it even better as an adult.

  • Still gives me chills every time I listen to this...

  • fuckkkkkkkkkkk fuck fuck i love this shit i wanna go back to 1996!!!!

  • @nubira97 there werent youtube,facebook,twitter ipod !!!! :D are you sure :D ?

  • @nubira97 born on 96 :D

  • @nubira97 i was born in 1995 and am currently growing up with a bunch of retards who like pop and games where you spend most of your time hideing behind a chest high wall waiting for your health to grow back. i was born in the wrong generation.

  • @seedililbarf and you're there to right wrongs *brofist*

  • @seedililbarf

Play Quake II soundtrack till they learn.

  • @seedililbarf Here here bro well said!!!

  • @seedililbarf

No offence, but I'm getting pretty sick of comments like yours. You were born in 1995 and make the same mistake as people born in every age; assuming that the newest generation is more retarded than the ones before it blah blah miss-the-good-old-days-crap. Let me tell you a secret: I was born in 1988, and my generation were filled with people who liked Backstreet Boys, Tamagotchies and Leonardo DiCaprio before he was cool. Not Quake.

  • @seedililbarf

Can't we just... like stuff without hating other stuff? Is it too much to ask not to have to wade through millions of "people these days don't appreciate this stuff because all the stuff these kids nowadays like is stupid crap"-comments EVERY SINGLE TIME I go to a video of, well, anything older than three years? I mean, I grew up playing Quake II, and it was an awesome game, and then the years passed, and now I'm playing Crysis and Modern Warfare. Can't I like both?

  • @seedililbarf

Is there some kind of rule that says you have to become resentful about anything new simply because you like something old? Is it obligatory to smacktalk younger generations because they don't have the good taste to appreciate something old you happen to prefer?

Sometimes it seems like EVERY SINGLE GENERATION goes through the same phase of looking at the next generation with distaste and claim that "we were never that stupid when we were kids". But we WERE. Totally.

  • @seedililbarf

I can only speak from experience, but my generation wasn't any better than this one. People from my generation were just as much morons with no taste in games/music/whatever as any other generation. There are always going to be people who feel left out, like they have nothing in common with their peers when it comes to taste. That doesn't mean the generation is "retarded".

  • And don't get me wrong, if you don't like newer games, that's fine, totally. I'm just sick of hearing all this "kids these days are retards because they don't like the stuff I like"-stuff over and over. It's not just your comment, I've been seeing it all over in different contexts, so I don't want it to sound as if I'm singling you out as the only offender.

I'm sorry for this little rant.

I'll go listen to the awesome soundtrack and leave you alone now.

  • @Punktperson AMEN to that. It's like you completely read my mind.

  • @seedililbarf There's still hope for games to return to the way they were! AND music!

  • @seedililbarf

    You just read my mind.

  • @seedililbarf same, i'm 16 in a school where country and pop dominate. Hell forbid i try to be different

  • @seedililbarf lol i'm born in 1999 and it sucks more they don't even know what mean fps and what is doom and they listen rap with that

  • @atjui

Yeah they're all fucking wannabes dude. This is fps at it's finest dude.

  • @seedililbarf too bad 4 you :) jk

  • @seedililbarf Same here man.

  • @seedililbarf hahaha yeahhhh you missed good times man (i'm only 24 and I had some ROCKIN times with unreal tournament (the original very first one), and quake 2, deathmatch online

  • @seedililbarf not necessarily

you can just do what i do and laugh at people who like shit things

  • @seedililbarf

feel the exact same way man, always have

  • Comment removed

  • @seedililbarf Your not alone, we are just hard to find everyday in real life :)

Dont worry we just need enough of us to become game devs and start an old school FPS revolution

  • @seedililbarf so true

  • @Utearian I'm trying. I became a programmer to make games. I love the old school shooters. If you have an N64, try to find Jet Force Gemini. It's not all that well known (AFAIK). It's like a Quake-ish + Banjo Kazooie + Starship Troopers (It's hard to describe).

  • @nubira97 yeah man fuck CoD

  • Quake, Doom, Half-life= Holy trinity of FPSs

  • @mysticking16 Didn't Valve used the qauke engine for Deathmatch classic and some of their old games?

  • @DANTEPLYX I think so, not sure

  • @DANTEPLYX The Half-Life engine is heavily based upon the framework made by carmack, but its essentially not the same. however it wouldnt have been made without the inspiration of the quake engines :)

  • @DANTEPLYX yes. Without the quake 2 engine half life, team fortress, portal, l4d, and counter strike wouldn't be

  • Comment removed

  • which part of the game this song plays?

  • @banga999 First in level 2.

  • Vieve La ID Software

  • there is no weapon even in the "modern" FPSs that feels like the fuckin super shotgun.

  • Sounds like Batman Beyond. :)

  • @Joecbg100 no.

  • I can't imagine how could it be possible to play Q2 without this music. No waay!!!

  • someone has to quit dumping shit here, u ppl got something to debate, go elsewhere

  • Quake 2 with a Voodoo2 Gfx card was uber back then you couldent belive how good it looked and how smooth it ran

  • @TheGodlyEyeCon Is talk about hat with my friend to this day. The graphipcs were increadible. Q2 Was a milestone in every way.

    Whatever happended to Voodoo btw?

  • It fell victim to the Y2K curse, Slimsoj

  • Sonic Mayhem TheBest4Ever !

  • Quake = The World.

Fucking Halo and Fucking Fallout shitty piece of shit Call Of Duty = A pile of fucking piece of fucking bullfuckdogfuck

  • @hugothenerd fallout kicks ass dude

  • @Rangerleadtheway44 Not the third one. It SUCKS ASS.

  • @hugothenerd wot????1st and second was so outa detail and boring....the 3rd was epic

  • @Rangerleadtheway44 Seriosly? Do you even know what you are saying? Are you being threatened by a gun? Are you mentally ill? Or have you just played the third one without knowing that the first 2 games are ten times more awesome than the third one? Man. You're a dick.

  • @hugothenerd are you seriously insulting me cuz i was expressing my opinion?? i played the first one like a year ago at my friends house....man you need to get a life...get some friends...and quit being a dork...god i smash kids at school that are like you

  • @hugothenerd Quake is the shit! It is by far the epic of epicness in fps games!

  • Quake 2 is Boss

  • One of the best game ever produced!!!

  • If Call of Duty had a soundtrack like this, it would at least be good in one aspect.

  • Quake 2 was the first game I purchased in my life, I just liked the cover art and got it, and I was scared shitless for the first hour, after that I was screaming in joy at the uncontrollable recoil of the machinegun. I was 6 at the time :). I pretty much remember this music... after 14 years...

  • and when you are standing looking for something and hear someone shout "PUTOHHHHHHH! " run like a motherfuker

    good old times

  • people are thinking to hard with video games nowadays just give me a big gun and a bunch of enemies to mow down and ill be the happiest ive been since quake came out. i always loved quakes fast paced gory action.

  • Have you people even thought that what FPS games would be without Quake and Doom? There would be nothing without those two games, because they're the fucking milestones of shooting games: Long live Id Software!

  • @PortalCube not really, what about half life 1, i found it awesome too;

but yeah, quake and doom are badass when it comes to mindless shooting xD

  • @PortalCube Well half life 1's engine was made from the quake engine....

So we wouldnt have cs .Also hl1 originated hl2 (source engine) and witouth that we wouldnt have those awesome games like l4d ,cs source and portal.

    Doom/Quake ftw :D

  • @PortalCube Exactly. Take it like this: If you never played doom or quake, you don't know shit about games

  • @PortalCube funnily enough, the only excuse for those who deny Doom/Quake's existence say that without Pac-man or Pong Doom and Quake wouldn't exist.

Sad, really...you can't really call yourself a gamer if you haven't played Doom and this. This and Doom just has this charm of never getting old...maybe it's because of the ridiculous difficulty. :P

  • @PortalCube Actually while it is quite accurate to say that Both Doom and Quake brought the FPS genre forward both in terms of new ideas and gameplay it's highly Un accurate to say that there would be nothing without these two games because in fact it was Wolfenstien 3D that was the first FPS!! And dare i Say the best FPS ever!! so with out Wolfenstien you wouldn't have either Doom or Quake!

  • @PortalCube Unreal tournament one? :3

  • @PortalCube i take it ur getting rage?

  • @PortalCube GOD BLESS YOU

  • @PortalCube Sir, Why did you forget Wolfenstein?!?!?

  • @PortalCube

Yeah, especially Volition, Inc running out of idea about developing and spending so many year try to resurrect the red faction franchise. In the end, they inspiring by this game to work on right now and was a successful although, their vehicle and walker pretty rip off from Quake 4. I am not kidding is true.

  • @PortalCube Those games are the first and best FPS games in the world

  • Honestly guys, this musics by Sonic Mayhem really, really rocks! I have no words to describe it. This soundtracks give me chills. They are so unique, so amazing, so deep... SO QUAKISH! Thank you so much Sonic Mayhem for this wonderful and amazing quakish musics and also for the Quake3 musics!!! :)

  • Fuck Halo and all the other new girly shit. Quake II was and is the best sci fi/ alien game EVER to be created!
